Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 1551  A Way Back Home

One of the many joys a Magus from a higher world could enjoy in a lower one was Flight.

In a higher world such as Myrrandor, the Flight spell demanded a vastly greater arcane rank. The mana there was denser and less forgiving, resisting manipulation rather than yielding to it.

The worldʼs stronger gravitational field pressed down on all things, while its rigid natural laws left little room for magical shortcuts.

To rise into the air under such conditions required overwhelming control, precision, and power — something only high-ranking Magi could achieve.

By contrast, in a lower world such as Tron in the Outer Universe, a Magus could cast the Flight spell with ease, requiring nothing more than reaching Rank 1 - Mana Core Rank.

Aldo Wagner flew steadily through the open sky, heading east. His body was held aloft by mana, moving at a controlled pace rather than speed.

As he passed through the upper air, his hands brushed against the nimbus clouds, cool and damp against his skin. The clouds swirled around him, then closed again as he continued on his course.

The clouds parted, revealing the distant green lands far below. Wagner looked down at the sight, his lips curling into a smile.

”Such a beautiful world.”

He lowered his altitude and slowed his speed, retrieving his journal and a quill from his storage artifact. He then began to write, penning his thoughts as they came — a habit he had formed in his early days as an Apprentice Magus in the Twilight Brotherhood.

Keeping a journal helped steady his mind. It gave shape to scattered thoughts and order to tangled emotions.

For a Magus, whose power was tied closely to will and clarity, the act of writing was more than just reflection. It was discipline.

By setting his thoughts on the page, he anchored himself, preserving both reason and spirit amid the constant pull of the arcane mysteries.

Of course, his journal entries were deeply personal to him. They were not meant for the eyes of others. As such, he wrote them down in his mother tongue.

Wagner couldnʼt help but chuckle, thinking to himself:

Maybe the future members of the Brotherhood will one day stumble upon these strange characters in my journals, convinced they contain profound arcane mysteries.

But in truth, they are nothing more than the ramblings of a man in the midst of a midlife crisis.

Heh, Iʼm sure no one in this world will ever be able to read these journals anyway. But on the off chance they did… well, that would be extremely embarrassing!

Amid his thoughts, the founder of the Tron Chapter of the Twilight Brotherhood continued to fly steadily toward his destination.

Nearly a month later, he had finally arrived.

A giant black schism slowly came into view, as if the continent itself had been cleaved in two. The land dropped into a long, vast valley that stretched beyond sight.

Even the skies above the forbidden zone were dark and gloomy, as though even sunlight did not dare approach. The chasm radiated an aura of dread. It was heavy and unmistakable, making the entire region feel deeply ominous.

Wagner gradually slowed down in his flight, his back drenched in cold sweat.

Just what is this place!

He had heard tales of this forbidden zone, about how people who entered the valley never returned. The land was shrouded in perpetual darkness and constantly radiated an aura of primal dread.

Wagner landed on the ground, over a hundred meters away from the edge of the cliff. He felt goosebumps all over his skin, and his instincts warned him about entering the forbidden zone.

And yet… he couldnʼt help but be intrigued.

A Magus was, by nature, deeply curious. That curiosity was as much a gift as it was a curse. In their pursuit of understanding, they often grew numb to danger, treating risks as inconveniences rather than warnings.

Many willingly placed their lives in peril, driven by the need to unravel the mysteries of all things, even when caution told them to turn back.

Wait a minute…

Wagner couldnʼt help but frown as he took a few more steps forward. His eyes squinted as he studied the air above the ominous valley.

Why does it feel so familiar? He wondered.

It didnʼt take him long to make the connection. And when he did, his eyes widened in surprise.

Itʼs just like the spirit world!

The atmosphere in this forbidden zone is vaguely similar to the spirit world! How can that be possible?!

Aldo Wagner had spent a long time in the spirit world.

Unwillingly, of course.

Back in Myrrandor, he had entered that otherworldly dimension to form a pact with a spirit world creature. But as fate would have it, he was caught in an energy storm — a violent anomaly that twisted space and time in mind-bending ways.

When he finally emerged from the storm, he was no longer in Myrrandor. He was not even anywhere in the Greater Universe. He had been hurled across countless light-years, only to surface in Tron, a planet that lay in the Outer Universe.

Wagner had spent a long time in the spirit world. But at the same time… he had spent a very short time in it. The unnatural laws of the spirit world werenʼt something a mortal from the material world could ever hope to comprehend.

Anyway, because he spent so much time there, he was deeply familiar with the aura that permeated that otherworldly dimension.

The forbidden zone that lay before him also radiated an almost similar vibe.

He found his feet subconsciously moving toward the edge of the cliff. He couldnʼt help but think to himself in sheer excitement:

Could this place be related to the spirit world?

If it really is, then…

Wagner stood at the edge of the cliff and gazed at the stygian depths. There was something unnatural about this steep valley.

Something dark. Something ominous. Something ancient and malevolent.

And yet, if this place truly had ties to the spirit world as Wagner believed, then he might have found a way…

A way back home!
