Supreme Sword God

Chapter 979: Chapter 978: Schemes on All Sides, Seamless Plan

”Isle Master Mei, I apologize for any offense earlier,” Ye Chen cupped his fist as he spoke.

Originally, I wanted to mention my relationship with Old Wang to get closer, but it seems things might be smoother than expected.

”Young Master Ye, I’ve heard so much about you.” Mei the Third Aunt greeted him warmly, her gaze constantly assessing Ye Chen.

This is the young lord.

Truly a dragon among men, so handsome!

”Isle Master Mei, what is the reason behind your attack on Aurora Island?” Ye Chen asked directly.

Mei the Third Aunt replied, ”A year ago, Plum Blossom Island discovered an underwater ruin and found a very special divine stone inside. During its transport, the stone was lost.

Recently, I received news that the person who snatched the stone was Bai Yi from Aurora Island.

If Young Master Ye has a good relationship with Aurora Island, I can immediately withdraw my people and not pursue the matter further.”

Ye Chen’s eyes flickered. ”That news was intentionally leaked by Bai Yi.”

Mei the Third Aunt was puzzled and asked, ”What is going on?”

Ye Chen: ”It might be related to me. Bai Yi went to great lengths to keep me on Aurora Island, then lured you here so I couldn’t leave.”

”That Bai Yi has a lot of nerve!” Mei the Third Aunt’s killing intent flared up instantly.

Ye Chen: ”...”

I’ve been schemed by Bai Yi.

Mei the Third Aunt is so enraged?

Could it be due to my relationship with Old Wang?

Impossible!

Honestly, I barely have any relationship with Old Wang. We just met, got acquainted, and then I inexplicably received help from him several times.

”Elder Mei, I have a question.” Ye Chen, no longer addressing her as Isle Master, chose a more intimate term, Elder.

Mei the Third Aunt retracted her killing intent. ”Young Master Ye, please speak. I will answer whatever I can.”

”Is there someone secretly helping me?” Ye Chen didn’t beat around the bush, directly voicing his suspicion.

Mei the Third Aunt paused, then said, ”Young Master Ye, just remember this: the Seventy-Two Islands are your most reliable retreat. I can’t say more, but when the time is right, you’ll know everything.”

Ye Chen: ”Do you know Yun Ying?”

Mei the Third Aunt’s expression noticeably changed, but she did not answer Ye Chen’s question.

Ye Chen: ”I am her son.”

Mei the Third Aunt: ”Young Master Ye, should we suppress Bai Yi of Aurora Island now?”

Ye Chen noticed Mei the Third Aunt change the subject and didn’t press further, though he had a rough idea by now.

Perhaps... it really is my mother’s arrangement!

Returning to the current matter, Ye Chen said, ”Not yet. Maintain the status quo. Bai Yi has schemed against me. I will wait until he reveals his true intentions and see what he really wants to do. Maybe we can catch a big fish!”

Mei the Third Aunt nodded, contemplating for a moment, then said, ”For safety reasons, Young Master Ye, I’ll summon some more people to hide in the shadows, waiting for Bai Yi to reveal his true colors!”

”Alright, then I’ll trouble you, Elder Mei.”

”One more thing: that Li Chunfeng from the Ten Thousand Islands Sect outside said he wants us to assist in dealing with you, Young Master Ye. How do you wish to handle him?” Mei the Third Aunt asked.

”In Aurora Island’s forbidden ground, I nearly killed him. He escaped, and I intended to kill him if we met again, but now I’ve changed my mind. Let him live so we can exchange him for the Seventy-Two Islands hostages from the Ten Thousand Islands Sect.”

Just now, Li Chunfeng shouted, and Ye Chen heard him, hence he knew these matters.

Killing Li Chunfeng isn’t a big deal.

But using his life for a more critical purpose is naturally the better choice.

Regardless of whether the Seventy-Two Islands is my mother’s arrangement, since they are willing to help me, I cannot disregard their interests.

Mei the Third Aunt’s eyes lit up, extremely pleased with Ye Chen’s decision.

Just as the Battling Monk said.

Decisive towards enemies, while being compassionate and righteous with allies.

A young lord like this is worth following!

Ye Chen: ”Elder Mei, let’s put on another show.”

A moment later.

”Boom!”

Mei the Third Aunt’s figure was launched out of the Aurora Array.

She was disheveled, her face showing fear and anger.

”What a formidable Aurora Array! Ye Chen, relying on this array’s might may let you survive for now, but it won’t protect you forever. And Bai Yi inside, hear this! If you don’t hand over what I want, when I, Mei the Third Aunt, break through the array, it will be a day of bloodshed for your Aurora Island!”

Inside the array,

Ye Chen appeared ghastly pale, blood continuously oozing from his skin’s surface.

Body Alliance Great Guardian Bai Kai and Aurora Island’s Island Master Bai Yi immediately rushed to Ye Chen’s side.

”How is your injury?”

”Young Master Ye, are you alright?”

Ye Chen took a deep breath, saying, ”Still manageable. I tried once, so I have more confidence in the Aurora Array. Now I need to recuperate for a while, then try again!”

Bai Kai furrowed his brow, exceedingly worried.

Bai Yi immediately said, ”Young Master Ye, I’ll promptly arrange a place for your recovery. Tell me whatever you need, and I’ll assist you. The Aurora Island will be in your hands!”

Ye Chen nodded.

Soon, under Bai Yi’s arrangement, Ye Chen entered a secret chamber.

Bai Kai insisted on staying in the chamber to help with Ye Chen’s treatment.

After Bai Yi left, Bai Kai instantly unleashed a strong Qi Blood force, sealing the chamber again to prevent Bai Yi’s surveillance.

”We can’t delay any longer. I’ll take you out immediately!” Bai Kai spoke with a severe tone, appearing heavily burdened.

Ye Chen smiled faintly, his chaotic aura instantly becoming smooth and natural, full of vitality, without any signs of injury.

This level of disguise had become second nature to him.

”Ye Chen, this...” Bai Kai looked puzzled.

Ye Chen: ”Great Guardian, no rush. I’ve arranged everything. We’ll act once Bai Yi’s true nature is revealed.”

”But now the enemy includes not only Bai Yi. You’ve also offended Mei the Third Aunt of Seventy-Two Islands. Even if we deal with Bai Yi, what about Seventy-Two Islands...”

Ye Chen: ”Even my injury is fake. Great Guardian, do you believe I truly fought with Mei the Third Aunt?”

Bai Kai wasn’t foolish, just overly anxious and concerned, which prevented him from realizing it sooner.

At Ye Chen’s reminder, he immediately understood.

”How did you reach an agreement with Mei the Third Aunt? I’ve heard Mei the Third Aunt has quite a domineering personality...”

Ye Chen casually replied, ”As long as the benefits are sufficient, there are no everlasting enemies.”

Meanwhile, inside another secret chamber on Aurora Island.

Bai Yi was conversing with an elder.

The elder said, ”Island Master, are they almost here? I have a bad feeling...”

Bai Yi smiled confidently, saying, ”Ye Chen gifted Enlightenment Tea to the Celestial Blade Emperor and the Celestial Cauldron Emperor. If we act directly, it will undoubtedly cause countless troubles.

That’s why I devised this plan.

By then, using external forces to extinguish Mei the Third Aunt, I can retrieve the Aurora Sword Dao inheritance from Ye Chen, and even obtain a forbidden inheritance and an imperial weapon.

This plan is flawless; there will be absolutely no accidents!”
