Chapter 1083: Fell the Strongest

—

[Title Upgraded]

[Grade Slayer > King Slayer]

[A Slayer faces a dauntless task: to fell the strongest of the strong, and to do so with an unfazed spirit and a fathomless heart. Standing before the powerful, you are unmoved and unbothered, the depths of your Will carrying with it the strength to face the true menace of the world with the gaze of a Hero.]

[Ignore D-Grade Suppression]

—

[System-Wide Message]

[The Hero Line System has been unlocked. As the first Hero of the Milky Way, Sylas Grimblade will be awarded the Bloodline Title of {Dauntless Spirit}.]

-

[Royal Line Detected]

-

[Reward Adjusted]

-

[Hero Sylas Grimblade has successfully established the Foundation of a Golden Royal Hero Line.]

—

The notifications came even faster than what Sylas had faced off against when he successfully transferred an Overlord status to Nosphaleen.

ʼHero…ʼ

As much knowledge as Sylas had now, he actually didnʼt know what a Hero Line was. But judging by the rest of it, it should have something to do with a Royal Line, obviously.

Sylas had a Royal already. Or, rather, he had the chance to establish one and a scroll for it and everything. But he hadnʼt started because he didnʼt even know where to begin.

It was only after his time with the UniForm that he had gained some inkling, but now he had to deal with this situation, so he wasnʼt even sure when he would have time to deal with all of this.

But who would have known that before he could even do that, he would be rewarded as a Hero.

The question was… was this Hero Line purely something of the olden system? Or was it something the new system would understand once it came back?

And if Sylas was confused about what a Hero Line was, would others be confused about it too?

Honestly, it didnʼt matter too much to Sylas right now anyway. With how hunted he was being, this wouldnʼt change much at all.

The worst-case scenario was that this news would leak outside of the Milky Way Galaxy and cause him more trouble. He might not know what a Hero Line was, but he certainly knew that anything with the ”Gold” Grade attached to it was bound to be absolutely ridiculous.

Sylas didnʼt feel any changes to his body at all… except that he felt more relaxed, almost as though his body was more limber. Adjusting to his new eyes was definitely taxing on him and had taken up a large segment of his new Silver Grade Genes. But now, he felt like he could even aim for Tier 3 of his eyes right now.

Of course, that wouldnʼt be smart regardless, but the fact it was a possibility was fascinating.

ʼA Hero Line, huh? What would happen if I killed a C-Grade at F-Grade?ʼ

There was a flash in Sylasʼ eyes, and he looked down at the Madness Key. It had been a while since he asked it any questions.

—

[What is a Hero Line?]

[A Hero Line is a relic of a past system, also known as the Legendary System by many. It was a chance granted to those born not of Royal Lines to make a name for themselves and establish a new sort of path in the future.]

[Families established through Hero Lines, however, often had to make far more sacrifices than those of Royal Lines. This was because unless certain Quests were cleared, and the Spirit of a Hero was displayed in every generation, the Spark that lit the Hero Line would slowly die out.]

[Because of this, Hero Lines tend to last a far shorter period of time than Royal Lines do.]

—

Sylas raised a brow in surprise. The Madness Key actually answered a question about the old system, and there was no penalty. He couldnʼt help but wonder if that was because the Legendary System was active in their galaxy now, or if that was because he was now a Level 3 Madness Disciple.

—

[What happens if a Hero and Royal Line fuse?]

[Royal Hero Lines were undoubtedly the strongest of the Legendary System Era. These Lines combined the best of both worlds, forming a foundation of Royal Blood, while also giving each successive generation a chance to improve upon the Foundation with Heroic Feats of power and strength.]

[Those of Royal Hero Lines were the most favored by the Legendary System and were also given the greatest opportunities. However, heavy is the head that wears the crown.]

[Royal Hero Lines tended to flame out even faster than Hero Lines because as much as the Legendary System gave, it also demanded all the more.]

—

Sylasʼ eyes slowly narrowed when he saw this.

The path to building a Royal Line was simple enough. It would start with building what was known as a Bloodline Foundation.

This was actually quite similar to building an F-Grade Foundation. In fact, it was so similar that they could technically be said to be one and the same.

An F-Grade Foundation needed to be built as a stepping stone to enter the E-Grade. One would form it using all of the F-Grade Genes, Skills, Classes, Professions, and even Titles that you had gathered.

Once everything was compressed down to the deepest depths of your body, the Foundation would be complete, and you could then use it as a stepping stone to take a leap into the next Tier.

The process of creating a Royal Line was all the same. The only difference was that a link would be formed between it and your Bloodline. Depending on the Grade of the Bloodline, from Sylasʼ understanding, one could have oneʼs Foundation link from the Blood Essence Layer of the body all the way up to Race Quintessence.

Genes. Gene Talents. Blood Essence. Bone Essence. Comprehension. Soul Constructs. Will Manifestation. Will Core. And finally, Race Quintessence.

As one could see, the gaps between a Bloodline established at the third Layer versus the ninth were enormous.

But…

—

[What Layer of the body is a Hero Line established on?]

-

[The weakest Hero Lines are formed at the Soul Construct Layer.]
