Chapter 68 The Refuge BaseChapter 68 The Refuge Base
SJ area refuge base.

Looking from above, one can see ten huge hemispherical buildings located in the center of the SJ area, each occupying a very large area, and people are continuously flocking to each hemispherical building from all directions.

Although at first glance there was a huge crowd of people, it was still very orderly on the whole, because there were warriors everywhere maintaining order, and the voices of some warriors could easily drown out the noisy noise in the crowd.

”Let’s go, let’s go, there are wounded here!”

A martial artist came running from a distance carrying a stretcher, pushing aside the chaotic crowd.

Priority is given to the injured, children and pregnant women.

Entering the interior of the hemispherical building, what you can see is a grid-like, separated room like a quarantine area, densely packed like a honeycomb, each room has four beds, and the space is not large But not crowded.

These rooms are not only on the ground, but also go deep into the ground, layer by layer. It is not an exaggeration to say that they can accommodate the entire population of the entire SJ area.

Downstairs are all temporary living areas, and upwards are layers of silver metal, very technological areas. This area supports the shell of the entire hemispherical building, and also involves medical care, monitoring, and general control. , water and electricity, and all other facilities, the people who come in and out of them are basically staff.

monitoring room.

This is the general monitoring room of the SJ Area Refuge Base. The monitoring scope is not limited to the refuge base, but also covers all monitoring equipment in the entire SJ Area. However, there are only a dozen or so monitoring screens scattered throughout the room, and more are nearby. Hundreds of staff members sat in front of workstations, all wearing fluorescent virtual glasses.

Through the glasses, you can vaguely see that there are countless large and small screens covered.

”how is the situation?”

Someone walked in, but it was someone Xu Yang was very familiar with, mentor Wang Chen.

Wang Chen is one of the few mid-career fighters who was not assigned to the front line. He is responsible for the safety of this refuge base.

”Currently the total number of casualties is around 20...”

”The overall situation has been brought under control, but there are still scattered mutant creatures pouring out of the city.”

Someone stated the situation to Wang Chen.

Wang Chen frowned: ”Nearly one-twentieth of the casualties are more serious than I expected.”

The SJ area now has a population of nearly 400 million, and the casualties of 20 are already about one-twentieth. Although the proportion of minor injuries is relatively large, it is still far more than the casualties of some natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

This is just the casualties in one district.

”Most of the population is already within the protection range of the refuge base. The initial round of huge casualties has passed. The next key issue is the clearing of the urban area...”

An adjutant in the monitoring room stood by, his eyes still serious.

The reason why the sect is so scary is because they can directly attract the breath of the abyss as long as they sacrifice, and then undergo mutations and distortions, gaining power far beyond the current one.

The sacrificial process is not complicated, but it requires sacrifices and time. It often takes several days of preparation ceremony to start the sacrifice, and the attracted abyssal breath will cover a certain area until the sacrifice is over.

At present, many abyss believers have looted enough sacrifices and are either hiding or retreating into the sewers. They will come back in a few days and will be stronger and more difficult to deal with next time.

In the past few days, combat is necessary.

Whether it’s rescuing the people who were taken away as sacrifices, or stopping the sacrifices of believers in the sect in advance, it is inevitable.

Wang Chen stared at the largest screen located in the center of the room. On the screen was a map of the SJ area. There were dark red and light red marks on the map, indicating that the fighting in the city had not yet completely ended, and some places were still serious.

It’s just that he can’t go away yet.

The safety of the refuge base is more important. Many people are still outside and have not yet been resettled in the base.

He looked at another screen and clenched his fist slightly. On it was a rough estimate of casualties, including not only civilians, but also casualties of warriors, and even the casualties of Dongdu Wuda students.

Although the warriors are all capable, but because they are fighting on the front line, the casualties are not much better than the civilians, especially the students of Dongdu Wuda, among which the casualties of the 46th class are very serious. After all, they are freshmen and have not experienced real life. For some specific training, he was forced to participate in the battle, which made Wang Chen more and more worried.

But there was nothing he could do.

The Abyss Cult will not stop attacking just because you are weak. If the SJ area lacks these nearly students to fight everywhere, the civilian casualties will be much greater than now. The sacrifice will be completed in a few days, and it will be even worse. and critical.

Warriors have no room to retreat. Protecting civilians is also protecting themselves. Concession will only make the sect stronger and stronger, and eventually it will be completely out of control, and it will no longer be able to fight against it. This is how the small countries outside the Huaxia Alliance fell one after another.

Wang Chen thought of his students.

Xu Yang...

He should be fine.

Wang Chen shook his head slightly. He knew Xu Yang’s strength best. Among the old students of the 45th class, he was not considered weak. He was able to kill religious order believers and third-level mutant creatures one on one. He participated in the 46th class. The action is basically not very dangerous.

Even surrounded by multiple third-order creatures, Xu Yang’s body skills have been well practiced, and he is also capable of retreating. The only one who can threaten Xu Yang is the Bishop of the Abyss who is above those ordinary believers.

However, there are very few bishops in the city.

After all, a large-scale sweep was carried out not long ago, and many priests were swept out and dealt with.

As long as Xu Yang doesn’t take the initiative to fight with the commander, there will basically be no safety problems. Judging from his previous evaluation of Xu Yang, Xu Yang is the type who is very calm in combat and has the ability to judge situations. Will get into danger.

”How long will it take for all staff to be resettled?”

Wang Chen turned his head to look at the monitoring adjutant.

After the civilians outside the refuge base are settled in sevens and eighties, there is no need for so many middle-level occupations to guard in various directions on the refuge base, and people can be allocated to deal with the mess in the city.

”Probably another hour or more.”

The surveillance adjutant replied.

After all, there are too many people in the entire urban area. Even if there are ten refuge bases and all the entrances are fully opened, they can only be resettled slowly, and there is no way to squeeze everyone in at once.

”It’s been a while.”

Wang Chen sighed.

He hoped that the casualties could be controlled as much as possible before that, and he also hoped to see his students return safely. He was also waiting for Xu Yang to excel one day and completely surpass his mentor.
