After hearing how Tian Yan addressed Lin Yi, Cheng Su was stunned. He was Cheng Shuang’s son and knew Tian Yan’s identity.

Even the senior vice president of Didi had to speak politely to her.

However, this arrogant woman actually called that man Chairman Lin. What was going on?

At the same time, the other executives who walked out also saw Lin Yi.

The tipsy expression on their faces immediately turned respectful. Everyone, including Cheng Shuang, nodded slightly and bowed.

!!
“Chairman Lin.”

This scene surprised Lin Yi.

“Why are you guys here? I was just thinking of going to Didi to check on you guys.”

Among Didi’s executives, Lin Yi only knew Tian Yan and Cheng Shuang. It was quite a coincidence to meet them here.

“I just finished working overtime. Since I have nothing to do, I thought I’d treat everyone to a meal.” Cheng Shuang chuckled.

“Chairman Lin, why didn’t you tell me that you were here? It would have given me a chance to receive you.”

“I still have some other things on hand. I wanted to go over to your place after I was done. I didn’t expect to meet you in advance.”

“Chairman Lin, are there any other projects you want to acquire? Do you need our help?”

“I’m not investing in a project. I want to build a Hope School in Beiqiao Town, so I came to observe the surroundings.” Lin Yi said.

“You guys go about your business. Don’t worry about me. I’m going back after dinner.”

“Alright, alright, Chairman Lin. We’ll send you off.”

“No need, I can walk by myself. You guys focus on your own matters.”

“Then we won’t disturb Chairman Lin anymore.”

Their conversation left Cheng Su and Wen Shu in a daze.

However, through the way his father and the other executives addressed Lin Yi, Cheng Jian realized something.

He knew a little about the company’s acquisition and knew that the mysterious major shareholder’s surname was Lin.

Unless he was totally wrong, this Mr. Lin might be this man in front of him!

“Dad, is he the mysterious shareholder who gained majority ownership in Didi?” Cheng Su asked fearfully.

“That’s right!”

Cheng Shuang’s expression immediately changed. “Did you say something rude to Chairman Lin just now?!”

Wen Shu’s eyes widened and her body trembled uncontrollably.

He never expected Lin Yi to have such an identity!

Now, Didi’s valuation had already reached 30 billion USD. How rich was he to be able to buy out of Didi’s capital?

Compared to Lin Yi, Cheng Su was nothing in front of him.

“Dad, I didn’t do it on purpose.” Cheng Su swallowed nervously. “If I had known that the person in front of me was Chairman Lin, I wouldn’t have dared to say such a thing even if I had a hundred guts.”

“I’ll deal with you when we get home!”

Cheng Shuang snorted and looked at Lin Yi respectfully.

“Chairman Lin, I’ve spoiled him since he was young. I’ll educate him well. I hope you won’t be angry.”

“Do I look like such a petty person?” Lin Yi said, “Don’t take it to heart. Do your job well and try to create more benefits for the company.”

“Yes, yes, yes. We will definitely work hard. Don’t worry, Chairman Lin.”

Seeing Cheng Shuang’s attitude toward Lin Yi, Wen Shu’s heart was pounding.

A big shot like Cheng Shuang was already powerful enough, but in front of Lin Yi, they seemed to be nothing.

Was this the power of capital?

This was the real man who stood at the peak!

“Who is this woman?”

After talking to Lin Yi, Cheng Shuang looked at Wen Shu unhappily.

“Dad, she’s my girlfriend. She’s a reporter from the TV station,” Cheng Shuang said.

“Hello, Uncle.” Wen Shu said, “I didn’t expect to meet you here. I didn’t prepare a welcome gift for you. I hope you don’t mind. I’ll visit you another day.”

“Girlfriend?”

Cheng Shuang said unhappily, “Look at what she’s wearing! There’s no need for you to visit. You’re not suitable for my son. I hope you won’t appear by my son’s side in the future.”

After saying that, Cheng Shuang looked at Cheng Su. “Look at you, then look at Chairman Lin. Both of you are about the same age. Why is the difference between you so big?! Are you blind?! Let me tell you, from today onwards, I’ll cut all your credit cards and force you to change your bad habits!”

“Dad, if you cut my credit cards, how am I going to live?” Cheng Su said.

“In truth, I was not serious about her. I was just playing around. I wanted you to temporarily relax control over me. With my net worth, how could I possibly marry her?”

Wen Shu stood rooted to the ground as if she had been struck by lightning. She could not believe her ears.

“You… you were just playing with me.”

“What else do you think?” Cheng Su said.

“You were just a shield for me. Did you really think I’d marry you? Aren’t you just a small-time reporter?”

“You’ve gone too far!” Wen Shu cried.

She had fantasized about the beautiful scene after marriage. She had never expected these thoughts to be bubbles that would suddenly burst.

“Alright, alright. Don’t argue in public. Go back home.” Lin Yi waved his hand impatiently.

“If there’s a scandal, you’ll be in the headlines tomorrow.”

“Got it, Chairman Lin. We’ll leave now.”

Lin Yi nodded and watched Cheng Shuang and Tian Yan leave.

The reason why he did not leave was because the takeaway was not ready yet.

However, Wen Shu did not leave. She stood at the door and wiped her tears.

“Mr. Lin, I’m heartbroken. Can you talk to me?”

“I don’t think I can since my takeout is almost ready. I have to go.”

A few minutes later, Lin Yi took his takeout and strode out.

Wen Shu tugged at her dress and followed Lin Yi out.

Downstairs, Wen Shu was about to settle the bill. She wanted to leave a good impression on Lin Yi, but she was told that the bill had already been paid.

Hearing this news, she was secretly delighted.

If she really had to pay the bill, her savings would be emptied.

“Mr. Lin, let me send you back,” Wen Shu said from behind.

Because Lin Yi didn’t drive, this was her chance.

“No need. There are so many cars by the roadside. I can just take a taxi.”

Hearing Lin Yi’s tone, Wen Shu could understand.

She had said a lot of rude words, so it was normal for him to be unhappy.

“Mr. Lin, didn’t you just say that you have something important to tell me? Do you think we can continue the interview?” Wen Shu said.

“Hmm, it’s a little inappropriate to do it here. Why don’t we find a place to continue the earlier interview?”

“Huh?”

Wen Shu was overjoyed and pointed to the hotel not far away in embarrassment.

“Let’s go there. It’s quiet. There’ll be no one there. No one will disturb us.”

“Sure, let’s go ahead. It looks pretty good.”

“It’s good that you’re satisfied.”

“Yes, go ahead. I’ll go back and get some sleep. I’ll do the interview with you when I feel better.”
