I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Surprises Upon Entering the Tower, Old Friends Return!

Lin Yi was taken aback.

This inverted Sky Tower also has something to do with Lin You?

As he pondered.

The airship had already come to a slow stop.

”Everyone, according to the procedure, we need your cooperation for identity verification.”

”Only then can the multinational military presence outside the tower grant passage.”

”Please forgive any inconvenience.”

The captain of the airship emerged from the cockpit.

He spoke to Lin Yi and the others on the deck railing.

Everyone nodded.

After all, the inverted Sky Tower no longer completely belongs to Xia.

The multinational military presence here verifying the identity of those entering the tower is understandable.

The entire process lasted over ten minutes.

Soon, the verification personnel began to grant passage.

”Everyone, the airship can only fly this far; the remaining distance requires you to use your flying skills to enter the tower.”

”I wish you all powerful souls.”

The captain waved his hand.

After bidding farewell to him.

Lin Yi spread his gravitational field and took to the air.

Flying toward the entrance at the tower’s tip.

During the flight, Lin Yi also glanced at the dark hole on the tower’s body.

If he were to enter through those holes directly.

Would he start from the sixtieth or seventieth floor?

”Are you wondering why we must enter from the tower’s tip at the 100th floor, and if you could skip the earlier floors by directly entering through those holes?”

Leading Lin Yi and the nine others was a Xia officer.

Seeing Lin Yi and the others’ gaze, he suddenly smiled and spoke.

”Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking.”

Guan Xingwu nodded, speak bluntly.

”Haha, to be honest with you, you can indeed enter through there.”

”However, without beneficial status effects, entering would be no different from throwing your life away.”

This Sky Tower is very eerie, with each layer deeper, the monsters there become more ancient.”

”Many legendary monsters, extinct from Blue Star’s surface for hundreds of years, appear here.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi instantly understood.

Oh yes...

I forgot about that.

Without beneficial status effects, directly rushing to higher levels.

For most people, indeed it’s essentially giving their lives away.

Even Lin Yi dismissed the idea.

It is foreseeable that attempting to reach the 0th floor will require those beneficial statuses as indispensable.

He doesn’t want to waste an opportunity due to his arrogance.

”Alright, delivered.”

”I can’t enter any further; good luck to you.”

The escorting officer led the group to the entrance at the tower’s tip.

There were soldiers in uniforms from various countries stationed here.

Their strengths were not weak.

After thanking the officer, Lin Yi took the lead and stepped into the dark hole of the spire.

The black entrance rippled with waves.

Lin Yi’s figure disappeared.

The others followed one after another.

[Welcome to the inverted Sky Tower’s 100th floor!]

[The current floor is a resting area, please all professionals follow the rules of this floor, fighting is strictly prohibited.]

[Violators will be expelled by the tower guardians!]

While it was still pitch black in front of him, Lin Yi’s mind received prompts.

”You’ve finally arrived.”

”Haha, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

A tremendously familiar voice came through.

Lin Yi felt his heartstrings being plucked.

Soon after, the darkness dispersed, and Lin Yi saw everything in front of him clearly.

This was a huge plaza.

The area seemed to be at least tens of thousands of square meters.

Apart from a spiral staircase descending in the central square, the other areas were surprisingly empty.

After all, looking from outside, the Sky Tower doesn’t seem too large.

Classic spacious inner design.

Just like the Shenxiao Arena, it looks small on the outside, but inside, the actual space is quite large.

Before Lin Yi could see more details of the tower’s interior.

The person standing in front of him brought him immense joy.

”Mr. Guo!!!”

Before Lin Yi could react.

Following Lin Yi’s steps, Guan Xingwu suddenly cried out and rushed into Guo Yinglong’s arms.

Lin Yi recovered from his surprise.

Recalling what Cheng Xiao said to them last night.

He couldn’t help but shake his head.

This guy...

He tricked me, and for so long...!

When Lin Yi heard him say that Guo Yinglong had perished without a trace, reduced to ashes.

How angry he felt, now he felt just as joyfully surprised.

Indeed...

If Guo Yinglong had not ”perished without a trace,” how could he have been saved by him.

And transferred here.

Making people disappear seems to be Cheng Xiao’s specialty.

The previous two Goryeo evaluators are still unknown to be drifting in which hell.

As for why he didn’t tell me the truth, the reason is also easy to understand.

If I knew Guo Yinglong wasn’t dead, the fight with Mitsui Shigemasa wouldn’t have been so fierce...

And it might have been discovered by others that Cheng Xiao violated rules by intervening in saving players on the scene.

Now putting it in this tower where only the victorious are qualified to enter.

Instead, using darkness beneath a lamp is a clever measure.

”Follow me then, I’ve arrived here two days earlier than you, and I’ve explored the basic rules of this tower.”

”We’ll talk slowly on the way, I’ll first take you to the camp I’ve already set up.”

After exchanging greetings with a few people, Guo Yinglong began leading the way.

Only then did Lin Yi realize that the interior of the 100th floor was not only immensely spacious.

People...

There were many!

This was an especially counterintuitive fact.

After all, according to the rules, only the top Youth Professional Competitor Summit winners each year are qualified to enter this tower.

Yet this year was special, expanding to 15 people, usually, every year only 10 people are selected.

But with one glance, Lin Yi saw that in the vast tower interior plaza there were at least two hundred people.

”A lot of people, right?”

”Before I came in, I never expected there would be so many people inside...”

”Do you see that old man...”

Following Guo Yinglong’s direction, Lin Yi looked.

Seeing an old man wrapped in tattered cloth strips, his hair disheveled and gray, muttering to himself, holding two nameless Crystal Stones without shine, huddling in a corner.

”His true name is already unknown, we only know his last name is Liu.”

”According to rumors, he entered in 2929, and has been in the tower for 96 years...”

”More than fifty years ago, he also reached the 51st floor and is the founder of the currently the most stable strategy for passing: the Blood Exchange style.”

”At that time, he even reportedly gave up an SS-grade soul core, choosing resolutely to enter the 50th floor and continue challenging.”

”But it’s said the boss guarding the 50th floor was maddeningly difficult, and he ultimately failed.”

”During his second clearing journey, unfortunately, he didn’t obtain core beneficial effects of the Blood Exchange style, and ultimately could only reach the 80th floor and hastily took a soul core to quit.”

”Those two soul cores identified results were both D-grade...”

”And then he became like this...”

”Besides Mr. Liu, there are many others in the tower who have met with all sorts of disappointments, plus the current challengers, bringing the total number of people in the trial tower close to 400!”

Upon hearing this, Lin Yi’s heart sank.

It’s indeed a sad story...

”Since they’ve failed, why don’t they just choose to leave the tower directly?” Ding Yue asked.

Guo Yinglong shook his head and sighed: ”Because they are waiting for the last slim chance, an opportunity that could allow them to qualify for entry again.”

”It’s a bit complicated, I’ll explain more when we reach the camp.”

Lin Yi paused.

It seems Cheng Xiao only told them the most basic rules.

The ins and outs of this tower, there’s much, much more!
