Genetic Ascension

Chapter 808  NEW!! (2)

For the first time, Sylas activated his Glassvolt Comprehension and his body seemed to spark with life. Lightning twitched within his body, forming a connection with the foundation he had laid with his Blood and Bone Essence.

There was… a very good reason that he had used the Dustspark corpses to finish his Body Essence Refinement.

It wasnʼt just a matter of having powerful Blood and Bone Essence to use.

It was also a matter of having the right type.

And due to that, the moment his Glassvolt Comprehension activated, the bolt of rainbow lightning that descended from the skies seemed to change in character.

[>Semi-Reversal] (NEW!!)

—

This new ability had a simple function. It was used to revert Serpentes back to a previous state, undoing an evolution in order to give them a chance at advantage again in a more perfect way.

This ability didnʼt seem to have anything to do with the current situation. What good was this in the middle of battle?

Well… Semi-Reversal also worked on unwilling targets so long as the circumstances were right.

In fact, Sylas had realized that Taboo Bond would also work on Serpentes that were unwilling, whereas usually he could only use it on the dead.

He had forgotten one very important fact…

He was a Vipermancer.

An Emperor of Snakes.

They might be a Race that crawled on their bellies, but was he so different?

His wings, too, had been snipped.

And he was on a wrathful path to getting them back.

The bolt crashed into Sylasʼ body and a jolt ran through him.

The pressure from his Fusion with the Basilisk King weakened considerably. At the same time, his base stats doubled, then tripled, then quadrupled.

If the hidden ability of Madness was attacking the mind.

And the hidden ability of Mixed Martial Arts was swallowing the combat styles of others, incorporating them into his own or countering them at their weakness…

Then the hidden ability of Glassvolt was using lightning to supercharge the body.

Speed. Dexterity. Strength. Constitution.

And then came Intelligence.

They all shot through the roof.

Sylasʼ skin became like reflective glass, a storm of silvery-white lightning racing through it like flames scattering across a marbled surface.

In a brief instant of time, Sylasʼ Physical stats and Intelligence crossed 30 000.

[Glassvolt Prism Form].

Semi-Fusion.

CHI.

Sylasʼ golden slit eyes gained an array of pinks, blues, and violets, swirling within the gold as though competing for space and dominance.

Only to be suppressed.

Glass Edge.

BANG!

Sylasʼ arm quickly reformed. First as spindles of bone, and then a wiry mess of nerves, muscles, and sinew wrapped around it tightly as he squeezed his fists.

The skin was the last to reform, just in time for him to cock his arm back once again.

The Glassinox reeled from down below, the power of Sylasʼ earlier strike shaking it internally…

While it was waning, Sylas was only growing stronger.

BANG!

The second sound came like thunder, and all at once, two gauntlets formed over Sylasʼ arms before violently expanding until they were ten times the length of Sylasʼ body.

The heavy weight almost pulled Sylas down from the skies until his vibrant Will wrapped around them. He pulled on the Gluttony Seed for the first time in a long while and his telekinesis skyrocketed in strength.

From over a thousand pounds of heft, the weight of Sylasʼ telekinesis soared, reaching over 2000 in a single bound.

The weight of the enormous gauntlets seemed to vanish as spikes formed at their very edge.

[Glass Edge] rumbled with strength as light bounced off of them, the reflections almost echoing with the sounds of a blade sharpening.

And then Sylas swung down.

BANG!

The body of the Glassinox was smashed into the lake, the waters spilling outward.

BANG!

The second gauntlet collided. The sound of bone snapping and whining beneath the menacing pressure reverberated.

A cavern was opened up in the middle of the lake as the Glassinox was driven to the bottom.

And yet, Sylas still wasnʼt done.

The punches rained down in a barrage, and at some point, Sylas began to roar.

The booming cadence seemed layered with [Arctic Howl Mutant] and yet not at the same time. Fueled with his Will, he bared his heart and soul, giving furious vent to something that he had been burying deep within him for the last day.

Every punch came harder, stronger, faster. He hardly noticed that with every fist, it was like the weight behind his telekinesis increased by a hundred pounds, and then another hundred, and then yet another hundred.

Craters appeared in the depths of the lake one by one, again and again, the body of the Glassinox being beaten and battered with every touch as though a mountain constantly being raised and dropped right onto it.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

Golden waters spilled out, flooding the land around and wrapping around the trunks of trees.

Sylas rose high into the skies all of a sudden, his relentless barrage stopping for just a moment.

He clapped his hands above his head and the clouds above roared in protest, the sound of booming thunderous might echoing out in a freakish hum.

The gauntlets fused into one, lightning sparking and dancing within their glassy depths. And then…

Arcane Storm.

Chi.

The first bolt of lightning almost fell impotently. It was small, a tiny sliver, almost like an imperceptible crack in reality.

But then came the second, and then the third.

The skies rumbled, the clouds gathered, and even as the golden waters began to quickly spill back into the craters Sylas had formed, the gauntlets solidified into a lance of over 20 meters in length.

Runes spontaneously formed one after another, from 10 Foundations to 20, and then from 20 Foundations to 30, and then better yet to 40.

It was only then that Sylasʼ Will choked, his Rune Vitality unable to sustain Arcane Storm any more.

But it was enough.

His hands descended from the skies, pulling the enormous lance down in a mighty tempest as he drilled it downward.

Right through the Glassinoxʼs body.

The Serpentes hoard raised their heads to the skies, their roars layering with Sylasʼ own.
