Chapter 2037: Clash of other groups

Iron Bell City

I exited the Iron Bell City at midnight. The zero puppet in its red smoke form followed me. I didn’t bring the members with me.

I’m not going to confront them or stop the plundering. I’m just going to watch everything from the sidelines to collect evidence.

I already shielded my mana presence. So no one can sense me now. Right then, the system started giving me a warning.

There are eight wizards hiding a couple hundred meters away from me. I’m moving a few inches above the ground.

Otherwise, I would be easily spotted. Knowing their exact distance, I paused my footsteps. I looked around and found a tree shade nearby.

I went to the nearest tree and landed on one of the wide branches. The red smoke appeared behind me.

”Do you have a recording stone?” I asked.

The zero puppet then transformed into the steel knight. It held the white crystal in its hand.

I saw the crystal and picked it up. It’s one of those magic products. Traditional cameras and other gadgets are not wise to use.

The opponents might have things to detect them. But recording stones are different. They are rare not easily available like tech gadgets.

Only people with influence or from big forces can afford them. The enemy out there wouldn’t have imagined someone is using a recording stone right now.

The zero puppet then transformed back into its red smoke form.

Then we began to wait. From time to time, I used the system to check the eight wizards. They didn’t know our presence.

But I was stunned after checking their ages and profiles. All of them were experts. Their magic spells were powerful, and some were new to me.

Some of the spells were unheard of. But they were all related to puppet magic.

I thought of the zero puppet. Though the zero puppet is a puppet, it was different from a corpse puppet.

It had fused with two living artifacts.

Meanwhile,

The eight wizards were staying still like frozen puppets. If someone walked by them, they wouldn’t sense the presence of life.

They were that careful. But they didn’t know they were already exposed. Someone was watching them in secret.

30 minutes later,

A modern black aircraft appeared in the sky. Inside, the Magic Lord and Supreme Wizards were vigilant.

Magic Lord Wesley was especially vigilant. He wondered why no attack had happened yet. The previous consignments had been robbed.

Wesley looked ahead. He saw the city wall in the distance. They had almost reached Iron Bell City.

Boom!

Suddenly, a tree branch shot at them like a wire.

The attack was from such close quarters that even Magic Lord Wesley failed to detect it. The vine attacked the aircraft.

Boom!

A blast occurred. The aircraft lost control and went toward the ground, slanting. In the blink of an eye, the aircraft crashed to the ground.

The Magic Lord, the Supreme Wizards, and the pilots exited the aircraft a couple of seconds earlier.

The Magic Lord had already collected the consignment into his storage ring.

The consignment is not ordinary. It cannot be stored in a storage ring for a long time.

Otherwise, there would be no need for special transport services.

The product needed to be handed over to the company soon.

All of them were standing in mid-air, looking at their surroundings. They wanted to know who attacked them.

Boom!

Next, more and more branches came shooting toward them. The whereabouts of the eight wizards were exposed.

Magic Lord Wesley spotted them. His eyes flashed with a cold glint. He looked toward the spot. He cast a magic spell.

”Earth Spikes.”

A large yellow-colored magic circle appeared in mid-air. In the blink of an eye, smaller yellow magic circles appeared before them.

Boom!

Powerful, sharp earth spikes were released from the magic circles the next moment.

Like shooting stars, they flew toward the trees. In a flash, they landed on the trees and the ground with heavy force.

Boom!

A huge explosion occurred. The ground cracked. Other earth spikes pinned into the earth with powerful force, cracking the ground further in all directions.

The remaining earth spikes cleaved the massive tree into two. The terrain here changed. The flat ground had become uneven.

The aftermath caused a shockwave. The shock force spread across the place, reaching up to a few hundred meters.

The eight wizards were affected as well. They had avoided the earth spikes successfully,

but they had exposed themselves in the process.

Meanwhile,

I was recording the scene with the recording stone. I had withstood the shock force earlier.

I didn’t expect the aircraft to carry the Magic Lord and Supreme Wizards. They must have come to find the attackers.

On the other hand, I was curious about the consignment as well.

What made the company use a transport aircraft instead of having someone carry the objects in a storage ring?

Earlier, I hadn’t paid attention to this matter. But I think that has changed now. My gaze fell on the damaged aircraft.

”System, check whether the aircraft has special goods inside,” I asked the system in my mind.

[Ding! The aircraft is empty. No goods were inside.]

I heard the system voice in my mind. My eyes flashed with understanding. The Magic Lord or another wizard must have taken the consignment into their storage ring.

I continued to record the footage. I witnessed the powerful earth magic spell of the Magic Lord.

Boom!

One after another, the enemy wizards cast magic spells in return. They targeted the Supreme Wizards and the Magic Lord.

Four of the eight attacks reached the Magic Lord.

Magic Lord Wesley cast another magic spell in response. He knew the power of the supreme wizards, even if they were not Magic Lords.

If they worked together, their magic spells could hurt a Magic Lord.

Boom!

A thick wall over 50 meters tall appeared before him. The next second, the attacks landed on the wall. The wall exploded, but the power failed to reach Magic Lord Wesley.
