Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Temporal Storage’s Truth

Ivy stood before the glowing panel, a faint warmth radiating from its surface, reminding her that this was no ordinary construct.

’I can make my own rules... enforce them... and everything inside the base becomes my domain.’

That realization pulsed through her like a second heartbeat.

The air around her shimmered faintly, as if even the temporal space acknowledged her rising authority.

She drew in a slow breath, trying to steady her racing pulse.

”If I write down a rule... will it really be implemented immediately? How exactly does this power even work?”

For the first time, the temporal storage responded in a way that felt almost alive, no longer like a pre-programmed machine but something capable of understanding.

Its calm, mechanical voice echoed softly.

[Yes. Any rule the host writes will be implemented. The walls surrounding your base are now fully connected to the temporal storage. With the recent upgrade, the range of items and structures under the storage’s control has expanded significantly.]

Ivy blinked, listening intently.

[Previously,] it continued, [only items within a two-meter radius could be controlled. That was why you could decide who stayed inside a temporal house and who could be expelled. The range of control was limited to the structure itself.]

The panel shifted, showing diagrams of earlier constraints compared to the newly expanded ones.

[Now that the range has increased, the temporal storage can extend its influence to neighboring houses and, eventually, the entire constructed base. The protective wall that once covered only two meters around itself now covers the full perimeter you built. All rules you establish will take effect the moment an individual steps inside this domain.]

Another gentle tone followed.

[Host please input the rules.]

Ivy felt a shiver crawl up her spine.

’A power that only I can use... Something that governs the entire base. This feels unreal.’

Her eyes brightened with a spark of determination.

She immediately leaned forward and began typing the first rule.

1. Unnecessary fighting or bullying is forbidden. The moment she pressed confirm, a soft alert blinked red.

[Define bullying.]

Ivy rubbed her forehead and sighed. ”Of course... You’re powerful but still need context.”

But then again, there was a high chance that someone might try to exploit the loopholes if not defined well enough.

She typed patiently, detailing harassment, intimidation, physical or emotional harm, coercion, exploitation, and all forms of humiliation.

Only after the definitions were thorough did the alert vanish.

She typed the second rule with steady fingers.

2. Crimes such as stealing, molesting, intentional harm, assault, or any act causing deliberate injury will be punished.

When the command was registered, Ivy let out a long exhale.

She quickly typed out a few more commands and rules. After reading it twice and making changes multiple times, Ivy was satisfied.

The tension in her shoulders eased slightly.

”Is there a way I can see when new features will unlock?” she asked.

This was something that she never had the chance to see. This time she was only pushing her luck because she kept on feeling that the update this time was significant, as if she had unlocked a large level.

A new panel appeared before her eyes, larger, brighter, and far more overwhelming.

A detailed list unfolded, each line shimmering faintly like a reward waiting to be seized.

As she read through the functions, her brows slowly rose.

One of the features was surveillance, a complete 360-degree monitoring system that would let her observe every corner of her base from wherever she stood. It was as if the temporal storage had become her eyes.

She scrolled further.

Her lips parted in quiet disbelief as she saw five additional special features:

Resources flow control:

She could monitor every resource entering or leaving the base, food, water, crystals, and materials, and could temporarily freeze or redirect them if suspicious activity occurred. It was essentially an internal economic management system.

Energy shield generator:

A function that could activate a dome-like protective barrier around the base for a limited duration. It could defend against natural disasters, extreme heat waves, storms, or even large-scale zombie attacks. The duration depended on her karmic energy consumption.

However, for Ivy, it wasn’t useful at all. Her safe zone superpower might even overpower this feature someday.

Autonomous repair system:

Any damage to structures created using temporal materials, walls, houses, or supply stations could repair itself automatically over time. Ivy could speed up repairs by spending karmic points.

Ivy’s eyes brightened. This was a feature she would love to unlock.

Citizen identification screen.

Upon activation, every person entering the base would be automatically scanned. Their energy levels, power fluctuations, mutation signs, and even concealed hostility would be detected. The system could flag dangerous individuals instantly.

Ivy couldn’t believe her eyes for a moment.

If before she thought that temporal storage was a golden finger, then this feature makes the temporal storage invincible!

Internal teleportation grid:

She could create fixed teleportation points within her base, allowing instant movement between houses, storage areas, or defense towers. It would help her respond within seconds to emergencies, crimes, or power disruptions.

Ivy’s hands itched to unlock all of them. How can the temporal storage have so many good special features?

As she tried to scroll more, she realized that she had reached a dead end.

She couldn’t help but wonder, ”Hm... does the temporal storage have only these 6 special features left to open? Or is it that my level is too low, and I can’t go beyond it?”

[Your level is low.]

The temporal storage’s voice echoed in Ivy’s ears, making Ivy raise an eyebrow.

”Eh? Temporal storage: Are you now responding to me? Not going to pretend to be a preprogrammed machine?”

There was silence for a while before Ivy received a response that stunned her to the core.

[Reply consumes energy.]

”Wait... so you mean to say that all along you refused to reply because of energy consumption? You know, you can take my KB’s and reply to me; I won’t blame you.” Ivy said in an exasperated voice.

[Not that simple...]
