Chapter 92: The Ending Trust: Barbarians from all over the world, dare not underestimate loyalty to the country; chaotic ministers and thieves, dare not spy on artifacts!

During a trip to the township of Gonglie, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, who was born as an aristocrat, saw with his own eyes the barren walls of the common people, the suffering of the people, and the miserable life of those villagers who had made great contributions.

It is precisely because of this that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty suddenly woke up.

As Lin Feng said.

When Wei Qing was dying, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had spoken to Wei Qing.

I know the suffering of the people.

However, until now.

The old Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty really realized that after years of conquests and decades of poor soldiers, Dou Wu.

How miserable is the life of the people.

In front of the monument of merit.

These disabled veterans who couldn’t eat enough to eat, called for the battle feebly, and all the remorse and self-blame came to the heart of the old Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

After returning to the palace.

The aged Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty lost all thoughts.

In order to review his own mistakes over the years, he promulgated the famous ”Luntai Guilt Edict”.

”Since I came to the throne, what I have done has been rebellious and has made the world miserable. I cannot regret it.”

”From now on, anyone who harms the people and wastes the world, let it go.”

”Today’s work is to prohibit harshness and violence, stop arbitrariness in taxation, strengthen our own agriculture, repair horses and restore orders to fill in the gaps, there is no shortage of weapons.”

……

Research room.

Lin Feng saw the contents of the Edict of Guilt, and then inadvertently glanced at the young Emperor Wu of Han beside him.

at this time,

Even in the prime of life, the more vigorous Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

Also affected by the scene just now, in the land of meritorious deeds, he looked complicated and remained silent.

in seeing,
When I was old, I actually publicly issued an edict of guilt and announced it to the world.

The more vigorous and proud Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty surprisingly did not refute it, as if he had acquiesced in this matter.

Lin Feng sighed rather sadly.

Even though,

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was indeed suspected of being a poor soldier, Dou Wu, who set off years of wars.

but,

From the perspective of an emperor, from the perspective of Emperor Wu of Han, there is nothing wrong with it.

however,
From this moment on, nothing matters.

Son of Heaven, what do you care most about?
dignity!

This point can be seen from some film and television dramas, such as Journey to the West, where even gods and Buddhas all over the sky have to behave like courtiers when meeting emperors in the world.

Especially, in the hearts of those emperors who were arrogant but did have outstanding achievements.

Even if the whole world is wrong, I must not be wrong!
Qin Shihuang, so it is.

The same is true for Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

however,
Now, nothing matters.

When an emperor who has made great achievements for thousands of years is willing to bow his head and admit his mistakes to the whole world and the whole dynasty.

His pattern has already been sublimated.

After this.

The old Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty never launched an army to crusade again, and granted the title of Prime Minister Tian Qianqiu as the Marquis of the Rich People, implying the meaning of making the country rich and the people strong.

After arranging political affairs.

The aged Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty also began to think about his own funeral.

Since the death of Prince Liu Zheng, the position of the crown prince has been undecided.

Seeing Liu Fuling who was still young, the old Emperor Wu of the Han gradually made up his mind.

He had someone hang a painting in Mrs. Gou Yi’s bedroom.

He also specially asked Ma Qian from Taishi Company to explain it to him.

”Isn’t this...isn’t this the Duke of Zhou Fu Cheng Wang Tu?” Sima Qian was shocked when he saw the painting on the wall.

this time period.

His Taishi Gongshu has come to an end.

as a historian.

Sima Qian naturally knew the meaning behind Zhou Gongfu becoming Wang Tu this time.

Obviously,

Your Majesty wants to make the young Liu Fuling the heir apparent!
at the same time.

The other ministers also saw the mystery of this picture of Zhou Gongfu becoming king.

In an instant.

Many ministers congratulated Mrs. Gouyi together.

”Where does the joy come from?” Mrs. Gou Yi asked puzzled.

”Your Majesty asked someone to specially hang this painting here, and ordered the minister to wait to see it...”

”Is he intending to choose a prince?”

Sima Qian’s tone was teasing. Although he had made up his mind, he didn’t finish his sentence.

ever since.

He was outspoken and pleaded for Li Ling, but after being sentenced to palace punishment.

Sima Qian put all his thoughts into the creation of ”Tai Shi Gong Shu”, and he was very cautious in his words and deeds in the court.

And this time.

Mrs. Gou Yi was overjoyed when she heard this.

After so many years of intrigue, he competed with Wei Zifu for favor, colluded with Su Wenjiangchong and others to destroy the Wei clan, and forced the prince Liu Shi to death.

And today.

Finally got his wish!
”Your father, you are going to choose a prince!”

Mrs. Gouyi kissed the young Liu Fuling hard on the face.

However, the young Liu Fuling still had an immature and ignorant look on his face.

seem,

At this age, he still doesn’t know how important the crown prince is.

……

Sima Qian returned to Weiyang Palace to report on his duties after telling the story of Duke Zhou Fu becoming king.

”I asked you to tell history, did you tell it?”

The aged Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sat on the throne.

Since returning from the hometown of meritorious deeds, the old Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty has aged even more.

His face was weather-beaten.

But there was still an emperor’s air in his eyes, looking down at Sima Qian who was kneeling on the ground.

”Your Majesty, I only know that this painting is about the story of Zhou Gongfu becoming king.”

”However, I don’t know who is Duke Zhou and who is King Cheng.”

Sima Qian replied ambiguously.

Even though he knew everything in his heart, but at this time in front of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, he still chose to be confused.

however,
How could Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty not know the thoughts in Sima Qian’s heart?

only,
He didn’t break it.

”Then leave it in suspense.”

”In the future, the world will always know.”

The old voice of Emperor Wu of Han sounded.

After a moment.

Emperor Wu of Han changed the subject.

”Have you ever finished writing ”Tai Shi Gong Shu?”

As an emperor, besides the throne, the most important thing is reputation.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty can sin against himself.

But absolutely not allowed, others to judge him.

really,

Hear this.

Sima Qian suddenly became excited: ”The book has been finished... I also want to find a chance for His Majesty to read it.”

”I can’t wait any longer, so I’ll send someone to pick it up with you.”

”I heard that in this book of yours, the affairs of this dynasty are written directly...”

said here.

The corner of Emperor Wu of Han’s mouth showed a teasing smile, ”If, in a fit of anger, I ordered it to be burned, what would you do?”

When Sima Qian heard Liu Che’s question, his heart trembled.

This book is the hard work of two generations of him and his father Sima Tan.

Once, Sima Qian said.

Therefore, there is no misfortune out of desire for profit, no sorrow out of sorrow, no ugliness in deeds before humiliation, and nothing in criticism greater than imperial punishment.

After being sentenced to the palace sentence, Sima Qian had already lost the motivation to live.

If it weren’t for the reason, Shiji would not be complete.

He might have lost all hope and ended his remaining life long ago.

And now.

If the Taishi Gongshu was really burned by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

Then Sima Qian would have no reason to live.

however,
Just when Sima Qian was terrified.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty stood up slowly.

The dim candlelight reflected on his face, making the eyes of Emperor Wu of Han look old and deep.

”My life’s work...”

While speaking, Emperor Wu of the Han came to Sima Qian’s side, patted him on the shoulder, and said in an old and heavy voice, ”Everyone has things that he would rather give up his life than give up.”

”What I desire all my life is to make the country strong and the nation rejuvenated. It is precisely because of this that I have launched an army to attack and fight year after year.”

”However, it makes people’s lives miserable.”

”I, I regret it.”

”Can the people of the world and future generations forgive me?”

”Can you... understand me?”

The voice of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty had long since lost the aggressiveness it once had. Facing Sima Qian at this moment, his tone seemed to soften.

In the softness, with endless loneliness.

When Sima Qian heard the words, he opened his mouth to speak but stopped.

However, at the end of the sentence, he was swallowed back abruptly, and made a courtier’s salute to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

Seeing this scene, the old Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty shook his head slightly, slowly raised his hand, and pointed at Sima Qian lightly.

”Since what happened to Li Ling, you have become more and more careful with your words.”

”If Li Ling can come back today, I... can forgive him.”

Sima Qian seemed a little unbelievable when he heard the words.

However, he still didn’t say anything after all.

……

Some time passed.

Palace Hall.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, whose deadline was approaching, invited his confidant ministers to entrust his funeral affairs.

Since the death of the prince Liu Zheng, the position of the prince and crown prince has not been determined.

The aged Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty already felt that his time was approaching and his time was running out.

Take advantage of the present, still awake.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty recruited Huo Guang, the great general of Sima, Jin Ridun, the chariot general, Shangguan Jie, the left general, and Sang Hongyang, the imperial historian.

There is also Tian Qianqiu, the prime minister who once risked his death for the prince and was promoted by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.

Five people are all ministers of Tuogu.

”Before I passed away, I entrusted the great Han Jiangshan and the young Fuling to Qing and others.”

”Qing and others, as my trustees, must be cautious and conscientious. It is not the Han Dynasty that cut off the status of the country.”

”The great general Huo Guang, the chief minister, is the head of the assistant government.”

”Great Sima, from now on, I entrust Fu Ling and the affairs behind him to you...”

Subsequently.

As the deadline was approaching, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered Huo Guang to hug the young Liu Fuling, and ordered other ministers to bow down and bow.

The four Tuogu ministers hurriedly followed suit.

at this time,

As the deadline approached, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, when his voice was weak, his pupils became increasingly cloudy, and he couldn’t even open his eyelids.

but,

When he saw the five ministers submitting the orders of Tuo Gu, he was still very pleased.

In the relief, there is also a strong sense of self-blame.

The reason why I am gratified is that there are successors to the throne of the Han Dynasty. Although the prince is young, he has loyal ministers to assist him.

The self-blame is because, due to his ignorance in his later years, he failed to keep the prince Liu Shi who had been trained for many years, which almost caused the disconnection of the throne and the severance of the country.

As a result... let the young Liu Fuling inherit the throne.

The ceremony of entrusting the orphan is over.

Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty struggled to put on a smile on his old face.

The tone, though weak, was also different from before.

Whether it’s the weak tone or the cloudy eyes, it seems that the hope of the past has been faintly restored.

”You are waiting to assist the young master.”

”We must make the barbarians and Di not underestimate the loyalty of the country.”

”Rebellious ministers and thieves dare not spy on the divine weapon.”

When the five Tuogu ministers heard the words, their eyes were filled with tears.

”His Majesty……”

”His Majesty……”

The five Tuogu ministers wanted to say something, but when they saw Emperor Wu of Han’s weakness, they felt like a stick in their throats.

at this time.

research room,

”Lin Feng.”

The voice of the young Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty suddenly came.

He hasn’t spoken for a long time, and has been watching the retrospective screen.

At this moment, there was a sudden sound, which immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

It’s just different from before.

The former Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, who was in his prime, felt quite guilty because of Lin Feng’s weakness.

but now,

After watching the backtracking screen, the young Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty seemed to have a subtle change in his state of mind, and his voice was no longer as domineering as before.

Even the gaze became softer.

Hearing this, Lin Feng turned to face Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, waiting for the next sentence.

The young Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty first glanced at Lin Feng, and then swept over the historians behind Lin Feng.

”Wait, are you all descendants of big men after more than 2000 years?”

Lin Feng nodded slightly, and everyone else also nodded slightly.

The young Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty saw this scene and asked.

”Since that’s the case, you must have known about the funeral.”

”I would like to know, how will the future generations treat Fu Ling with these five ministers of mine who have been in charge of Gu Gu?”

Emperor Wu of the Han asked the crowd. Although it sounded like he was talking to these historians, Emperor Wu of the Han always looked at Lin Feng.

And the other historians didn’t speak, but all looked at Lin Feng.

Hearing this, Lin Feng pondered for a while.

He naturally knew that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty asked the meaning behind this sentence.

although,

When he was in power, the five Tuogu ministers were all conscientious and loyal, which is remarkable.

but,

It is hard not to guarantee that, like Li Si Zhao Gao and others in the pre-Qin period, after the death of Qin Shihuang, he forged the emperor’s decree and falsified the court guidelines.

”Appointing Great Sima General Huo Guang as the head of the auxiliary government is one of the most correct things His Majesty did in his later years.”

”If you only start from the point of view of the emperor and general, this matter is even more correct than His Majesty issuing the ”Luntai Edict” to wake himself up.”

Having said that, Lin Feng paused for a moment, then opened his mouth to answer Emperor Wu of Han’s question.

”Great Sima General Huo Guang has assisted four emperors in his life.”

”Your Majesty is the first, followed by Liu Fuling, Emperor Zhao of the Han Dynasty, Liu He, Emperor Xuan of the Han Dynasty, and Liu Bingji, Emperor Xuan of the Han Dynasty.”

”Among them, after Han Zhaodi Liu Fuling took office, he performed benevolent government like the prince, cultivated with the people and raised interest rates, and the social economy was restored.”

”Although Liu He, the deposed emperor of the Han Dynasty, was deposed by Huo Guang, the reason was also because the deposed emperor of the Han Dynasty was debauched and corrupted the court. Huo Guang did this precisely because he remembered His Majesty’s end-of-life entrustment.”

”Emperor Liu Xuan of the Han Dynasty has been ill. With the assistance of Huo Guang, he governed the country diligently and thriftly, with clear politics, and became the master of ZTE in the Han Dynasty.”

”It can even be said that during the period of the great Han Dynasty in the later generations, the era of Zhaoxuan Zhongxing, the national power even surpassed the period under the rule of His Majesty, Huo Guang, the great general of Sima, contributed a lot!”

”It’s really done, the barbarians from all over the world dare not underestimate the loyalty of the country; the rebellious officials and thieves dare not spy on the divine weapon!”
