Global Arrival: Survival on a Desert Island

Chapter 140 Battle against Pirates (5)

Chapter 140 Decisive Battle with Pirates ([-])

Except for the artillery position on the mountain bowl, as long as the artillery facing this side of the battlefield, as long as the angle can be adjusted, all of them will retreat at this moment to reveal the thick and fierce muzzle.

A total of eight cannons have adjusted their directions at this moment, and the first to fire is the one above the mountain bowl.

”boom--”

A single heavy gun with a diameter of more than [-] mm, the sound of firing is not small.

Lin Feng felt that the situation was wrong when the red light flashed on the mountain bowl of the island.

With such a distance, the opponent directly opened fire and could still clearly see the fire, so the caliber of the artillery fire must not be small.

A thought flashed through his mind, and Lin Feng immediately gave the dodge command.

”The whole ship is full to starboard! Dodge the artillery fire! Dodge the artillery fire!”

After the helmsman on the bridge received the order, he subconsciously turned the rudder to avoid incoming attacks.

Less than four or five seconds after the evasion command was issued, a specially-made shell exploded within ten meters of the port side of the Black Coral.

The huge explosion scorched the silver-white iron-plated layer on the left bow.

And the huge water column brought by it was more than ten meters high, and the splashed water fell on the deck.

The sailors in this ambush all received considerable shock losses.

”Fuck, it’s a good thing the steering is fast...”

Lin Feng looked at the exploding water column and cursed secretly, if he hadn’t turned to avoid it just now, the shell probably hit the deck directly.

Judging from the movement in the water, if it was hit, a big hole would be opened on the deck.

At the same time, judging from the movement just now, this shell is probably a combination of iron bullets and gunpowder, a weakened version of the grenade.

The explosion formed by loading gunpowder, plus the impact force, even his upgraded Black Coral would not dare to take a shot.

This should be the defense measure of the archipelago that Luo Kun mentioned earlier.

Looking at the archipelago [-] kilometers away with a little apprehension, sure enough, this pirate’s stronghold is not so easy to chew on.

However, Lin Feng was only afraid of the defensive artillery on the island, and would not give up because of this instead of retreating.

For a gun of this level, coupled with the backward loading technology, it takes a long time to load once it is fired.

And within a certain period of time, the number of attacks cannot exceed a value, otherwise the heat accumulation left after the gunpowder burns cannot be dissipated, causing the bomb to explode.

After the artillery attack on the mountain bowl was completed, Lin Feng immediately arranged for personnel to watch over it.

Calculate the opponent’s next attack time, and notify specialized personnel to avoid shells.

Chasing down the remaining pirate fleet is the real business.

”Adjust the naval guns at the bow and bombard the opponent’s tail. It is best to destroy the rudder so that the opponent cannot turn.”

”Yes!”

Although most of the artillery of the sailing warship is mainly on the side, there are no artillery in the front and rear.

But this is only a general situation. For large ships like battleships, in order to prevent the enemy from attacking from a dead corner, half of them will reserve a small number of prefabricated gun positions.

This part of the prefabricated artillery position is used to temporarily install some artillery to attack the front or rear.

Although the number of artillery pieces is small, they can also cause certain obstacles and damage.

On the prefabricated gun position at the bow, Lin Feng took out three cannons and called nearby gunners to adjust the attack.

With Lin Feng’s adjustment and assistance, the three cannons quickly roared, attacking the pirate ship ahead of him that was fleeing.

Although the number of artillery pieces is small, those who cannot stand up are the ace operators and external observers.

In the first round of attack, all three cannons hit, and one shot hit the opponent’s mast.

However, because the masts of the cruisers were thick and strong, not much different from those of the battleships, they did not cause particularly heavy losses.

The second round of attacks directly emptied the personnel on the aft bridge, causing the upper rudder to be directly blasted away, which forced the pirates to use a spare rudder.

But the attack lasted only two rounds, and all the defensive artillery on the archipelago was lit.

At this moment, the pursuit has reached a distance of less than 800 meters from the islands, and the opponent’s retreating ship has also arrived at a distance of less than 500 meters from the islands.

But seeing the eight bright lights on the island at the same time, Lin Feng fled towards the safe room inside the ship without saying a word.

The helmsman on the ship, who was in charge of the direction, could not dodge the incoming artillery fire at this moment.

Under the cover of firepower, rashly dodging the attack might not be able to fill up all the shells.

The only way now is to pray for two fewer shells.

”Bang—boom—boom—”

A few seconds later, eight anti-ship artillery shells arrived.

Several water jets soaring into the sky were blasted, and the Black Coral was hit three times at the same time.

One hit the port side, one hit the bow deck, and one hit the middeck.

The most serious attack of the three shells was the one that hit the middle deck.

A large hole was opened directly on the deck, exposing the environment inside the cabin.

The shells on the left front and penetrating the deck did not cause much damage to the ship. After all, these two places were specially upgraded and reinforced, but the personnel nearby suffered a devastating blow.

The battleship of more than [-] tons, under such a fierce blow, the whole battleship was constantly swaying in the sea.

The sea wolf on the pirate cruiser looked at the Black Coral that was hit hard behind him, and felt a burst of relief in his heart.

”Good job, inform the second line of defense that the opponent’s ship will open fire with all its strength after reaching a distance of ten sails, don’t save ammunition!”

When the sea wolf built the defense of the archipelago, it didn’t just set up this group of dark forts.

The artillery firing speed of the bunker group is limited, and it does have very strong lethality against large targets.

But in the face of a large number of small boats, it is a bit stretched.

Therefore, there is a second line of artillery defense on the archipelago, which is modified from ordinary artillery.

Under normal circumstances, it will not be rolled out for placement, except in emergencies.

The current situation is already an emergency situation. When going to sea to fight, Sea Wolf has already ordered the subordinates to start deploying the second line of defense.

There are a large number of artillery in this part, but the range and accuracy are limited, which belongs to the suppressing effect of ”many guns and powerful forces”.

Lin Feng, who fled into the safe room, accidentally fell during this attack.

Feeling such a terrifying attack, I was also a little frightened.

The number of protective naval guns on the opponent’s island is a bit... scary.

Quickly return to the deck to check the battle damage and the next countermeasures.

Under such a powerful artillery attack, continuing to attack is not a very good choice.

Need to make some temporary adjustments...
