I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Activating Purgatory Difficulty! Show Your Abyss Title!

Qi Guoguang quickly noticed Lin Yi’s profession.

Just an ordinary Mage.

Same as him.

Not a rare profession at all.

Instantly, he had a bit of admiration for Lin Yi.

Being a regular Mage himself, he naturally knows how much disadvantage it carries compared to other rare or even legendary professions.

Those professions have inherent advantages.

Looking at the entire Blue Star, those who could become powerhouse above the Seventh Transformation are mostly rare or even legendary professions.

The achievements Qi Guoguang has today are wholly credited to his own hard work and struggles!

Since becoming a professional, he did have his share of fortuitous encounters.

But more than that, it’s been effort.

In these eighty years, he hasn’t spent a day without trying to improve himself.

”Reaching Level 42 in just thirty days, he must have had some kind of chance encounter, right?”

Someone spoke up.

At this moment, Qi Guoguang felt a sense of empathy towards Lin Yi.

He said, ”Even if he had a chance encounter, one cannot deny his effort and diligence!”

”A fortuitous encounter alone would never get you to this Level!”

Li Yuanjing also nodded and added, ”This young man is quite something; he must have put in countless times more effort than ordinary people!”

For a moment, within the entire Examination Center, the high-ranking officials of the Dongjiang Provincial Education Bureau and even a few of the Professional Alliance, led by Qi Guoguang, were looking up to Lin Yi.

At the very least, they considered that at Lin Yi’s age, they couldn’t have reached this Level.

He’s incredibly diligent!

If Lin Yi knew what these people were imagining, who knows what he would think.

I’m not, I did not; I’m just a lazy dog!

Li Yuanjing hadn’t forgotten that Sun Liang was still waiting for his instructions on how to handle Lin Yi’s special case.

After pondering for a moment, Li Yuanjing spoke, ”The last time we had such a remarkable examinee was a few decades ago. Since we encountered another one today, let’s grant him an exception.”

”Re-enable that once existing difficulty level.”

Upon hearing this, the rest looked shocked.

”Mr. Li, that difficulty level has resulted in too many incidents in the past!”

”For these examinees, it’s too challenging, not conducive to their mental and physical growth, didn’t you say that yourself back then?”

Li Yuanjing shook his head, ”Times have changed. For him, even the Nightmare difficulty is a joke, it’s too easy.”

”The difficulties we set were based on those in the first transformation, now we have someone in the Second Transformation, those tests don’t make much sense.”

”Of course, for the sake of fairness, inform all 22 exam centers in Tianhai to simultaneously enable the Purgatory Layer difficulty.”

Upon hearing this, Li Yuanjing’s subordinates felt their scalps go numb.

They certainly knew what the so-called Purgatory Layer difficulty entailed.

Simply put, the final level’s dungeon battle would turn from an ordinary dungeon to a special dungeon tainted by abyssal breath.

Just like the special trials of different professions, the difficulty would spike, and these fresh recruits would encounter terrifying abyssal creatures.

”Mr. Li, enabling the Abyss difficulty requires examinees without a special abyss title, which makes it impossible for them to choose...”

Li Yuanjing waved his hand dismissively, ”Then let them wear their abyss titles; those without one won’t be able to choose the Purgatory difficulty.”

”Also, add an extra parameter: only those with a gold seal can select the Purgatory difficulty.”

”If this Level 42 lad hasn’t cleared any special trials and lacks a title, then he has no choice but to pick the Nightmare difficulty, we can’t do much about it.”

Li Yuanjing had made up his mind.

No one could do anything but comply.

Sun Liang quickly took his leave.

He rushed all the way.

Back at Exit 1, Sun Liang informed everyone about the addition of the Purgatory difficulty and the rules for selecting it.

”Ladies and gentlemen, with the addition of the Purgatory difficulty, examinees who’ve registered and selected their difficulty before now have a chance to reselect!”

”But I must remind you all, the Purgatory difficulty is extremely dangerous and might even lead to casualties!”

”Choosing this difficulty requires signing a waiver, taking on all the risks yourself!”

”Moreover, the final assessment of this difficulty requires entering a special dungeon corrupted by abyssal breath, for which you need an abyss title to enter. Examinees without it cannot register!”

”If anyone wants to change their difficulty, please raise your hand now!”

There were only about 20 examinees at Entry 1.

The process of changing difficulty wasn’t cumbersome, so there was plenty of time.

Hence, following the order of registration, Sun Liang first allowed the examinees who had already registered to reselect their difficulties.

The next moment, Sun Liang saw three hands raise in a row.

The young girl Lan Ruoyi calmly raised her right hand.

Simultaneously, Zhao Kai and his underling, who was also at Level 29, raised their right hands.

Sun Liang wasn’t too surprised.

These three had been the highest Level candidates earlier.

Additionally, Zhao Kai and the other young man were both rare professions.

Lan Ruoyi was even of an uncommon-grade profession.

They indeed had the confidence to challenge the Purgatory difficulty.

”Examiner candidates, please equip your abyss titles. After confirming, I will adjust your selected difficulty to Purgatory Level!”

In the next instant, Lin Yi saw that above the heads of Lan Ruoyi and the others appeared five big black letters.

”Abyss Challenger!”

Most titles are obtained by completing special achievements or special dungeons.

Usually, they’re in a hidden state.

They only show when a professional chooses to wear them.

Clearly, the Abyss Challenger title isn’t aesthetically pleasing, so unless necessary, no one wants to wear it.

But at this moment.

Having that title is a very status-affirming thing.

It signifies they’ve cleared a special professional trial and encountered abyssal creatures before.

Their starting line is already different from others their age.

Zhao Kai had always held a grudge against Lin Yi.

Although there wasn’t much enmity.

But Lin Yi’s Level 42 as well as previous statements made him feel like a clown.

Especially when embarrassed in front of the goddess he wanted to pursue, he felt even more frustrated.

At this moment, he was focused on Lin Yi.

He wore a slightly malicious smile.

So what if your Level is high?

If you haven’t passed a professional trial, you still can’t pick the Purgatory difficulty!

The difficulty is directly tied to the possible scores you can obtain.

Even if you max out the points in Nightmare mode, it might not be as good as high scores in the Purgatory difficulty!

Everyone, including Sun Liang, turned their attention to Lin Yi.

Lin Yi was actually bewildered since Sun Liang mentioned the need to wear titles.

Oops, this is awkward!

Where do I even wear a title?

He had never equipped a title before.

”Ahem, Teacher, may I ask how this title is supposed to be worn?” Lin Yi could only stiffen up and ask.

Meanwhile, Zhao Kai felt a rush of glee.

Ha!

Keep pretending!

You clearly don’t have it, not that you don’t know how to wear it!
