Supreme Sword God

Chapter 965: Chapter 964: Aurora Sword Dao, the True Essence

Aurora Island.

Li Chunfeng from the Ten Thousand Islands Sect, was originally indulging frivolously with two women while watching Ye Chen face setbacks and obstacles.

When Ye Chen was welcomed onto Aurora Island by Isle Master Bai Yi, Li Chunfeng’s face suddenly turned hostile, and he clenched his hands on the two women.

Bang! Bang!

The soft flesh exploded into a mist of blood.

The two women showed painful expressions but dared not make a sound.

”Get out!”

Li Chunfeng shouted angrily.

The two women left.

Immediately after, a handsome man with a smiling face walked in and said, ”Brother Li, it’s just the beginning, why get so worked up?”

Li Chunfeng looked at the man and said, ”Bai Shize, this is your Bai Family’s Aurora Island, I’m not at liberty to act freely, you should know how to handle Ye Chen, right?”

The man named Bai Shize smiled faintly and said, ”Of course, I know.

I originally let that old fool Bai Xiong take people out without thinking that it would resolve Ye Chen; it was just to give him a warning. But unexpectedly, Ye Chen’s Sword Array methods caught our Island Master’s attention, resulting in this mishap.

But Brother Li, don’t worry. On Aurora Island, I Bai Shize have my ways to deal with Ye Chen.

However... Brother Li surely doesn’t just want to make Ye Chen lose face, right?”

Li Chunfeng said, ”Create some opportunities; I want to capture him.”

”Capturing Ye Chen, the rewards from Ten Thousand Islands Sect would be enough for Brother Li to rise to prominence.” Bai Shize’s eyes shone brightly, staring intently at Li Chunfeng.

Li Chunfeng snorted coldly and said, ”I’ll personally capture Ye Chen, then don’t bother thinking about the rewards from Ten Thousand Islands Sect. Once I get the rewards from Celestial Child Divine Island, I’ll share them with you.”

Bai Shize’s eyes narrowed slightly as he smiled and said, ”Deal.”

...

The sword pool on Aurora Island is not large; compared to the sword pool Ye Chen had seen at the Cangzhou Celestial Soldier Pavilion, it’s much smaller.

But...

In the sword pool at the Cangzhou Celestial Soldier Pavilion, countless Spirit Swords, Magic Swords, and some Dao Swords are used to nurture one Saint Sword.

Aurora Island’s sword pool, as Ye Chen glanced, had at least a hundred Saint Swords at the top, with the rest being superior Dao Swords at least, along with numerous swords at the Half-Saint weapon level.

The swords here, of various styles, emitted edges so sharp that even the air was filled with an exceedingly harsh aura.

”Truly deserving of Aurora Island, Saint Swords as abundant as a forest.” Ye Chen marveled.

This was not flattery, but genuine envy...

If all these were his... how wonderful it would be!

It seems the island’s past was indeed glorious, considering even after all these years, the Aurora Sword Emperor, who wasn’t a Great Emperor yet could battle one, left things that his unaccomplished descendants haven’t squandered...

Of course, that Aurora Island can still retain these things despite its current lack of strength is largely due to its unique geographic location.

This place is near the Celestial Burial Coffin.

No Great Emperor dares to come near.

Even Emperor Realm powerhouses must be extremely cautious when approaching, lest they face the power sanction of the Celestial Burial Coffin.

Bai Yi smiled faintly and said, ”Little brother, if you fancy any, feel free to take a Saint Sword.”

Ye Chen’s eyes flashed.

Suddenly, he changed his mind!

To take a Saint Sword now? Too unimpressive.

It’ll be hard to discuss renewing the Aurora Sword Array inheritance later.

”Isle Master Bai misunderstood,” Ye Chen said.

Bai Yi: ”Are these swords not to little brother’s liking?”

Ye Chen shook his head and said, ”The reason I followed Isle Master Bai here was just to see if Aurora Island’s sword pool was as I’ve heard. Now that I’ve seen it, that’s enough.

Though Saint Swords are precious, I have my Lifebound Sword.

My Sword Array consists of a set of swords; having more Saint Swords would disrupt the array’s balance and stability. Rather than waste one on me, it’d be better to leave them here for a destined Sword Dao Cultivator.”

Bai Yi’s gaze towards Ye Chen changed.

Previously, he thought Ye Chen was just a proud young man.

But now... his perception took a substantial turn.

Such a mindset is not something everyone possesses.

”Little brother’s noble character is admirable; I regret not asking how to address little brother earlier. May I know your name?”

”Ye Chen.”

With these two words,

Bai Yi’s expression changed again, this is no ordinary person! Someone who dares to confront a Great Emperor... even the Daoist of the Ten Thousand Islands Sect almost fell into his trap...

And, the once madman of the Celestial Burial Sea, Chi Mutian, is even Ye Chen’s friend across generations!

”No wonder little brother carries such an extraordinary demeanor, not like ordinary folk. It’s the renowned Ye Chen, Young Master Ye. Pardon my earlier disrespect,” Bai Yi laughed, knowing Ye Chen’s identity, his words carried an intent to build rapport with Ye Chen.

Nearby.

Great Guardian Bai Kai was a bit perplexed.

Was Ye Chen not here to obtain the Aurora Sword Dao inheritance?

What’s going on now?

Could it be, he truly intends to help Aurora Island renew the Sword Array inheritance? That’s no simple task; Ye Chen knows the Sword Array, but Aurora Island’s Sword Array is something else.

Moreover... with Saint Swords placed before Ye Chen, he still doesn’t want them... there’s quite a few top-tier Saint Swords in this sword pool!

”Rumors outside are not to be believed; Isle Master Bai should not fully trust them. I’m just a fledgling junior, unable to bear such excessive praise,” Ye Chen said with a calm tone and expression.

Now, it’s time to play the high-end disguise, must be as steady as an old dog!

”Young Master Ye is too modest; not to mention anything else, Young Master Ye’s Sword Array alone is exceptionally brilliant,”

Ye Chen: ”It’s just trivial tricks that aren’t worth mentioning, Isle Master Bai must be joking.”

Bai Yi said, ”If Young Master Ye’s Sword Array is merely trivial tricks, then there aren’t many sword arrays in the Celestial Burial Sea that can stand out.

Young Master Ye, I won’t beat around the bush. Aurora Island indeed urgently needs to restart the Sword Array inheritance. If Young Master Ye could assist, our Aurora Island would express the sincerest gratitude.”

”Isle Master Bai, the Sword Array inheritance on Aurora Island being so severely disrupted must have reasons unknown to outsiders, right?”

Bai Yi fell silent for a moment, then nodded, saying, ”Back then, our Bai Family ancestor, nearing his end, sealed the most powerful Aurora Sword Dao inheritance.

And the Aurora Sword Array was sealed along with it.

The Aurora Sword Array is the core of all Sword Arrays on Aurora Island. Without it, the other arrays lose their subtle transformations; even if learned, they only grasp the form but not the essence.”

”Why did the Aurora Sword Emperor seal the Aurora Sword Dao inheritance back then?”

Bai Yi’s corner of the mouth showed a bitter smile and said, ”Our ancestor was a very proud man... he believed that those unable to undo his seals were unworthy of learning his Aurora Sword Dao.

To find a suitable successor, the ancestor instructed that any Sword Dao genius from the Celestial Burial Sea could attempt to break the seal... anyone who can break the seal may obtain the true essence of his Sword Dao!

Even descendants of the Bai Family are treated equally without exception!”

Ye Chen showed a look of realization.

So that’s how it was.

Such a proud person doing unconventional things is quite normal.

The Aurora Sword Emperor back then was considered a prominent figure in the Celestial Burial Sea, a major force. He didn’t want his Sword Dao essence learned and tarnished by the mediocre, hence the current decline of Aurora Island.

Indeed, the Bai Family descendants on Aurora Island haven’t been successful; they’ve failed to break the seal for all these years.

After going in circles, Ye Chen found the situation returned to the original point.

The Aurora Sword Array is a part of the Aurora Sword Dao essence, sealed away... he still needs to obtain the Aurora Sword Dao inheritance first...

”Isle Master Bai, I wasn’t aware before, now it seems, I was too arrogant. The Sword Array inheritance on Aurora Island being sealed along with the Aurora Sword Dao essence for so many years with no one able to obtain it... I’ve even heard Liu Mubai from the Martial Alliance has been here several times... Liu Mubai’s Sword Dao talent, I greatly admire, yet he couldn’t succeed; I’m afraid I’m also powerless.”

Ye Chen tactfully shifted the topic towards his uncle Liu Mubai, aiming to gather more information.

”Indeed, Liu Mubai from the Martial Alliance has visited several times; he’s still in the forbidden area on Aurora Island. I believe Young Master Ye is too modest; in my view, Young Master Ye’s Sword Dao talent surpasses Liu Mubai.”

Bai Yi, seeing Ye Chen’s evasiveness, gritted his teeth and continued, ”If Young Master Ye can aid our Aurora Island in this significant matter, we will provide a set of Saint Swords for Young Master Ye to arrange the Sword Array!”

Ye Chen: ”...”

Finally opened up!

After all this talk, the man finally presented something substantial!

”As for the Saint Swords, they are of no concern. I’m truly interested in the essence of the Aurora Sword Dao, so I ask Isle Master Bai to arrange it, and I’ll try to break the seals left by the Aurora Sword Emperor now!”
