Chapter 40 How Infections Are Handled in Refugee Camps

dong dong dong!dong dong dong!
There was a loud knock on the door.

Joel woke up from the bed.

Twenty years later, Joel’s hair and beard have turned gray.

His face was covered with fine wrinkles, and he was wearing an army green work shirt.

He still wore the broken watch on his left wrist.

”Come here.” Joel rubbed his face and stepped forward to open the door.

A woman with short hair and a high nose, wearing a scarlet sleeveless shirt stood at the door.

Chen Yingying asked: ”Big sister, who are you? Are you familiar with Joel?”

The water friends were very puzzled: ”Who is this woman?”

”Is Joel having an affair with her?”

”Don’t worry, this should start directly from an event and slowly expand the worldview.”

”Fuck, brother in front, you understand it very well.”

…………

The woman glanced at Joel, walked straight into the room, picked up the half-drunk wine bottle on the table and poured herself wine.

”How are you feeling this morning?”

”A drink for you too?”

”No, I won’t drink.” Joel refused.

The woman sat down on the table, took a sip of wine, and said softly, ”I have some news for you, Joel.”

”Where were you this morning, Tess?” Joel interrupted.

Chen Yingying was immediately dissatisfied, ”Why did Joel start flirting with this woman?”

”What does this mean? Don’t tell me what blood is going to start?”

The barrage flew up again: ”Brothers pass it on, sister Chen is going to be bloody”

”Pass it on, Sister Chen wants to drink dog blood.”

”Biography, Chen Xue.”

”pass, blood”

……

”West District, we have a shipment to deliver.” Tess said calmly.

”Us?” Joel was a little annoyed.

”Two of us to deliver? But you ran off alone.”

Tess took a sip of her wine, ”You said you wanted to be alone, did you forget?”

Joel was helpless, ”So your transaction failed, did the customer run away with our goods?”

”Haha” Tess took out a card from her pocket, ”The transaction went well, the ration card is enough for us to live for a few months, calm down.”

Chen Yingying muttered: ”What is a ration card? Why can’t I understand it?”

”I think the ration card should be a kind of card issued by a doomsday spontaneous government organization!”

”The brother in front is right, but what does the ration card mean?”

”Yeah, we all know it’s a kind of card.”

”Fuck, you are all too talented.”

…………

”And what’s with your face?” Joel asked.

”I was attacked by two people on the way back, but I’m pretty good at it, and they didn’t take advantage of it,” Tess said.

”Are those two people following you?”

”It does not matter.”

”unimportant?”

”The important thing is that they were sent by Robert!”

”Is that the Robert we know?”

”Yes, and I know where Robert is hiding, but he won’t be hiding for long.”

”where?”

”An old warehouse in the fifth district.”

”Come on, I’m ready.”

Chen Yingying said: ”Brothers, I have sorted out the general plot.”

”Joel and this woman should be partners. There is no affair.”

Barrage: ”It’s amazing, I understood Sister Chen in an instant after you sorted it out.”

”But what does this have to do with whether you comb or not?”

”Sister Chen’s comprehension has always been good.”

”I gave Sister Chen a score of 96, and I gave 4 points less because I was afraid that she would be proud.”

Chen Yingying said arrogantly: ”What do you know, my Joel must be pure and flawless.”

…………

Tess said as she walked, ”The checkpoint should still be open now.”

”Then we have to hurry up, the curfew is only a few hours away.”

The two went downstairs.

The space between several old red brick buildings forms a street, and the houses on both sides are dilapidated.

Trash cans can be seen everywhere, and pieces of confetti fly in the air from time to time.

A military car roared down the street.

A broadcast suddenly sounded in the sky: ”Attention, citizens must carry ID cards, and all people in the city must abide by the regulations.”

Chen Yingying suddenly said: ”Fuck, brothers, a group of people are queuing up to get things, let me go and see.”

”Sister Chen has an idea, go straight to the queue and get some supplies.”

”Sister Chen, why don’t you go and find someone to follow Tess?”

Chen Yingying didn’t go with Tess directly.

Run over to the long line across the street.

In the crowd, men and women were muttering and discussing something.

”Lately I heard that the ration has been cut in half again.”

”really?”

”Don’t you know? It’s been three weeks in a row!”

”Hey, these guys, I’ll bet the guys in uniform are more than half rationed.”

”Be quiet.”

When some people saw Chen Yingying walking over, they all began to keep silent.

”My family, this NPC’s intelligence AI is a bit high.” After Chen Yingying finished speaking, she wanted to go to the front of the crowd to join in the fun.

As soon as he squeezed in, he was pushed out, and a soldier came over and looked at Chen Yingying with an unkind expression.

”Let’s go, let’s go. I still have something to do...” Chen Yingying hurried to the front to catch up with Tess.

”Hahaha, Sister Chen can’t even be a king in the game.”

”Sister Chen was scared away by the NPC’s look.”

Walking to the corner of the block in front, a few ragged people came out of a building.

Everyone raised their hands above their heads, and after walking out of the building, they all knelt on the ground.

Followed by two men in white hazmat suits, holding a gun in one hand and some kind of instrument in the other.

Chen Yingying hurriedly moved up curiously to take a closer look.

Immediately, it was smashed out by the butt of the gun by the soldiers with guns on the outside.

”Fuck, how dare you hit me?” Chen Yingying was furious.

”Sister Chen, you can keep a low profile.”

”I can’t keep a low profile, why would an NPC dare to be so arrogant.” Chen Yingying was still indignant.

……

The instrument swept over the kneeling people one by one.

”It’s okay, it’s okay.”

The machine turned on a red light as it swiped over a woman.

”This is infected!” Two men in protective suits stepped forward and held the woman down.

”No, no, I’m not infected, something is wrong with your machine!”

”No!” The woman struggled hard on the ground.

A soldier immediately stepped forward and pressed the syringe directly into the woman’s neck.

In an instant, the woman stopped moving.

Seeing this, the last kneeling man got up and ran before it was his turn to check.

Boom!

He was shot and killed by the soldiers behind him.

”This method is too much.” Chen Yingying looked at it with lingering fear.

”Hey, what are you looking at, hurry up and go away, this is not a performance show.”

A soldier looked at Chen Yingying with a gun in his hand.

Chen Yingying was so frightened that she hurried away, muttering in her mouth.

”If I get infected, I think I can still be rescued.”

The bullet screen was helpless: ”Sister Chen, you actually don’t need to be rescued.”

”This method is the most effective in the last days, but it is also the cruelest.”

”The upstairs is purely a Madonna’s heart attack. Shouldn’t we deal with it now and wait for these people to turn into zombies and infect more people?”

”Yes, judging from the current situation, this should be a base established by the remaining humans.”

Chen Yingying followed the footsteps of Tess in front.

One side said: ”Yes, judging from the only information, I think this is a refugee camp.”
