Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

When the guards on the city walls screamed the arrival of the man they had been waiting for, the entire city seemed to come to a momentary pause.

Then, they burst into loud cheers. A wave of excitement swept through the crowd standing on either side of the Corvet Boulevard. People started to jump in joy and scream at the top of their lungs.

He was here…

The man they were all waiting for. The man who led Ravenfell to victory in the Blackshore Incident.

The Dark King was finally here!

At once, the students of Saratoga, who had taken their positions by the cobbled street near the western gates, started to play flutes and trumpets in an enthusiastic manner.

Meanwhile, the armored Magi of the Black Legion, who stood right at the boundary of the road, began to sing simultaneously.

”From shadow’s edge and crimson field,

”He forged his fate with blade and shield.

”The world once burned, the stars once fled,

”But still he marched, though all thought dead.”

The people gathered by the boulevard and on the balconies were surprised when suddenly the Magi of the Black Legion started to sing.

But hearing their song, the audience couldn’t help but erupt into applause. At once, the clamor died down ever so slightly, allowing the Dark King’s men to sing to their heart’s content.

”He has returned! He has returned!

”The Dark King’s fire forever burns!

”Raise your blades, the hour is near,

”The mighty Dark King is finally here!”

And while the men sang, Adam and the group of Magi trailing behind him drew nearer. Even from a distance, he could hear the loud cheers and applause.

More than that, he could also hear his men sing the new marching song of the Black Legion.

His lips formed a smirk, and he gently patted Valerian’s broad, furry back and whispered, ”Let’s give them a good show, eh, Val?”

Valerian flashed his sharp teeth, his eyes flickering with excitement. ”Of course, brother!”

Back in Ravenfell, the men of the Black Legion continued to sing, eliciting gasps and exclaimations from the tens of thousands of people who had gathered.

”Through storm and stone, he carved the way,

”No light, no guide, just will to say.

”Now hear the drums, now feel the ground,

”King Constantine is empire-bound.”

They thumped their breastplates in a slow and steady rhythm, their gazes never leaving the western gates.

They could see it.

They could see their Lord Commander’s silhouette closing in from a distance.

”He has returned! He has returned!

”The Dark King’s fire forever burns!

”Raise your blades, the hour is near,

”The mighty Dark King is finally here!”

Standing on the third-floor balcony of one of the numerous buildings facing Corvet Boulevard, Anna rested her elbows on the railing and leaned forward, watching the spectacle with a faint smile adorning her lips.

”They sure love him,” said the silver-haired and blue-eyed young woman, Ada Bray, standing beside her.

She turned to look at her childhood friend and pouted. ”You should have taken me with you yesterday to meet your brother.”

Anna smiled. ”You can get to meet him later.”

Suddenly, she thought of something and looked at the silver-haired young woman with slightly narrowed eyes. ”You better not have any plans for him. I’m warning you, Ada.”

”Hmph!” The silver-haired woman scoffed. ”I am into men, not boys.”

Meanwhile, Kaspar York, who was standing beside her, couldn’t help but grumble inwardly, Boy? The Dark King is manlier than any man I’ve ever met… Huh? No, what am I thinking?

”You seem strange,” said Daryl, looking at the old man with suspicious eyes. ”What happened yesterday? You’ve been in a daze ever since you returned.”

”Shut up and focus on the parade!” Kaspar York roared at him.

The auburn-haired man was startled by that strange reaction. In the end, he pursed his lips and silently turned his attention to the street below.

Senile old man, he thought, clicking his tongue in annoyance.

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun!

The guards stationed atop the city wall started playing drums. Along with the sound of horns and trumpets, it created a spectacular vibe that went truly well with the marching song of the Black Legion.

”From shadow’s edge and crimson field,

”He forged his fate with blade and shield.

”The world once burned, the stars once fled,

”But still he marched, though all thought dead.”

”He has returned! He has returned!

”The Dark King’s fire forever burns!

”Raise your blades, the hour is near,

”The mighty Dark King is finally here!”

The atmosphere had reached the zenith. Everyone gathered could feel their hearts beating louder and louder.

They had never witnessed such spectacular fanfare before.

The entirety of Ravenfell had come together to welcome its proud son!

Standing at the top-floor balcony of another building, Edward had a wide grin plastered across his face.

His skin was covered in goosebumps as he saw the crowd down below jump in joy and scream at the top of their lungs.

He saw the students of Saratoga Castle looking towards the western gates with emotional eyes. Some of them had even begun crying tears of joy.

The Magi of the Black Legion sang the marching song with utmost passion while thumping their breastplates.

The citizens of Ravenfell felt their hearts swell with pride and admiration for the one who was about to enter through the towering western gates.

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun!

The sound of drums pierced through the clouds, and the marching song of the brave warriors could be heard across every district in Ravenfell.

Unable to hold it in any longer, Edward threw his head back and laughed out loud.

”Kahahaha! He’s done it! He’s done it! That mad lad!”

Beside him, the students from the Tower were startled by his strange, sudden reaction. Perhaps, only Lisa could truly understand his feelings. After all, she too shared them.

She turned towards the western gates of the city. It had been enveloped in gray fog all of a sudden, hiding the view of the other side.

A brilliant smile bloomed on her face as she clenched her fists in excitement.

I’m so proud of you, Adam!

Meanwhile, the men of the Black Legion continued to sing, their voices growing louder and louder with each passing moment.

”Through storm and stone, he carved the way,

”No light, no guide, just will to say.

”Now hear the drums, now feel the ground,

”King Constantine is empire-bound.”

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun-Dun!

Dun-Dun!

”He has returned! He has returned!

”The Dark King’s fire forever burns!

”Raise your blades, the hour is near,

”The mighty Dark King is finally here!”

Right at that moment, a thunderous voice pierced through the fog surrounding the western gates, echoing through the Corvet Boulevard.

”Ravenfell!!”

It was Raidon’s voice.

He took a deep breath and continued beyond the heavy fog.

”The Dark King has arrived!!!”

And then suddenly…

An enormous figure tore through the gray fog and gracefully landed on the cobblestone boulevard.

He was a majestic creature, his fur as dark as midnight. Powerful muscles rippled beneath his sleek frame, and his topaz eyes gleamed with sharp intelligence. His teeth, like polished blades, came with a promise of swift and silent death.

ROOOAAARRR!!!

Mounted atop the majestic black panther was an armored Magus, clad in obsidian plate. His very presence exuded silent authority.

And his aura… tyrannical!

In his gauntleted hand, he held a long black staff that exuded an aura of overwhelming dominance, its body seemingly absorbing the very light around it.

At both ends of the staff, dark gold caps gleamed with a heavy sheen, as if forged from the molten dusk itself. Coiled around these dark gold ends were serpents of shadows, their forms almost alive.

The young Magus spun the staff in his hand as he scanned the large crowd with his dark eyes that glinted with mischief.

The moment this person made his appearance, everyone in the crowd held their breaths. For most of them, it was the first time they were witnessing his proud and aloof young man.

It was only for a moment, but the entire place had come to a standstill as if time itself had stopped.

And then…

They erupted into loud cheers and applause, screaming at the top of their lungs as they celebrated the return of the greatest prodigy these lands had ever witnessed.

This was the youngest man to become a Mana Vortex Magus!

This was… the Dark King!!
