Chapter 1460  The Day of the Duel

Redfistʼs men had come and given them a location and a time for the battle around evening. The battle was going to take place in Redfistʼs dueling grounds in the west, at noon exactly.

”Iʼm sure you can save a bit throughout the night,” Jasmine said. ”Who else would fight Tiffany then?”

”I donʼt know,” Tim said. ”But if I fight Tiffany, I donʼt know if I will be able to fight Redfist.”

”Grrr!” Jasmine gritted her teeth in annoyance. ”I hate you, you know. We couldʼve just gone and gathered some treasures, and instead, we are here playing games with murderous pirates.”

Ning grinned. ”Arenʼt you glad I brought you here though? Would you have ever seen this side of humans had I not brought you?” he asked.

Jasmine had no retort for that. She simply threw her hands as she gave in.

”Fine,” she said. ”Fine! I will fight Tiffany.”

Ning raised an eyebrow. ”Are you sure?” he asked. ”Yes,” Jasmine said. ”If he canʼt fight her, then only I remain. We have no choice. I will think of something.”

”I can fight Tiffany and give up on Redfist. You donʼt have to fight her. She will easily kill you,” Tim said.

”No, I will fight her. I am making this decision. You prepare for your fight with Redfist,” Jasmine said. ”Besides that, we need to find out where the last treasure is. We have no clue, do we?”

”None,” Tim said. Jasmine sighed. ”Ning, canʼt we just do 9? We already have 7 listed, so that should be enough, shouldnʼt it?” he asked.

”All 10. That was the deal,” Ning said. ”Donʼt worry. Iʼm sure you will find the last one by the time we leave in… a day and a half.”

Jasmine pouted. ”We will probably need more time. Damn it! Where the hell is the last treasure?”

After talking about the treasures and the upcoming battles for a bit longer, everyone went to sleep. Early morning, Jasmine woke up and went to take a bath.

Freshened up, she started exercising, preparing for her fight in an hour.

Ning and Tony had woken up, but Tim had yet to. That was understandable to them all. Jasmine had insisted that he give it his all in the fight against Redfist.

Jasmine spent the next hour fidgeting and going over her plans on how she was going to fight Tiffany. She was extremely nervous, uncertain about her chances at victory. The only thing that kept her from having a panic attack was the fact that Ning was there. With him there, nothing would happen to her. The worst that could happen was that she would lose the match.

Everything else he could fix.

”Miss Jasmine,” Elisa, the young girl, knocked on the door loudly. ”She is here. Tiffany is here.”

Jasmine stood up from the couch. ”Letʼs go!”

”Wait!” Tim shouted from his room, quickly walking out. Jasmine narrowed her eyes in confusion. ”What are you doing? Go back in and continue your preparation,” she shouted. Every second Tim spent storing strength and health in the box was another bit of strength and healing he would receive in the fight.

”In a moment,” Tim said and fished out something from his pocket. A gold coin appeared in his hand and he flipped it in the air.

The gold coin landed on the hard surface, clattered around for a few seconds, and landed on the silhouette of the woman.

Lady luck was on their side it seemed.

Tim blessed Jasmine with the luck. Had it landed on a skull, he wouldʼve had to walk out to the fighting ground to curse Tiffany.

”That should help you a lot,” Tim said. ”Good luck.”

Jasmine got a weird feeling that everything was going to be alright. She smiled back at Tim. ”Thanks!” she said. ”Iʼll bring the knife to be recorded, for sure.”

Tim nodded and went back into his room.

Jasmine walked out the door and down the stairs with the others following behind her. She walked confidently now, her nervousness vanishing out of her.

Whether it was because of the luck she received or whether it was just a feeling, she could not understand. All she understood was that she no longer feared what was coming up ahead.

People were already gathered in the crowd, everyone waiting for the fighters to arrive.

Jasmine walked at the front, making her way through the crowd to the open space that had been prepared for their fight. The open space was large enough that people wouldnʼt accidentally be hit by a throwaway knife.

Tiffany was known for not caring who she hit with her knives.

Tiffany wore her flowy jacket that hung stiffly from all the knives that were inside of it. She tapped her leg impatiently and sighed when Jasmine walked into the circle.

”Finally. I have been waiting for so long,” she said.

Jasmine gave a small grin. ”My apologies. It took some time,” she said.

Tiffany looked at her, and saw Ning and the others staying far behind. She got a little curious about what was happening.

”Are you fighting me?” she asked Jasmine.

”Looks like it, doesnʼt it?” Jasmine said. ”Letʼs set up some rules on how the fight is going to go.”

”What rules?” Tiffany asked. ”We fight. And whoever wins, wins.”

”And what counts as winning?” Jasmine asked. ”Whoever kills the other person?” Tiffany asked.

”Hell no!” Jasmine said. ”Iʼm not a crazy bitch to die for this.”

”Weʼll just do it by whoever gives up first,” Tiffany said. ”Itʼs a duel. We are going to have to fight.”

Jasmine sighed. ”Fine, weʼll do it this way. If you can manage to hit me with a single knife, you win. If I manage to hit you a single time, I win.”

Tiffany thought for a bit. ”No,” she said. ”Weʼll do it this way instead. Whoever screams or cries first loses.”

Jasmine gave a curious smile. ”Now, thatʼs not a bad suggestion at all. Letʼs do it that way.”
