Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 32: Yin to Heat

Ning woke up from his ʼsleepʼ as the fire around his died down. He looked around and only saw ashes remaining from the leaves that Hyesi had put on him.

ʼDid I reach it?ʼ he wondered. ʼStatusʼ

”YES, I did it,” he shouted out of the stone inside the fire hole. ”Inikaka?,” Hyesi came to his side, with his necklace already in his hand.

”Uhh… I mean, WE did it. Good job Hyesi, Now you will become strong starting today.”

Hyesiʼs eyes turned wide when he heard this. ”You are not lying, are you, Inikaka?” he asked.

”Of course not. Have I ever lied to you? Look at everything I have made you do. Doing up and down, running around, picking up rocks. Hasnʼt that made you strong?” Ning sounded as if Hyesi had just said something very offensive.

”That is true, Inikaka. I feel like I have become much stronger. Yes, I will believe you then.” Hyesi let go of any doubt he had.

”Good,” Ning said with annoyance in his voice as he quickly switched to Hyesiʼs necklace.

On the inside, however, he was feeling different. ʼHoly hell, this kid doubts a lot. System, give me that ability now.ʼ

ʼYes, buy it.ʼ

Ning felt like something was added to his head. ʼStatus,ʼ He opened his status again.

ʼWell, I donʼt have that much energy remaining. I will have to find a way to get stronger faster.ʼ He started thinking of ways to gain energy, besides the obvious ʼburn in the fireʼ method.

ʼOh, thatʼs right. I can increase the cap perhaps? System, tell me, how can I increase the cap of energy I can gain in a day?ʼ

ʼOh, right. You mentioned that. Show me the shop then.ʼ

ʼHuh? Heat energy and Sound energy? Why are the energy type separated, system?ʼ he asked.

ʼOh, and how much of each energy type of energy do I have?ʼ he asked.

ʼHuh? You canʼt tell me? And how much is that gonna cost me?ʼ he asked.

ʼGoddammit system, You suck. Now youʼre going to tell me that I need to buy that before I can increase the energy gain cap, arenʼt you?ʼ he asked.

ʼOh thank god. Alright, now that I have this technique, I should start helping this kid. I wonder if I just have to use it like the Candle Fire. By the way system, are there any limitations to this technique? Actually, how does his skill work?ʼ he asked.

ʼHmm… doesnʼt sound too bad.ʼ He decided to use it immediately. ”Kid, stop there. I will do something to your body that will make you stronger starting tomorrow morning.”

Excitement appeared on Hyesiʼs face. He couldnʼt keep his emotions as he asked, ”Ri- Right now, Inikaka?”

”Yes, sit down and let me start.” Hyesi immediately complied as he sat down on the sand and waited for whatever his god was going to do.

Ning on the other hand imagined himself taking a deep breath and activated the technique.

”Mmm…” Hyesi sounded. He had seemingly felt something moving in his body. Ning couldnʼt see anything, but he could feel a sort of very unnatural coldness on his body. It didnʼt seem like the coldness of a low temperature, but something else entirely.

ʼIs this Yin?ʼ Ning wondered. Suddenly, the coldness started to turn into heat. This was the genuine and natural heat that he was used to. As he kept gathering the Yin, the heat increased as well.

Since the heat was all concentrated on the stone in the necklace he inhabited, Hyesi started to feel the heat too. He started to feel uncomfortable. Even he, who could touch a stone that was burning for hours on end as if it was barely hot, was starting to have problems with the heat.

Then, Ning felt that the energy he was gathering had stopped, so he stopped as well. Suddenly, all the heat energy he had gathered immediately turned back to normal yin again.

Some even traveled back to Hyesi, making him feel uncomfortable. When Ning finally realized what had happened, he started shouting,

ʼStupid!! Stupid!. How could I forget that I was already capped for today? I canʼt absorb any more energy. Ah, god Iʼm so stupid. Sigh, I will have to tell that kid some other lie now.ʼ

”Hyesi, are you alright?” he asked.

”Bright Inikaka… I… You... You finally showed this child of yours your true strength, didnʼt you? That fire burning in my chest just now, that was your true power wasnʼt it?” Hyesi said with the utmost reverence.

Ning was shocked for a while but then realized what had happened when he heard the word ʼfire burning in the chestʼ. ʼ Ah shit, did I hurt the kind?ʼ he thought.

He waited for a moment for Hyesi to finish praising him and then said, ” Yes. That was my power. In fact, that was just a hint at what I could do. ”

”Just wait until tomorrow morning to see my real power. I will show you just how strong you can be with my assistance.”
