Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Building Fuction

Ivy’s excitement was still pulsing in her veins when a sudden question surfaced in her mind.

She lifted her chin and asked the empty air, ”Why isn’t it simple? What do you mean it requires more than just karmic points?”

The temporal storage answered in its calm mechanical tone, though there was a strange intelligence behind its voice this time... almost as if it had slowly been awakening.

[It does not only require karmic balance. It also requires the host to reach the appropriate level. My replies are currently limited by word count. Each time the host upgrades the temporal space, my response capacity increases, and my word limit expands accordingly.]

Ivy narrowed her gaze thoughtfully. The gears inside her mind turned sharply.

’So that’s what it was... I always wondered why sometimes it answered smoothly, and other times it stayed silent. It wasn’t ignoring me. it was restricted.’

A faint sigh escaped her lips. ”I shouldn’t waste questions on trivial things anymore.”

With that understanding, she asked, ”Is there any other function I still haven’t explored yet?”

An exclamation mark blinked in the air.

[Word limit reached.]

Ivy clicked her tongue softly and closed her eyes in resignation.

’Fine... next upgrade then.’

But even without full explanations, the recent upgrade had taught her more than she anticipated.

Her greatest frustration had always been the inability to grow fruits or vegetables inside her space... a limitation that could keep her base dependent and struggling.

But now that she had seen the avalanche of rewards granted by reaching a higher tier of upgrade, she understood something clearly:

’Nothing is impossible. My level was simply too low before.’

Motivation surged inside her. Her fingers tingled with anticipation as she pulled out a handful of zombie crystals.

The cool surfaces pressed against her palm, vibrating faintly with energy. She swallowed slowly.

”Lately... I can feel it. I’m on the verge of a breakthrough.”

’Which power would evolve this time?’ She could only guess.

’It should be my safe zone... It hasn’t been upgraded for so long. If it does now... could I protect one hundred thousand square meters? Or even more?’

The thought alone made her pulse accelerate.

Her gaze drifted to another feature... the building function.

’Maybe I should test it again...’

”I want to build a two-floor building unit,” she commanded.

A question appeared instantly in her mind.

[Would you like to construct a two-story house for 10 KB?]

”Yes.”

Before the word had fully left her lips, a building materialized before her eyes.

A pristine white structure, sharp and clean, standing tall with two floors.

When she stepped inside, the air smelled faintly of fresh plaster and clean wood.

The first floor was empty but spacious, containing two simple rooms.

The stairs creaked softly under her weight as she climbed, revealing two more rooms on the second floor, bright and open.

Ivy exited with a thoughtful expression. ”Add another floor.”

The interface appeared again, but the cost had jumped. Ten karmic blocks. She agreed without hesitation.

A third floor materialized smoothly, almost elegantly. Her fascination grew.

One floor became two, then three, then four.

By the time the fifth floor formed, Ivy stood before a towering building, her building, something she had created with a single thought.

Five floors... just like that. Incredible.

An idea sparked suddenly. ”Is there any elevator space I can add?”

The temporal storage remained silent.

Ivy waited, tapping her fingers lightly.

When nothing changed outside, she walked in to check, and her breath caught.

There was a hollow shaft built directly into the wall, a perfect space for an elevator.

The elevator itself wasn’t there, meaning she would have to install one manually, but the structure was prepared.

Even that small accommodation thrilled her.

’Earth-type users need days to build something like this. But I... I can do it in seconds.’

She explored customization options, adjusting wall colors, doorway designs, and the polish of floors.

The home grew warm and elegant under her modifications. By the time she finished, she was smiling without even realizing it.

’I can replace the old houses... build them properly this time. But... where will the tenants stay while I renovate?’

The most important question was... could she even do it on the existing houses?

She rubbed her temples slowly.

Then a thought flickered.

”Can I build additional floors on existing housing units outside the temporal space?”

Silence.

No response.

Ivy slumped slightly.

’I really wasted the word limit earlier... Next time I’ll be more careful.’

With a determined breath, she decided to experiment.

She left the temporal storage and stood in front of her own housing unit, the simple two-floor structure she had used since the arrival of her family.

Heat radiated from the sun above, the air still thrumming faintly showing no signs of being affected.

Ivy looked at her house.

’Add one floor.’

In the next second, an entire floor materialized seamlessly atop the building.

Her eyebrows shot up. A startled laugh slipped out.

She repeated the thought, and another floor formed. Then another. And another.

By the time she stopped, she was staring at a five-floor building standing proudly where a humble two-story home had once been.

Her heart swelled. She covered her mouth to stifle the instinctive shout bubbling up.

’I did it. I actually did it.’

Then she turned her gaze toward the neighboring houses, spaced a fair distance away.

She paused, inhaled deeply, and imagined adding four to five floors to every one of them.

A prompt appeared.

[Would you like to build additional floors on the existing houses? Cost: 100 KB.]

Without hesitation, Ivy accepted.

Before her eyes, the neighboring houses stretched upward, their silhouettes growing taller as four and sometimes three new floors appeared on each one.

The once modest street transformed into a fully developed residential block.

Excitement raced through her blood.

’Distance doesn’t matter anymore. I can expand everything. I can reshape the entire base.’

But one question remained... were these additional floors fully connected inside?

She pushed open her own doorway and stepped in.

The cool air brushed her face. A faint scent of new paint lingered inside.

Newly formed stairs wound upward, leading directly to the upper floors.

She felt her chest swell with joy... so powerful and sudden she nearly jumped in place.

”This is perfect,” Ivy whispered, her voice shaking with exhilaration. ”Absolutely perfect.”
