Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

The light from the setting sun dyed the sky in shades of red and orange.

Twilight descended upon the lands, bringing with it the promise of reunion.

Adam sat at the table in his bedroom, the gentle rays of the setting sun casting a warm glow on his face.

Before him lay the small box with the sigil of Acadia beautifully inscribed on its surface. The raven-haired youth’s eyes flashed with excitement as he opened the box.

The tender hope of riches filled his heart when his gaze landed on a silver ring tucked neatly inside the box.

As I thought, it’s a space-type storage artifact! He thought in a happy mood.

At a simple glance, he could tell from the runes carved on the inner surface of the ring that it was used to store items.

He retrieved it from the box, then closed his eyes and allowed his spiritual energy to envelop the ring.

A few moments later, he opened his eyes again. He now understood the functions of the ring. His knowledge of rune magic was deep enough for him to conclude that quickly.

It was a very rare space-type storage artifact with an inner space of sixty cubic meters. It was a shame that it was smaller than the storage artifact that Adam was currently using—the obsidian hoop earrings—which had an inner space of a hundred cubic meters.

Still, this was a very unique and rare artifact. Space-type storage artifacts were rare, to begin with. Needless to say, they were highly expensive as well.

For the Emperor to gift Adam such an artifact showed just how much he valued him.

But this was only the beginning. It was the contents of the rings that truly surprised the raven-haired youth.

It would appear the Emperor knows quite a bit about me, he mused.

As expected of him, I suppose. The man’s got his eyes and ears everywhere in Acadia. Possibly the whole of Ulier…

It took him a few minutes to accommodate the storage ring using his mana, making it his own. Then, he poured his energy into the ring and conjured several items.

Dozens of leather-bound boxes, big and small, suddenly materialized on the table, neatly arranged in rows.

Adam opened them one after another, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Instantly, the room was filled with the scent of fresh, magical herbs and ingredients.

But what truly surprised him was its quality.

As his eyes darted from one herb to another, he mumbled excitedly, ”Grade 3, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 3…”

The worst quality herbs and ingredients were all Grade 3 in rank! And there were over a hundred of them inside the ring.

Furthermore, there were over a dozen boxes containing Grade 4 magical ingredients.

”Oh, Emperor!” He threw his head back and laughed crazily. ”As expected of you. Hahaha!”

He calmed down after a minute, staring at the storage ring as if it were his long-lost lover.

Meanwhile, Valerian, who was lying down on the bed behind him and munching on beast cores, glanced at his broad back with a suspicious look in his topaz eyes.

Has Brother finally lost it? He thought to himself.

Why is he laughing hysterically while looking at… plants? He has definitely lost it.

Adam went through all the leather-bound boxes one after another, accurately identifying all the herbs and ingredients.

Grade 4 magical herbs were very rare in Tron. In fact, he had only recently come across one thanks to Blackie. But now, the Emperor had gifted him over a dozen!

With so many precious herbs and ingredients at his disposal, he could finally start concocting the mystical potions he knew of.

He had recipes for countless magical potions, thanks to the memories of the great experts from the Greater Universe.

However, due to the lack of high-quality magical ingredients on this planet, his herbalism arts had reached a bottleneck.

But all that changed now!

”Hahaha!” Adam threw his head back again and laughed like a madman. ”Finally… Finally, brewing potions will be fun again!”

Valerian shook his head in disdain.

Imagine getting excited over leaves, he thought.

Hmph! Can’t be me! Brother, you disappoint me…

”Hahaha, I’m going to be even richer!”

Adam’s next words caused Valerian’s vertical pupils to shrink. He immediately got on all fours, his expression turning solemn.

Rich? How? Are we selling those leaves?

His topaz eyes flashed with a crafty glint, and he immediately came to a conclusion.

Those leaves… I must have them!

He put on a fawning expression on his cute, furry face. He was about to call out to Adam when suddenly there was a knock on the door.

”What is it?” Adam asked, not even bothering to turn his head as his eyes were glued to the magical ingredients before him.

”My Lord, Raidon of the Black Legion seeks an audience with you.” Came the voice of the Magus standing outside the door.

Adam arched an eyebrow. ”Raidon? He’s here?”

”Yes, my lord,” said the Magus. ”There are two more people with him.”

”Two more…” Adam frowned slightly.

He expanded his Sphere of Resonance and immediately sensed Raidon standing outside in the courtyard. With him were two people, one elderly and one… familiar.

Adam’s brows creased further.

He recognized this presence.

When he focused the Sphere around this person, his eyes trembled.

And before he knew it, his feet were already moving and he had dashed out of his room.

Anna, along with Kaspar and Raidon, stood at the center of the courtyard, curiously looking around at the sheer number of Magi guarding the premises outside.

These Magi were not for Adam’s safety, of course. They were there to prevent any crazed fanatic from scaling the walls and entering the house.

”People sure love him,” she chuckled in amusement.

Raidon puffed his chest and answered matter-of-factly, ”It’s the Dark King, of course. There hasn’t been a Magus crowned King in centuries. And the Lord Commander is also the youngest person to become a Mana Vortex Magus!”

Listening to the man speak with such emotion, Anna couldn’t help but shake her head, sighing softly.

And his men are the craziest of the bunch, she thought.

Meanwhile, Kaspar cast a dubious gaze at Raidon. ”Thirty-five years of age, eh? I wonder how much truth still lingers in the legends of the Dark King…”

Raidon’s expression gradually darkened. He turned to the old man, wanting to retort. But soon, his expression relaxed. ”Heh, you’ll know when you see him.”

Suddenly, the door to the two-story bungalow slammed open, and a tall figure draped in a simple white tunic and dark pants stepped out.

But something was not right.

His expression was a mixture of hope, joy, and nervousness.

Anna turned around, her gaze finally landing on the figure who had stepped out of the house. She was momentarily startled, unable to believe her eyes.

But soon she was able to clearly see it.

They were the same dark eyes that used to glint with mischief.

She recognized those eyes.

No matter how the years had changed their owner, she would know them anywhere.

Soon, a warm smile blossomed on her lips as she stepped toward the raven-haired youth.

Adam, too, slowly started walking towards her. His breathing had become slightly shaky, and his mind was a mess.

He had not expected this at all!

And it took him by immense surprise, driving him into a state of confusion, not knowing what to do, how to react…

His eyes glistened with emotion, and he couldn’t stop his tears from flowing.

For a moment, it felt as if the surroundings had shifted.

The buildings were replaced by a sea of golden wheat crops.

The raven-haired youth and the crimson-haired young woman once again met under the oak tree.

They were siblings.

Not by blood, but something stronger…

Choice.

Anna smiled fondly, her eyes flashing with utmost warmth and joy. She reached out with her hand and gently wiped his tears away.

Twilight embraced them both, the promise of reunion quietly fulfilled.

Anna’s lips parted, and she spoke softly, her tone tinged with love and affection.

”You’ve grown tall, Adam…”
