Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1747 Inside Track [Bonus]

”Young master, young master, what do we do?”

The A-tier panicked, his feigned calm from previously unable to restrain his anxiety. He would usually try to be more composed, but this was too much.

They were watching decades of effort slip away.

No, that only represented the effort of Rhykan alone, but how many Purvon in the past had laid the foundation so that he could soar today? They had climbed up from the rankings of the weakest Thryskai to get to where they were today, and now they were about to lose all of that?

Rhykan didnʼt reply.

”He wonʼt do it, right? He knows better... that must be it,” the A-tier mumbled to himself.

”Elder Sun,” Rhykan said calmly.

The A-tier froze, gripping his fists to stop his hands from trembling.

However, what Rhykan said next left Elder Sun stunned. Rather than a punishment like he was expecting, it was something totally different.

”He dares to do anything. That look confirmed it. We have likely lost a clear path to Demi-Godhood. News will come down pretty soon. And by news, I mean youʼll feel it.”

Elder Sun completely blanched. He didnʼt know how to respond to this, nor did he understand how Rhykan could possibly be so calm.

”There are certain things in life you have to do even if it costs you. Itʼs too convenient to use him, but he is too good at not being used. The longer our relationship lasts, the more reliant I would grow on him. Heʼs a Swiss army knife like no other and I would lose any need for my own edge with him in my palm.

”Even if we made it to Demi-God, we would never make it to Godhood. My sights arenʼt aimed so low.”

Elder Sunʼs pupils trembled. Slowly, he began to truly calm down.

”What are your commands, young master?”

”He will give this Karma to the Weaver Guild.”

”Not his own Clan?”

”No. Youʼve already sensed it, he already had such an opportunity but he didnʼt take it. Heʼs willing to risk himself, but there are those he cares about that he isnʼt willing to risk. If it was just a matter of himself, maybe he would have personally taken it already. But there is a middle ground that allows him to benefit while gaining a shield.”

”Will we be attacking the Weaver Guild, then?”

”No. Wouldnʼt that just be the same matter? Iʼd just be being led by the nose through a different matter. Thereʼs a much more interesting play here.”

Elder Sunʼs eyes glowed. ”Your wish is my command.”

”The Seeing Eye Guild. Itʼs curious that they were so eager to win, donʼt you think? Itʼs also quite peculiar that an A-tier with so many grandchildren and so many years of separation from her descendants would care so much about the death of one... Salivar Entrim, was it?”

Elder Sunʼs eyes looked to only be glowing more fiercely.

”Also, why are there two such high-level Madness Disciples here?”

”Two?”

Rhykan didnʼt explain, his gaze focused on the region the Sloth had long disappeared from. He hadnʼt been sure before, but the Slothʼs actions... he always seemed to react the exact same as the Glutton in response to things Sylas did.

Not only that, but he also seemed to interact with Sylas as though he already knew him.

”Thereʼs another matter going on here. I need more information.”

”Then?”

”Apply some pressure on the Seeing Eye Guild, not too overtly. Just make them feel like the Thryskai arenʼt happy with their lack of resistance. Make them fight the war for us.”

”And Sylas?”

Rhykan didnʼt say anything for a long while, it was almost to the point Elder Sun almost left thinking that he didnʼt have any intention to speak on the topic for the time being.

But then he suddenly did say something.

”The Summoning of Earth will be complete soon. Just let the Sona and Buri know.”

”Right away, young master.”

”And one more thing,” Rhykan said calmly.

”Yes?”

”The Rat has been injured for a bit too long, donʼt you think?”

Elder Sun shuddered.

Too long? It hadnʼt even been a year. Sylas would probably be expecting an injury like that to take at least a decade more to finish handling.

”Call in a favor from Halikurn.”

Elder Sunʼs eyes widened.

Rhykan wanted to use a favor from the Demi-Gods... but not to help deal with this slip-up, but instead to help heal the Rat? What the hell was he thinking?

Elder Sun swallowed up his thoughts.

”Yes, young master. Right away.”

Rhykan waved a hand and Elder Sun hurried away.

The young heir stood in silence for a long time before he looked down at his hand. He realized that it was actually shaking.

But it wasnʼt out of nervousness, or fear... it was out of excitement.

Something big was going on in this Seeing Eye Guild, he could feel it. He had given Elder Sun a whole host of responsibilities, but there was only one that he really cared about.

There was a reason he had spoken out his name so clearly.

WHOOSH. WHOOSH. WHOOSH.

Several powerful auras surrounded his building, Legends in larger numbers than they should ever appear hovering just outside his windows, a protection that was entirely meaningless.

”Why donʼt you all come inside. We have much to discuss.”

Rhykan lost his inside path to Demi-God. But he felt like Sylas had just given him a path to Godhood on a silver platter.

The Seeing Eye Guild would become a nice, obedient little pawn very soon.

He had just had the thought when he shuddered, feeling as though something had just been stripped from him.

”What?” Rhykan lost his focus for a moment, looking out toward the distance.

Sylas had just done something he didnʼt account for at all.

Sylas stood with his eyes closed, his head pointed toward the skies above. He was as calm as could be, the dried blood that caked his body not affecting him in the slightest.

But he wasnʼt on Planet Weaver.

He wasnʼt on Planet Earth either.

He had teleported himself right to the 001 Sanctum.
