Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1202: Part 1: Head Howardʼs task

From MCʼs Perspective:

The following day,

When I entered the Special Mage Department, I was quickly summoned by Elder Paul Lin. I immediately knew something was up. He wouldnʼt ask me to come without any reason.

About a few minutes later, I arrived at his cabin.

Creak!

I opened the door to enter. When I walked inside, I saw him sitting behind the desk, but his expression was not good. I closed the door and sat opposite him.

Paul Lin raised his head. He looked into Vincentʼs eyes before saying, ”I donʼt know whether to call it good luck or bad luck. Head Howard has assigned a secret mission for you.”

Hearing that, my heart skipped a beat. I had a bad feeling that it was something to do with the Anderson Family.

”Looking at your expression, I think you have already guessed it right. Itʼs related to the Anderson Family,” Paul Lin said in a grave tone.

”Elder, what happened? I just returned from that dangerous place not long ago,” I asked, sounding disappointed.

”Now, everyone knows that the relationship between our two forces has soured. The Anderson Family refuses to admit their wrongdoing.”

”Not only that, but they are also refusing to give back our captured wizards. Some of the captured wizards are from the Aristocratic Families.”

”This time, everyone is rallying behind Head Howard to rescue the captured wizards,” Elder Paul Lin said.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I knew that members were captured, but I didnʼt expect some of them to be from the Aristocratic Faction.

”No,” The next second, I shook my head. It smells of conspiracy.

Wizards from the Bloodline Beast Department were already stalking me. If they were really behind Head Howard, then why did they have time to stalk me?

”Vincent?” Paul called out.

Hearing that, I looked at Elder and asked, ”Elder, do you believe them?”

”They might well use this opportunity to damage Head Howard and his supporters,” I added.

To that, Paul Lin smiled.

”It seems your observation skills are good as well. No wonder you were able to do well in the intel gathering mission,” Paul Lin said. He couldnʼt even feel envy.

The young man in front of him is talented. Not only is he a rare Sub-Taboo Gravity Wizard, but he also has skills in the intel gathering field. No wonder he was backed by the Mage Union.

”Vincent, we already looked into this. Donʼt underestimate the background of the True Elements Society.”

”The Aristocratic Faction may have different thoughts, but donʼt forget we have Magic Palace Masters with us. They donʼt interfere in organization affairs.”

”But during situations like this, they will definitely come out to aid. So these people donʼt have any other choice but to work as one,” Paul Lin said.

”Palace Masters, huh?” I uttered.

I almost forgot about their existence, but I still felt that something was wrong with the Aristocratic Faction. But he wouldnʼt believe me without evidence.

”So what is the mission?” I asked.

”Head Howard wants you to infiltrate the Anderson Family territory to find the location of the captured wizards,” Paul Lin said with expectation in his eyes.

My heart set off storms. Just yesterday, I had engraved the 10th Magic Spell. Now, they were asking me to take such a risk.

”Elder, itʼs impossible to do it. Itʼs a suicide mission,” I said with anger. It seemed I had shocked everyone with my intel gathering talent. Itʼs backfiring on me right now.

Paul Lin wasnʼt surprised because everyone expected this response. Asking a level-6 Wizard to take on this dangerous mission is not a joke. He would have felt something amiss if Vincent accepted the mission right away.

”Head Howard discussed the mission with Elder Stella and me earlier. He was impressed by your previous mission. Even Elder Stella thinks that only you can complete this mission.”

”I know we are asking you too much, but we know what you want. Head Howard asked me to convey this to you: if you are able to complete this mission...”

”Then he will personally go and collect Gravity Magic-related resources,” Paul Lin said in a serious tone.

When he finished saying this, my brain only captured his last sentence.

”Head Howard will personally collect Gravity Magic resources,” I muttered.

”Yes, itʼs true. We know itʼs too much to ask you. Head Howard knows that the Mage Union supports you. He wouldnʼt ask you to take on this for no reason,” Paul Lin said.

”Think carefully. Head Howard is a Mage Lord. He has many connections and knows many influential people from different countries,” he added.

”Alright, I will do it,” I replied with a heavy expression on my face. If Head Howard helps me, then I will grow faster and graduate from this organization before the end of the 4th year.

Then I thought of something before asking, ”Then who will send me there? I donʼt think itʼs safe to travel on an airship.”

”Ha... Ha... Ha..., you donʼt have to worry. Head Howard will personally take you there. He has been visiting the Anderson Family very often.”

”No one is going to suspect him,” Paul Lin said.

I didnʼt know whether to laugh or cry. It seemed everything was pre-planned. Before I could ask further, he said, ”If you are ready, Iʼll inform Elder Stella.”

I nodded to him.

Elder Paul Lin informed Elder Stella in front of me. She would call Head Howard directly.

Shortly afterward,

Elder Paul Lin received a call back from Elder Stella. He spoke for a few minutes before ending the call.

He said, ”Head Howard will take you there in the evening, so it will help you hide from unwanted people.”

”Good,” I replied.

Head Howard was thoughtful. Itʼs not easy to do a mission in broad daylight. Then I stood up from the seat to leave.

”Elder, Iʼm going back to the dorm. Call me before Head arrives,” I said.

”Okay, I will look for life-saving items in the meantime,” Paul Lin said.

Then I left his cabin and headed straight toward the exit.

After leaving the Special Mage Department, I quickly returned to the dorm building.
