Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 1823 Aftermath of the War

The Great World War had finally come to an end.

The Allied Forces stood victorious.

Every enemy Mana Core Magus had either perished on the battlefield or been relentlessly hunted down to the ends of the world. Those who escaped the initial defeat soon discovered there was nowhere left to run. One by one, they were found and killed.

Yet victory had come at a terrible price. The fighting within the Great Labyrinth had been especially bloody and brutal. For the Allied Forces, what began as an army of nearly five hundred thousand soldiers was reduced to less than one hundred thousand survivors.

The corridors of the labyrinth had become rivers of blood. The three hundred thousand devils participating in the battle had been mostly slaughtered. Some escaped. The hundred and fifty thousand cultists who had aided them met a similar fate, many being executed in the aftermath of the war.

Almost nothing remained of the devil and the Cult armies. They had been annihilated. And yet, even that was not the full extent of the tragedy.

While the war raged inland. The merfolk devastated the Empireʼs western seaboard. City after city fell beneath the tides. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives as coastal settlements were razed and consumed by the deep waters.

Entire cities vanished from the map. When the final tally was counted, the dead numbered in the millions.

The casualty count rose even higher in the weeks that followed. And the reason for that was a single decree issued by the Acadian Emperor.

It was merciless. It was ruthless. And it was carried out without hesitation.

Purge everyone remotely connected to the Cult of Bones.

The order sent shockwaves across Europa.

Countless men and women were arrested. Secret hideouts were uncovered. Informants, financiers, sympathizers, and collaborators were dragged from the shadows and brought before the military tribunals. Entire noble houses fell overnight after evidence of their involvement surfaced.

The Emperor showed no distinction between those who actively aided the Cult and those who had merely benefited from its existence. In his eyes, all of them shared responsibility.

Executions became a common sight throughout the continent. The bloodshed that had begun on the battlefield continued long after the war itself had ended. Many protested the severity of the purge. Others welcomed it.

After witnessing the horrors unleashed by the Cult of Bones, countless survivors believed that no punishment could possibly be too harsh.

By the time the campaign finally concluded, the Cult of Bones had been erased from history. Its strongholds were destroyed. Its wealth was confiscated. Its teachings were outlawed. And its members were mercilessly exterminated. Not a single trace of the organization was permitted to remain.

In the years that followed, the political landscape of Tron underwent a dramatic transformation.

With both the Cult and the Haynam Empire erased from history, the Sovereign Union steadily expanded its influence until it encompassed the entirety of Europa.

Publicly, it was hailed as the force that had reunited the war-torn continent and ushered in an era of reconstruction. Behind the scenes, however, the Twilight Brotherhood quietly guided many of its decisions from the shadows.

Meanwhile, the fallen continent of Indus was officially designated as a Forbidden Zone. The war had left the land utterly devastated. Countless undead roamed its lands, transforming entire regions into a land of death.

Expeditions sent into its depths rarely returned, and those that did often brought back tales of horror better left untold. As a result, the borders of Indus were sealed, and the cursed land was abandoned to the dead.

In the mystical lands of Yen-Lu, peace proved more fragile.

The few factions that had participated in the Great World War emerged victorious but severely weakened. Sensing an opportunity, sects and clans that had remained uninvolved throughout the great conflict attempted to seize territory, resources, and influence from their exhausted rivals.

For a brief period, the continent descended into unrest.

Surprisingly, it was the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult that intervened. Rather than exploiting the situation, the Cult openly supported the Baihua Sect, the Tsuitsui Clan, the Qingyun Bang, and the Shadow Sect, helping them stabilize their territories and repel opportunistic aggressors.

The unrest ended just as abruptly as it had begun. A mysterious man appeared from seemingly nowhere. Within a single night, an entire clan was slaughtered. The following day, a major sect was eradicated. No survivors were left behind, and no explanation was given.

It was a clear warning to the factions that hadnʼt participated in the Great World War.

Some claimed the culprit was a hidden expert from the West. Others whispered that he was a vengeful ghost from the war. But the most popular rumor was far more chilling.

They said the man was the Hidden Ruler of Yen-Lu. Whether the rumors were true or not, no one dared test them. And thus, peace returned to the eastern continent.

The sands of time continued to fall, and the world entered an era of prosperity unlike anything recorded in history. Some even claimed that it surpassed the golden age of Feypore at its zenith.

And the most astonishing part was that this prosperous era had only just begun!

The reason was simple, yet utterly unthinkable - the continents of the world had become connected.

The network of portals left behind by the Cult of Bones was repurposed, transforming what had once been instruments of invasion into gateways of unity. Journeys that once required months at sea could now be completed in minutes.

As a result, trade flourished, knowledge spread, and ideas traveled freely across borders. For the first time in history, all the civilizations of the world found themselves interconnected.

Even Yen-Lu, a land famous for its isolationist policies and reluctance to engage with outsiders, opened its borders to the rest of the world.

The old barriers separating nations and peoples slowly began to crumble.

A new age had dawned.

It was an age of exploration. It was an age of cooperation. It was an age of unprecedented growth. And at the center of it all stood a single individual.

The Hero of the Great World War.

The man who defeated the evil leader of the Cult of Bones.

The Dark King.

It was his vision, his efforts, and his influence that transformed the Cultʼs portal network into the foundation of a new world order.

History would remember countless kings, warriors, and heroes who shaped the world.

But few would leave a legacy as profound as Adam Constantine.

After the war, he quietly returned to his homeland of Acadia. There, he settled in a city that bore his name and devoted himself wholeheartedly to a new project.

Several years later, the project was finally completed. It met his exacting standards. More importantly, it was very much to his liking.

”So what should we name it, brother?”

Valerian sat comfortably atop Adamʼs shoulder, gracefully licking his paw. His topaz eyes gleamed with joy and excitement.

Adamʼs lips curled into a smile. His eyes shone like stars as he gazed at the giant gates leading to the sprawling campus before him.

”How about…” His words trailed off.

The name had been decided a long time ago.

A hint of pride flickered in his eyes.

”Constantine Institute of Magic.”
