Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 103: Chapter 97: Melancholic Man (Chapter 9)

Regarding breakfast, Su Yue explained that he had no appetite, so he just took a couple of bites to fill his stomach.

This week, the meals could only be like this.

”Su Yue, this is the Fearless Badge awarded to you by the Yu Liang City Commandant. Inside this card is 8 million in cash, which is the share of the ticket sales from your fight with Bai Zhao, including the reward from the Yu Liang City government!”

Sun Zhiwei handed a badge and a card to Su Yue.

”Wow, they granted it so quickly, 8 million, not a bad haul!”

Su Yue nodded in satisfaction.

”8 million in cash is nothing; you should be happy about the Fearless Badge.”

Dai Yuegui said.

”Badge?”

Su Yue picked up the silver badge, somewhat indifferent.

Because of Xiong Taiguang’s connection, Su Yue didn’t have much fondness for badges.

”Su Yue, you’re still young and don’t yet know the preciousness of badges!

”Everyone gets old eventually, and when you do, you’ll understand the significance of these badges. They are a testament to your lifelong martial path.

”Behind every badge, there is a glorious story.

”For example, this Fearless Badge represents the first time you challenged yourself and succeeded. It’s embarrassing to say, I’ve lived for quite a time and haven’t earned even a single badge; my martial life has no remarkable highlights to be commemorated.”

Looking at Su Yue’s badge, Sun Zhiwei was full of envy.

”Instructor, don’t lose heart.

”Even though you don’t have these tangible things, you have nurtured a recipient of the Fearless Badge, and that’s your pinnacle, haha!”

The atmosphere was a bit heavy, so Su Yue quickly lightened the mood.

”Haha, you crafty kid, you almost had me believing it!”

Sun Zhiwei laughed.

”Su Yue, there’s still half a year until the college entrance exam, what are your plans?

”A second bone-wash is extremely difficult. You might be underestimating its difficulty!”

Dai Yuegui said with a furrowed brow.

He hopes someone can successfully perform a bone-wash, but the second wash is beyond limits and indeed too hard.

”Su Yue, actually, a few months ago, the curriculum of the potential class was no longer sufficient for you.

”And the path you’re going to take next, Instructor Dai and I are both clueless about, so we wanted to see your thoughts!”

Sun Zhiwei added.

Su Yue’s situation truly made the teachers feel a bit awkward.

They couldn’t even achieve a second wash, let alone the golden bone image.

Truly shameful.

”Instructor, I’m currently at a loss. I originally intended to discuss it with you.

”Do you have any opinions?”

Su Yue asked with a frown.

He was genuinely confused.

”The two of us stayed up all night and came up with a few plans!

”First, you directly seal your grade, and then cultivate according to the method of a first-grade martial artist, but this plan is practically impossible.

”Second, you go to the speed class, under load, and run, which might increase some Qi Blood, but it’s very slow and extremely time-consuming.

”Third, we teach you two battle techniques in advance. During these six months, you’ll focus on training in battle techniques, and when you go to Wuda, you’ll think of ways for a bone wash.”

Dai Yuegui proposed three suggestions.

Of course, the first and second have no real significance.

The first is impossible.

The second is a waste of time.

This was just to respect Su Yue and asking casually.

Ultimately, only the third option remained.

Training in battle techniques, theoretically, won’t increase Qi Blood, but the potential class no longer had any good methods to help Su Yue improve.

This was the only way.

Six months shouldn’t be wasted; training in some battle techniques will give him self-protection abilities when he goes to the mire realm in the future.

”Battle techniques?

”What kind of battle techniques?”

Sure enough, Su Yue was very interested.

”Your Qi Blood value has reached 34 cards, and you’ve mastered the Withered Step and Elemental Blade Technique, which is enough to prove your talent is extraordinary.

”Originally, we didn’t want you to train in battle techniques to prevent you from neglecting Qi Blood, but there are no such restrictions on you, and you don’t need to be bound by any school.

”We researched a bit. In terms of speed, you’ve trained in Withered Step, which is sufficient for now.

”In terms of attack power, you have the Vigorous Fist and Elemental Blade Technique. You’re practically invincible in the first-grade realm.

”Finally, we selected two types of battle techniques that you can try to train in over these six months!”

Dai Yuegui took out two sealed books.

[Turtle Shell Technique]

[Little Lingbo Step]

”The Turtle Shell Technique is a defensive battle technique. The reason why you were in danger in the battle with Bai Zhao was the lack of strong defensive techniques.

”This Turtle Shell Technique is almost the best technique below the third grade.

”It uses clothing as a carrier to activate Qi Blood, condensing small shield-like protections to absorb damage for you. The deeper your understanding of the Turtle Shell Technique, the more shields you can condense.”

”Unfortunately, the Turtle Shell Technique has a fatal flaw. It requires specially made soft armor to function at its best. If worn with regular clothes, the shield will be formed, and the clothes will also be torn.

”However, you don’t have to worry about the soft armor. Once you go to Wuda, you can use school credits to exchange for it with the Ministry of Education.

”As far as I know, among all soft armors, the plough leather armor is the best.”

Dai Yuegui said.

”Plough leather armor?”

Su Yue silently remembered this item.

Armor?

Could it be, like ancient generals, gleaming all over?

”Plowhide Battle Armor, the main material is the hide of a beast from the wetland. It’s not as thin as a cicada’s wings, but it’s about as thick as thermal pants. Wearing it feels like wearing a full-body thermal suit, with no burden, but it’s really tough. Ordinary blades find it hard to cut through.

”Unfortunately, Plowhide Battle Armor is rare and expensive, and it cannot be sold to the public. The Education Bureau of Cengxi City simply doesn’t have it.”

Sun Zhiwei said.

Actually, it’s not that the Education Bureau can’t buy it, but there’s no need to waste that money.

The purpose of the Education Bureau is to cultivate a large number of college entrance exam students.

For just one Su Yue, waste millions on clothes?

Crazy?

The instructors were hiding some things from Su Yue.

Actually, since Su Yue successfully cleansed his bones, his value had already reached a bottleneck.

To put it more brutally.

If it weren’t for Dai Yuegui’s strong argument, the Education Bureau might have stopped allocating resources towards Su Yue.

It’s unavoidable.

A golden bone phenomenon is enough for the Education Bureau to meet its targets.

As for the remaining funds, it’s better to invest in other students. No matter how exceptional Su Yue is, the benefits the Education Bureau can gain from him are minimal.

Second cleansing?

Nobody in the Education Bureau believes it, let alone invests in it.

That’s a foolish bottomless pit.

”So it’s like a full-body thermal suit, got it.

”No worries, I’ll focus on practicing my combat techniques first. When I get to Wuda, exchanging won’t be an issue.”

Su Yue nodded.

He understood in his heart that the Education Bureau couldn’t be expected to buy him clothes; their task is to cultivate students, not warriors.

”Instructor, is this Little Lingbo Step the same as Duan Yu’s Wave Gliding Step?”

Su Yue asked again.

”Too many martial artists have been poisoned by martial arts novels.

”Your Dry Step focuses on jump height, while this Little Lingbo Step mainly practices the agility of dodging and moving.

”The predecessor who created this Little Lingbo Step was a martial arts fan, and when he wanted to register Wave Gliding Step, the government had already registered it, so he had to change the name to avoid infringement.”

Dai Yuegui shook his head.

”So that’s how it is.”

Su Yue suddenly understood, there was such a thing as infringement.

”For the remaining half year, the Qi Blood Pill from the Education Bureau is still four per month. Your class leader gets an extra one, and you have free time for other activities.

”Because other students also need to practice, I can’t secure more resources.”

Dai Yuegui felt a bit apologetic.

”Haha, Instructor Dai, what are you talking about? You’ve already helped me a lot.

”I still have 8 million in prize money here, enough to splurge for the next half year, so you don’t need to worry.

”For the next half year, you must focus on guiding the other classmates well, let’s aim for no failures in our potential class.

Su Yue said hastily.

”Alright, I’ll do my best!”

Dai Yuegui nodded, his eyes a bit wet.

If the entire class can get into Wuda, then Dai Yuegui would be truly successful and famous.

A potential class with a single golden bone phenomenon, and everyone else meeting the admission criteria, just thinking about it is exciting.

”I have something else to attend to. Let Instructor Sun take care of the rest!”

Dai Yuegui patted Su Yue on the shoulder, turned around, and left.

...

”This Instructor Dai, he’s quite the sentimental man; he even cried!”

After Dai Yuegui had left, Su Yue looked at Sun Zhiwei and said.

”He’s happy for you.

”After buying the Bone-Washing Water, Instructor Dai’s savings were almost gone, and he even got the two combat techniques by asking the government to allow him to pay in installments.

”Of course, you shouldn’t feel guilty. The combat techniques are just over a hundred thousand, and we brothers split the cost; it’s no big deal. And don’t ever give him money; it would hurt his pride. Instructor Dai has his own dignity, and he can’t accept your life-risking money.”

Sun Zhiwei’s eyes were also a bit red.

Actually, there were some things they couldn’t tell Su Yue.

Because of the Qi Blood Pills, Dai Yuegui had countless arguments with the bureau chief, but ultimately there was nothing he could do, rules are rules.

”These two combat techniques, I will practice them to perfection and not let Instructor Dai’s hard work go to waste.”

Su Yue nodded.

He would accept these things for now and repay them slowly when he becomes successful.

Giving Dai Yue money now would be truly humiliating, making him feel useless.

”Instructor, use this 3 million to buy me Qi Blood Pills first.

”Once I’m healed, I plan to go to tier-A arena.

”Back then, Bai Zhao could exhaust a second-class martial artist. I want to try it too, using the second-class martial artists as free sparring partners. Anyway, as a King, I can challenge them; it’s a chance I shouldn’t waste!”

Su Yue said.

”I heard from Wang Boyan that you can already withstand many of his moves, continuing like this might not be very meaningful.

”Bai Zhao might have exhausted second-class martial artists, but he still had no chance of winning. A second-class is a second-class; you simply can’t defeat one.”

Sun Zhiwei frowned.

”I’ll find a way to increase my load, and can practice the Little Lingbo Step on the side, there’s no better method right now anyway.”

Su Yue spoke as he held up the Little Lingbo Step.

”Well, if you don’t use your Dry Step and Superior Blade, a second-class martial artist can crush you completely; it’s a method, but make sure to be extremely careful!”

Sun Zhiwei advised a few more things, then peeled an apple for Su Yue and left.

Su Yue sat on the hospital bed, holding the peeled apple.

To eat?

Or not to eat?

The apple was already peeled—if he didn’t eat it, it’d be a waste. But eating it... would just feel like chewing wax.
