The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2121: Improved affinity to The Flow

It did not take long before every single soldier within the stronghold lowered their weapons.

One by one, the scarlet tide of Resonance washed over them, dissolving hesitation and fear. Their armor shifted hue, taking on the radiant scarlet of the King who now commanded their hearts.

The enemy commander at the highest spire stared in disbelief. His mind could not grasp what he was witnessing — an entire army, undone not by violence, but by the will of another. His faith, his certainty, shattered. A strangled scream escaped him as his reason collapsed, and he stumbled from the spire.

Cain watched in silence as the man’s body plummeted. The corpse dissolved into fragments of light.

”Even when the truth stands before them,” he murmured, ”some hearts are so bound by their own beliefs that they would rather fall than change.”

That moment of reflection passed swiftly. There were no more enemies to face, no more roads extending forward. And then, as though in response to their silent readiness, the crystalline floor began to tremble.

A vast gate of light and starlit energy rose before them, its surface etched with cosmic patterns that shifted and pulsed like living constellations.

Cain exchanged a glance with Alita and Oni. Both nodded, their faces set in calm anticipation. Stepping forward, Cain reached out and pressed his hand against the surface.

Instantly, the ancient voice — the same one that had guided them through the Rings — echoed.

”Recover the fragments of your soul to open the path to the Fourth of the Nine Rings — The Stellar Crucible.”

A faint frown crossed Cain’s face. His golden eyes flickered toward Alita and Oni. They looked equally perplexed.

The laws of the Third Ring had separated their souls from their physical bodies, trapping their essence beneath the crystalline floor. They could not break through it, could not physically retrieve those fragments. Yet the challenge demanded that they do exactly that.

Cain’s gaze lowered to the mirrored realm below — to the legions of soul-forged soldiers still standing there in silent formation, the living reflections of their essence.

For several long moments, he said nothing. Then, his eyes sharpened with realization.

He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, focusing his consciousness on a single soldier — one reflection of his soul among thousands. He erased all else from his awareness: the fortress, his allies, the world itself. There was only him and that one being.

Alita and Oni exchanged glances but did not interrupt. They could feel the shift in the air, the rising tide of energy as Cain’s aura deepened, transforming from golden light into something finer — purer.

Minutes passed. Then, Cain’s aura burst outward, radiant waves of psychic energy rippling across the realm.

The chosen soldier below shuddered. Its form began to dissolve, turning into a luminous stream of spiritual light. Like a comet, it ascended and plunged into Cain’s body, merging seamlessly with his essence.

Cain opened his eyes. A smile — wide, luminous, and almost childlike — broke across his face.

”The key,” he said softly, ”is to resonate with every fragment of your soul. To reach into their emotions until no barrier remains — to become one heart, one mind. When that bridge is complete, they will return on their own.”

Understanding dawned on Alita and Oni at once.

Without delay, the trio began their work.

They extended their Resonance beyond its limits — not merely sensing emotion, but mirroring it, blending their consciousness with that of their soul-forged counterparts. It was not a matter of domination or control; it was union. They had to make themselves and their fragments indistinguishable — reflections in the same eternal mirror.

One by one, the soldiers below began to dissolve into light. Each stream of radiance ascended through the crystal and vanished into the hearts of their true selves above.

The process was slow and taxing, each reconnection requiring perfect alignment of emotion and will. But they persevered.

Hours passed, then days — time losing all meaning in the endless golden glow.

Finally, every soul-forged soldier was gone. Every fragment had returned.

Not a single piece was lost.

When the last wisp of light vanished into their beings, the three cultivators stood renewed — their souls whole, pure, and complete once more.

But that was not all.

During their long journey, their soul-forged reflections had grown sharper and more disciplined. Every trial, every surge of emotion had honed them. That refinement now echoed back into their true selves. Their souls pulsed with greater clarity, richer harmony, and a deeper, unshakable stability.

Cain could feel it — the steady rhythm of countless hearts beating as one within him.

Yet below, though the soldiers had vanished, there remained the countless mortals and entities he had converted during their march — those who now bore his scarlet hue. He could sense them still, faint threads of connection linking their lives to his will.

He reached for them, but this connection was different. Unlike the soul-forged warriors, he could not summon them. They were not fragments of him but separate lives that now carried echoes of his essence.

Luckily, he did not need to act.

A few moments later, every one of those beings shimmered with golden light. One by one, they dissolved, merging into beams that rose through the crystalline plane and poured into Cain’s form.

The flood of energy surged through him like a celestial river.

It did not birth a new Flow Art, nor did it raise his cultivation realm. Instead, it spread through every cell, every particle of spirit, fusing, refining, perfecting.

Cain’s body began to fade from perception, his physical form dissolving into pure radiance. For an instant, he no longer felt flesh or bone — only vibration, pure frequency resonating with the eternal current that moved through all existence.

In that fleeting moment, he understood: he was not separate from the Flow. He was part of it — a single note in an infinite cosmic song.

The vision passed, but its imprint remained.

The golden energy settled into him fully. Cain’s smile deepened as light flooded his eyes, burning like twin suns. The golden lotus on his forehead blazed with transcendence — all twelve petals now fully unfurled, their glow brighter than ever before.

His mastery over the Flow had advanced exponentially. Every aspect — Synchronization, Divergence, Resonance — had elevated to near-perfection.

He could feel the awe radiating from Alita and Oni without even looking. He no longer needed to focus to perceive emotion — Resonance had become second nature, an ever-present awareness humming within his soul.

Then, with a deep, thunderous sound, the gate before them began to open.

All astonishment vanished, replaced by silent readiness. Together, they turned their gaze forward as the blinding light of the Fourth Ring spilled out before them.
