Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 41: Berry Knowledge

ʼWow, that honestly feels so much better.ʼ

Ning looked at the bunch of red berries in front of him and cringed as he thought of the possibilities if he had in fact taken it back to the people.

ʼAlright, letʼs stop thinking about that and see what I should do now,ʼ he thought. Now that he was inside a dead rabbit, he would have to do something to get out of here.

ʼWhat should I do? Do I wait for another animal to come by?ʼ he wondered for a few seconds. Then he thought of something.

ʼWait, what am I saying? Idiot, I can just teleport. It doesnʼt even cost that much. Should I carry this rabbitʼs corpse though?ʼ he wondered.

He looked around and saw the bunch of stones near. ʼMaybe traveling in a stone would be more efficient and conserve more energy,ʼ he thought.

ʼHow do I touch it though? Itʼs so far away,ʼ he thought. ʼHey, system. Can I change the range of Body Switch?ʼ he asked.

ʼDamn, why so expensive?ʼ he asked.

But the system did not answer. Ning fell into a dilemma. ʼStatus,ʼ he said.

[Status

Name: Ning Ruogong

Energy:, 45,257,561

Skills: Simultaneous Thinking, Beginnerʼs Map, Intermediate Klavis Language, Candle Fire, Yin to Heat conversion technique, Night Vision I, Interdimensional Storage (Stopped Time; 5 KG), Air Cutter]

ʼHmm… I can afford it, I guess,ʼ he thought. ʼAlright, buy a meter of range.ʼ

ʼAlright, letʼs switch.ʼ He focused on one of the small stones laid around on the ground and felt his entire consciousness flow into it.

ʼTime to teleport around the island,ʼ he thought. He started to choose the small distances and teleport around for now. He would stop once he found an animal close by.

Since he had inhabited something with a small mass and the distance he was going to travel wasnʼt that far away, the teleports ended up costing as low as 10,000 per jump.

After teleporting for a few minutes, he came across another bush with a bunch of berries in it. However, this time the berries looked dark blue, almost black.

ʼAre these poisonous as well? Uh, System. You got any knowledge on berries?ʼ he asked.

ʼHmm… should I get the beginner? But intermediate is at a reasonable price as well. I think I can afford that. Alright, Buy the intermediate one system,ʼ he ordered.

Suddenly, a load of information popped into his head. He looked at the blue-black berries in front of him. ʼOh, so these are edible huh. Looks like they are from a family of blueberries available only on this planet.ʼ

The information he got was quite extensive.

ʼAlright, then. Letʼs gather these.ʼ He once more teleports to be right near the berryʼs bush and started using Air Cutter to cut those stalks.

The blue-black berries were less bunched up than the previous red ones, so he had to use more Air Cutter. After each berry fell to the ground, he started to store then.

Within a few minutes, he got bloated.

ʼUrghh… I only have about 35 million energy now. I used up more than half of what I had gathered back in Hyesiʼs village. What should I do now?ʼ he wondered.

ʼShould I go back and deliver these berries?ʼ he wondered. ʼHyesi should come by every day to check the house, so if I teleport there, he should come to find me. Even if he doesnʼt, I can go teleport and find him.ʼ

ʼUrghh… but then I will have to come back again and that would cost twice the energy. Hmm…ʼ he started thinking of some ideas.

ʼAh. Hey, the system can I teleport these berries without me inhabiting them?ʼ he asked.

ʼAlright then, Remember the house I told you to mark? I need to send all of my berries there. Can you do it?ʼ he asked.

ʼWoah, that is more expensive than I was expecting. Although since they are 5 KGs so I guess that makes sense. But wait, donʼt I have to take them out before you teleport them?ʼ he asked.

ʼOh, thatʼs quite handy. Yes, do it then.ʼ

ʼYes, letʼs go find some more berries.ʼ Ning started teleporting around the forest looking at the different sceneries from time to time. Some places had more dense trees, while, some were just open fields that could be called a meadow, if not for the huge bushes.

There were other fruits and vegetables aside from the berries as well. However, these were clearly fruits so he didnʼt have to worry about checking them.

ʼGod. I wish I could taste mangoes again. I will have to make sure the jungle is secure and get my human body. Although, getting telekinesis first might be the better idea.ʼ

ʼAlso, I will need to get a strong body and cultivate it to make it even stronger. Hehehe, I wonder what those islanders would think if I fly back there.ʼ He started giggling like a child.

He came across a few different animals during his teleportations. Some bears, some wolves, some deer. But none looked like they would be a good choice to jump into right now, so he stuck to teleporting as a stone.

Over the course of the entire day, he ended up gathering over 25 KGs of fruits for the villagers and spent anywhere from 90 thousand to 100 thousand energy to transfer it, depending on the difference in distance to the target.

Finally, when night fell, he felt mentally exhausted by the dayʼs work and decided to fall asleep.

ʼSystem, you know the drill. Wake me up when the energy cap cooldown is over. Okay?ʼ

Slowly, he lost consciousness.
