I AM A MAGE BUT WITH MILF SYSTEM

Chapter 399: Stalemate

Meiʼs qi responded, her energy rising to meet his touch. It was strange, intoxicating—a connection unlike anything she had felt in her cultivation.

Her dantian vibrated, her meridians glowing as their energies began to intertwine, like two rivers merging into a single stream.

Julian carefully leaked only a fraction of his mana, but even that was more than enough to guide her. He watched her closely, noting the flush on her cheeks and the way her lips parted slightly.

”This is the beginning,” Julian murmured. ”Do you feel it?”

Mei nodded, her voice a breathless whisper. ”Yes… I feel it. Itʼs… warm. Alive.”

Julianʼs smile was hidden in the dim light, but his satisfaction was visible.

”Good,” he said. ”This is only the first step. As we progress, our union will deepen—body, mind, and soul. But for tonight, let this be enough.”

He withdrew his hand slowly, and the connection between them faded, leaving Mei with a sense of warmth and longing.

Her eyes fluttered open, meeting his, and for a moment, the world outside her room ceased to exist. Before she knew it, her body moved on its own, her lips meeting Julianʼs in a sudden, fleeting kiss.

Her eyes widened in shock at her own boldness, and before Julian could react, she pulled back.

”Thank you, Brother Monk,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Without another word, she turned and rushed out of the room, disappearing through a side door that led to what seemed like a private bathroom.

Julian stood still, his serene smile lingering as he watched her go. The innocence of the young girl stirred his body, making the familiar heat rise within him.

In cultivator terms, his sword was ready to be unsheathed. But he closed his eyes, exhaling slowly, his hands folding into the familiar monkʼs gesture.

I am a monk, not a sex addict.

He paused, a chuckle escaping his lips as he leaned against the wall of Meiʼs room. And I have to admit, Iʼm enjoying this act of monk more than I thought I would.

Glancing around Meiʼs room, his sharp eyes scanned the shelves and tables for anything that might reveal more about the young disciple.

His gaze fell on something interesting—a worn book tucked among the jade slips, its cover engraved with elegant silver characters: Heavenly Moon Technique.

This seems like a martial technique, he thought, taking the book in his hands with a faint smirk.

He flipped through the pages, absorbing the contents in moments. As he read, he could not help but laugh to himself.

These techniques were nothing more than an improved version of the water mana techniques from the Ares Kingdom.

All they did was add in sophisticated, grandiose names to impress the beginners.

Water Ball was now Lunar Tide Sphere, Water Blade had become Crescent Moon Slash, and a dozen other simple techniques bore similarly grand titles.

Fancy names to make it seem like some important technique, he thought, shaking his head.

His attention then shifted to a small pendant resting beside the book. Its polished surface was etched with a delicate crest, belonging to maybe some family or an organization.

Julianʼs fingers brushed over it, and a faint trace of spiritual energy prickled his skin. Meiʼer family? he thought, his curiosity piqued.

Closing his eyes, he focused, and a new wave of information flooded his mind.

The crest belonged to the Jixuan family, a fairly influential clan located not far from the sectʼs mountain. Known for their wealth and connections to the spiritual herb trade, they were a power in their own right, though not quite on par with the Heavenly Moon Sect.

Julian opened his eyes, a sly smile curving his lips. So, Mei is from the Jixuan family.

As Julian processed the new information, his mind pieced together a richer picture of Meiʼs lineage.

Her mother was widely known as the Seductress. In the past, she was a high-level courtesan, her beauty and charm legendary in the regionʼs pleasure houses.

But her fate had shifted when the young future patriarch of the Jixuan family took a liking to her. Their marriage had elevated her from a mere courtesan to the lady of a powerful martial clan—a leap in status no one in her position would have refused.

Who could deny such an opportunity? Julian thought, his lips curling into a faint smirk.

The Jixuan familyʼs wealth and influence in the spiritual herb trade were formidable, but this information about Meiʼs mother added a new angle.

Mei carried not just ambition but a legacy of allure, a spark of her motherʼs seductive power that Julian could already sense blooming.

As he remained lost, the faint sound of water splashing in the bathroom stopped, replaced by the soft creak of the door opening.

Julianʼs instincts kicked in, and he moved swiftly, gliding back to the bed. He settled into a lotus position, his hands resting on his knees, eyes closed as if engrossed in deep meditation.

Mei stepped into the room, her damp hair clinging to her neck, her cheeks still flushed from the memory of her impulsive kiss. Her eyes fell on Julian, seated in perfect tranquility, and a fresh wave of heat surged through her.

The kiss lingered in her mind. But what was more addictive, more consuming, was the truth behind his words.

Just one night of their cultivation, a mere touching of spirits, and her cultivation had been pushed from the early Core Formation stage to the third stage—a breakthrough that should have taken five years of relentless training.

Her gaze lingered on Julian, his serene face bathed in candlelight, and a dangerous thought took root.

If just training our energy brought this much progress… what if we united our bodies? The idea sent a shiver down her spine.

The sectʼs teachings had always portrayed physical union as a distraction. Yet Julian spoke of it as sacred, a step toward transcendence. Could it be true? Could their bodies, joined in harmony, unlock even greater heights?

”Brother Monk,” she said softly, taking a tentative step closer. ”I… I felt it. The breakthrough. Third stage of core formation, just like that.”

Her eyes gleamed with a hunger that went beyond gratitude. ”How is this possible? Your path… itʼs like nothing the sect has ever taught me.”

Julian opened his eyes slowly. ”Amitabha,” he chanted, his voice a soothing melody as he rose from the bed. ”The path of nature is not bound by the sectʼs limits, Meiʼer. It is the flow of the universe itself, and you have only begun to touch its surface.”

Meiʼs cheeks flushed deeper, her mind racing with the memory of his touch. ”And… the next step?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. ”You said our union could deepen. That our bodies…”

She couldnʼt finish, her courage fading as the weight of her own words pressed against her.

Julianʼs smile was gentle, almost saintly, but his eyes held a glint of amusement, as if he could see every thought swirling in her mind. He reached out, his fingers brushing her cheek, the touch light but electric.

”The union of bodies is the deepest act of natureʼs will,” he murmured, his voice low and magnetic. ”It is not lust, not shame, but a sacred act that binds two souls, amplifying their Qi beyond mortal limits. But it is a step that requires absolute trust, Meiʼer. Are you ready to surrender to the path?”

Meiʼs heart pounded rapidly. The result of her breakthrough was visible, and the thought of more—of standing above her peers, above even the elders—lit a fire in her chest.

”Yes, I am, Brother Monk,” she whispered, her eyes sparkling with raw hunger.

The night passed with Mei wrapped in Julianʼs arms, her soft breaths warm against his chest. Julian, ever the disciplined ”monk,” controlled his hormones with iron will, focusing on making her comfortable rather than giving in to the fire stirring within.

Early morning light filtered through the window, and Mei stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open. She blushed as she realized she had spent the night in his embrace, but there was no time for embarrassment.

”Brother Monk,” she whispered urgently, slipping out of his arms to dress for her sect class. ”Please donʼt leave. Stay for a couple more days—I want to learn more of the path.”

Her voice was earnest, her eyes pleading, and Julianʼs lips curved into a knowing smirk. Exactly what I was hoping for, he thought, nodding with a serene ”Amitabha” that masked his satisfaction.

Mei rushed off and disappeared into the sect, leaving Julian alone in her room. He woke fully in the afternoon, feeling refreshed and energized.

”Yes, that was so good,” he said, stretching his limbs with a satisfied groan.

His gaze drifted downward, where his ”sword” remained stubbornly hard from the nightʼs struggle.

”I need to release this shit,” he muttered, chuckling to himself as he rose from the bed.

Julianʼs original plan had been to leave early that morning, slipping away before the sect could observe him too closely. But the Heavenly Moon Sect had piqued his interest, particularly the sect leader—the woman disguised as a male disciple.

If sheʼs an interesting character, he thought, I might give her a power-up and help the humans take a lead against those other creatures.

The dragons, beasts, and ancient species of Arenvath were formidable, and tipping the balance in favor of humans could help maintain the stalemate.

For now, he would stay, play the monk, and see what the sect had to offer.
