Ring, ring, ring…

Just as Lin Yi was complaining about how these patients’ families didn’t know how to properly show gratitude, Liang Ruoxu called.

“Is the child called Liu Zihao undergoing surgery tomorrow?”

“Yes, why?”

“I remember you saying that after this surgery, you’ll have to resign.”

!!
“Why? Are you going to throw me a farewell party? There’s no need to be extravagant. A swimsuit party will do.”

“You’re too much.” Liang Ruoxu said.

“I need to talk to you about something. Shall we have dinner tonight?”

“Are you buying?”

“Is that an important question? Can’t you even afford a meal?”

“I’ve just blown 90 billion, I’m already very poor.” Lin Yi said.

“But if you’re willing, you can come to my pool for barbecue or hotpot. I can still treat you to this kind of meal.”

“Don’t think about it for the time being,” Liang Ruoxu said. “I recently discovered a new Huaiyang restaurant, so I’ll bring you to try it. It’s no fun eating alone anyway.”

“Alright, I have another surgery later. Let’s call each other tonight.”

“It’s settled.”

The surgery in the afternoon went smoothly, but Lin Yi was in no hurry to leave.

After returning to the department, he checked the surgery plan with Li Chuhan and Zheng Binjiang. After confirming that everything was fine, he drove to meet up with Liang Ruoxu.

The Huaiyang restaurant that Liang Ruoxu chose was very exquisite.

Although it was not a three-star Michelin restaurant, judging from the decorations outside, it was obvious that it was not a cheap place.

As usual, Liang Ruoxu booked a private room to avoid being disturbed.

“You always get such private places. It always makes me misunderstand what you’re going to do with me here.”

“I’m just afraid that if others see this, rumors will spread. I don’t have as many bad intentions as you.”

“Look at what you’re saying. Can’t an official find a boyfriend?”

“That’s just it. This is a very sensitive matter. Even if you’re fine, the other party will make groundless accusations and create trouble for you. Even if you prove your innocence afterward, it will leave a bad impression on the higher-ups. You’ll be helpless.”

With that, Liang Ruoxu took out fifty thousand yuan from her bag.

“Since the surgery is tomorrow, take this money for the child called Liu Zihao.”

“For him?” Lin Yi was surprised.

He thought that Liang Ruoxu had nothing better to do today, so she had invited him out for dinner. He did not expect her to have something else in mind.

“Is this your money?”

“Some of it is mine,” Liang Ruoxu said.

“In our office, there’s an older sister who sweeps the floor. Her child also has congenital heart disease. Coincidentally, she also received social assistance at that time, so the child had a chance to undergo surgery. When she heard about this, she came to me and said that she wanted to donate 500 yuan, but she didn’t know how to send it to the family. She wanted me to help. After a while, everyone also donated a little and we finally gathered 50,000 yuan.”

50,000 yuan was not a lot. With Liang Ruoxu’s ability, she could easily get 500,000 yuan, let alone 50,000 yuan.

However, because of the special nature of her position, if she donated 500,000 yuan in one go, she would pretty much lose her job.

“I’ll deliver it tomorrow.”

Liang Ruoxu nodded. He combed her hair and continued eating.

“How’s the situation on your side? You’ve absorbed more than 90 billion yuan worth of shares. How much do you have left?”

“I have sufficient reserves. I’s enough to deal with Zhao Mo.”

Liang Ruoxu rolled his eyes at Lin Yi, looking a little unhappy.

“You’re still hiding it from me. Although I know Zhao Mo, I’m not here to gather military intelligence.”

Lin Yi chuckled as he picked up a prawn and brought it to Liang Ruoxu’s mouth.

“Open your mouth.”

“What are you doing?” Liang Ruoxu asked in embarrassment.

“Feeding you? This is one of the necessary professional skills for women. You have to learn it.”

Liang Ruoxu did not quite understand. What did this have to do with a woman’s professional skills?

Wasn’t this what couples should do?

Did he think that she was not cute enough?

Liang Ruoxu didn’t think too much about it and ate the prawn Lin Yi handed over, feeling a little embarrassed.

“I still have more than 30 billion yuan on hand. Someone else even supported me with about 20 billion yuan, but I don’t really want to use it. In any case, this money should be enough to deal with Zhao Mo.”

“I haven’t been paying much attention to Zhao Mo recently, but I think that both of you must have found others to help you in this battle.” Liang Ruoxu chewed on the prawn that Lin Yi had brought over.

When she spoke, her tone showed that she was still uncertain.

Lin Yi nodded in satisfaction.

“You should have heard of the four young masters of Yanjing, right?” Liang Ruoxu said.

“Among them are Gu Changchuan, Zhao Mo, Sun Ce, and Lu Xuan. They usually fool around together, so they should be the ones helping now.”

“I figured that.”

“Are you going to fight all four of them together?”

“What else? We’re having a good time here.”

“I grew up in the courtyard and know the four of them. You’re the first person I’ve seen who dares to challenge the four young masters of Yanjing alone. Moreover, you’re doing well.” Liang Ruoxu said.

“What?”

“It’s useless to be nervous about such things. It all depends on who has more money. The first to back down will die. This matter is simple, so there’s no need to stress over it.”

“Your mentality is pretty good.”

Liang Ruoxu had chatted with Shen Shuyi a lot about this matter.

She had a comprehensive understanding of this rare short-selling battle.

Just as Lin Yi had said, it was a matter of money- it was useless to worry too much about it.

Liang Ruoxu changed her posture and seemed to be full. She took a sip of the tea in his cup and asked,

“Tomorrow should be your last surgery. What are your plans for the future? Are you going back to work at Lingyun Group?”

“It’s impossible for me to continue working. I’ll never work another day in my life.” Lin Yi said.

“I’ve already thought about it. After I quit this job, I’ll open a shop, raise a dog, and be a simple shop owner. I’ll live a lonely and simple life.”

Liang Ruoxu looked up at Lin Yi. “You’ve been reading too much online novels, haven’t you?”

“You don’t understand me at all. In truth, I’m a very depressed person. Do you understand the loneliness and hesitation in my heart? Do you understand the loneliness I experience in the dead of night?”

“I’m just a normal person. I don’t understand your tricks. I only know that even if you work as a toilet cleaner, there will be many women around you.” Liang Ruoxu said.

“But are you really going to open a shop? What exactly are you going to do there?”

“I’ve long thought about this. I haven’t thought about what to sell. How about underwear? I can give you a few sets for free when the time comes.”

“Alright, 38D. Remember the size,” Liang Ruoxu said. “Black and red are both fine.”

“Then what are you waiting for? I’ll bring you to buy two sets and give them to you in advance.”

“Get lost.” Liang Ruoxu rolled her eyes at Lin Yi.

“I was just joking with you, yet you took it seriously.

“In that case, your 38D joke is too much of an exagerration.”
