Chapter 448: Chapter 447: The True Martial Hall Situation and Building the Heavenly Gate

The reason Ye Chen so straightforwardly revealed the secret of his Demonic Qi to He Taiyuan was, first, because he trusted He Taiyuan, and second, to exchange information with He Taiyuan!

He saw He Taiyuan’s portrait in Shi Fengchun’s room.

Shi Fengchun was clearly very concerned about that portrait; there might be some unspeakable secret hidden in it, and Ye Chen hoped to find it out!

He Taiyuan had previously mentioned that within Celestial Cyan City, there were high-ranking insiders who had sided with the non-humans.

This made Ye Chen very uneasy.

Faced with Ye Chen’s question, He Taiyuan slightly furrowed his eyebrows and said, ”Do you know Shi Fengchun?”

Ye Chen said, ”Yes, I know him quite well. I’ve been to his room, and his room has your portrait, Elder He.”

He Taiyuan pondered for a moment, then said, ”I... am also from the True Martial Hall!”

Ye Chen was shocked at these words!

He had investigated He Taiyuan’s information but found nothing.

He Taiyuan said, ”You must have tried to find my information outside.”

Ye Chen nodded to acknowledge it; there was no need to hide this.

He Taiyuan sighed and said, ”You can’t find any information about me in Cangzhou, because I am from the Eastern Domain True Martial Hall Headquarters. As for Shi Fengchun, in a way, he’s my junior disciple. When he was young, due to some physical reasons, he was abandoned, and I brought him back to the True Martial Hall to pass on my master’s teachings.

I’m in charge of investigating a case at the Eastern Domain True Martial Hall Headquarters. Based on some clues, I came to Cangzhou, but as soon as I arrived, I encountered trouble and was trapped in the non-human’s outer realm.

Actually, the clues I’ve found only confirm that some traitors are related to high-ranking officials in Celestial Cyan City, but I haven’t determined exactly who it is yet.

However, I’m sure about one thing: Shi Fengchun is not a problem because, like me, he is a staunch supporter of the war faction!”

Ye Chen asked, ”Elder He, what is the war faction all about?”

At this point, He Taiyuan’s expression became very complex, and he said, ”The True Martial Hall has been resisting the non-humans for countless years, yet the calamity of the non-humans has never been resolved.

The hearts of people can waver.

Gradually, within the True Martial Hall, some suggested coexisting with the non-humans, which is the peace faction.

And there are others who uphold the True Martial Hall’s long-standing principle of fighting the non-humans to the end; this is the war faction.

In Cangzhou, you should know how fiercely the True Martial Hall in Cangzhou combats the non-humans, and all of this is because of Shi Fengchun.

Actually, in many areas of the Eastern Domain, some branch halls of the True Martial Hall have already lost the courage and fighting spirit to battle the non-humans.

In places managed by the peace faction, it may seem calm on the surface, but in the dark, non-humans act recklessly, and countless people have died horribly at the hands of non-humans.

Nowadays, the conflict between the war faction and the peace faction has almost reached an irreconcilable point.

The case I was investigating wasn’t actually directed at the peace faction. The peace faction’s approach towards the non-humans is only passive, not outright betrayal.

The real traitors have leaked many of our True Martial Hall’s important secrets, leading to severe damage to the True Martial Hall’s army by the non-humans.

The most serious incident among these was when the first legion of the True Martial Hall, the Black Armor Army, was completely wiped out three thousand years ago!”

Ye Chen’s thoughts also became complicated.

The complete annihilation of the True Martial Hall’s first legion, the Black Armor Army, three thousand years ago... Ye Chen knew about this, and there was a connection between it and him!

The lingering will of the Black Armor Army had once helped Ye Chen to slay the Prime Minister of the Great Zhou Dynasty, Yan Song, with a single sword!

”Blood stains the sky, yet fear not!”

”Corpses pave the road, not retreating a single step!”

Ye Chen slowly spoke these words, each resounding with strength.

He Taiyuan was once again shocked, his breathing becoming rapid, as he said, ”The matter of the Black Armor Army was sealed by the True Martial Hall. How... do you know their orders before every expedition...”

With a thought, Ye Chen summoned the token he acquired back then from his Storage Ring, letting it float out.

A few days ago, Tian Bugui and Su Yun had examined Ye Chen’s Storage Ring and saw the token, but showed no reaction, clearly not recognizing it.

However, upon seeing the token now, He Taiyuan had an intense reaction, his whole body trembling as he held the token with shaking hands.

”War...”

”This is the token of Shen Zhan, the commander of the Black Armor Army three thousand years ago!”

”Asura, how did you obtain this token?”

With the token revealed, Ye Chen had no need to hide anything further and explained the matter of the lingering will of the Black Armor Army.

After listening, tears of muddy fervor rolled down from He Taiyuan’s remaining eye.

”This... is our True Martial Hall’s first legion!” He Taiyuan’s voice trembled.

When Ye Chen first came into contact with this matter, he was deeply moved.

And it was clear that He Taiyuan had much more exposure to these events, so Ye Chen could understand why he reacted so intensely.

”Elder He, before General Shen’s lingering spirit dissipated, he left behind a message that might help you in your investigation.”

”What clue did General Shen leave?” At this moment, He Taiyuan’s state was like a drowning man grasping a straw.

”Among the seven Grand Elders of the True Martial Hall, there is a traitor,” Ye Chen truthfully revealed.

He Taiyuan listened, initially full of disbelief, then anger, and finally his expression returned to normal, but Ye Chen could see a newfound determination in He Taiyuan’s eyes!

This was a resolve to investigate to the end.

”Asura, do not speak of this matter outside, not even to my junior disciple Shi Fengchun, as it involves the highest level of conflict within the True Martial Hall. If the Cangzhou True Martial Hall gets involved, it could become another Black Armor Army!”

Saying this, He Taiyuan returned the token to Ye Chen, saying, ”Keep the token safe as well; in the True Martial Hall, there are still followers of Shen Zhan, and it will be of great use at critical times.”

Although Shen Zhan’s matter happened three thousand years ago,

it is not surprising at all that the True Martial Hall still has followers of Shen Zhan.

The lifespan of strong individuals is exceptionally long!

Ye Chen secured the token.

This item should be placed within the Sword Tomb next to keep it safe.

Then, Ye Chen said, ”Elder He, since the problem within the True Martial Hall is already so severe, does the Hall Master of the Eastern Domain True Martial Hall not care?”

He Taiyuan gave a wry smile and said, ”The accumulated problems cannot be changed so easily. The motives of the Eastern Domain True Martial Hall Master are also quite intriguing.”

”Does he also have issues?”

He Taiyuan shook his head and said, ”If the Hall Master had problems, the Eastern Domain True Martial Hall would have long been in shambles. It’s just that some of his actions, perhaps I’m not on the level to understand.”

Ye Chen casually remarked, ”That old guy probably isn’t a good person either, not keeping his promises.”

He Taiyuan, ”... How do you know...”

Ye Chen, ”...”

It seems that old guy is a habitual liar!

”Previously, his Primordial Spirit manifested, saying he would reward me, but alas, I’ve been in the True Martial Hall for nearly half a year, and not a single reward in sight.”

He Taiyuan looked at Ye Chen and meaningfully said, ”Asura, do not speak of these matters to others from the outer realm.”

It was already too obvious.

If someone wanted to investigate, the clues revealed from these words alone could easily lead them to identify his identity in the outside world.

Ye Chen acknowledged with a ”hmm” and said, ”I understand this well.”

He only discussed this with He Taiyuan.

He Taiyuan, with almost his own strength, supported the humans’ survival space in the outer realm, and this alone warranted complete trust!

If not concerned about the well-being of thousands of humans, the amount of Power of Rules he possessed in the outer realm would have been enough to guarantee him a comfortable and leisurely life there.

Continuing, Ye Chen said, ”Elder He, I have some rather important matters to attend to outside, so I’ll be leaving first. I’ll definitely be here for the hunt in a month!”

After saying this, Ye Chen, with a thought, withdrew from the outer realm.

As he breached the world’s barrier of the outer realm and turned back for a glance, his expression suddenly froze.

Under the observation of the Martial Arts Celestial Eye, a group of non-humans was constructing a heavenly gate, seemingly preparing to open a passage to the Human Race World!

Ye Chen’s eyes flickered, and he didn’t rush to leave immediately!
