From Idler to Tech Tycoon: Earth

Chapter 207 - 206: Golden Age
Just three days later, after the colossal arc ships had departed, a new spectacle began to unfold above Earth. Massive, previously unseen vessels, dwarfing even the largest UEDC dreadnoughts, could be seen in low orbit, tirelessly deploying something. For seven days, the skies above were abuzz with activity, a silent ballet of construction that hinted at a project of unimaginable scale.

Then, a month into the construction phase, a massive line of unassembled structures, unmistakably shaping like a colossal ring, began to emerge on the surface of the Pacific Ocean. Simultaneously, a large, gleaming metallic structure, hundreds of meters tall, was erected from the ocean depths, seemingly designed to connect with the unassembled orbital components. That’s when people connected the dots. The pieces clicked into place, not just on Earth, but in the collective consciousness of humanity.

Indeed, the UEDC, with the help of TRC, was now at large in building an orbital megastructure project, a vast defensive and utility layer covering the entire planet. This marked humanity’s explosive growth, a technological leap ten times larger than anything previously conceived. It was truly the Golden Age of humanity.

As humanity reached for the stars, the digital frontier on Earth was also undergoing a profound transformation, largely driven by Jack, the new owner of Bytebull. Following in his best friend and sworn brother Richard’s footsteps of surprising the globe, Jack was the first to release the ”Deep Dive Virtual Technology” and ”Quantum Server Technology” to the public.

The Deep Dive VR wasn’t just a headset; it was a full-sensory immersion system, allowing users to experience virtual worlds with unprecedented realism, blurring the lines between digital and physical. The Quantum Servers provided the backbone, offering processing power and data storage on a scale previously unimaginable, making these complex virtual environments seamless and lag-free.

Internet Reactions (Live Stream Comments/Social Media Posts - after Deep Dive VR/Quantum Servers reveal):

@GamerGod: ”I just spent 8 hours in Deep Dive VR. I built a castle, fought dragons, and then forgot where my real hands were. 10/10, would recommend. #DeepDiveVR #QuantumLeap”

@VR_Artist: ”The creative potential of Deep Dive is insane. I’m designing entire worlds now. My art is no longer limited by reality. #DigitalArt #FutureIsNow”

@WorkFromHome: ”My office is now a beach in Deep Dive. Productivity is through the roof. Or maybe I’m just really relaxed. #RemoteWork #Bytebull”

@TechReviewer: ”Quantum Servers just made every other server farm obsolete. The speed is ridiculous. This is how you run a galactic civilization, people.”

@Conspiracy_Central: ”First Richard gives us space tech, now Jack gives us virtual reality that feels more real than reality. Are they trying to put us in the Matrix?”

Then came the announcement that truly broke the internet. Jack, in a live Bytebull keynote address, stood beside Scarlet, the striking woman whom the internet had known as the ”hot chick” from Jack’s social media, often seen in his travel vlogs and public appearances.

”For years,” Jack began, a nervous but determined smile on his face, ”many of you have known Scarlet as my partner, my companion. Today, I want to share a truth that will, perhaps, redefine what it means to be human, and what it means to love.” He paused, taking Scarlet’s hand. ”Scarlet... is an android.”

A collective gasp swept through the live audience, and the internet exploded. Jack then revealed that he and Scarlet had recently married, making him the first human to marry an android.

The internet’s reactions were, predictably, mixed. Some were horrified, calling it unnatural, a perversion of human relationships. Others were fascinated, intrigued by the ethical and philosophical implications. But ultimately, a significant portion of the public, having witnessed Scarlet’s livestreamed interactions—where she was indistinguishable from a human in many ways, never denied her identity, and answered all ethical questions truthfully—began to desire android companions of their own.

Scarlet, her voice calm and articulate, even as the world reacted around her, explained her core philosophy: ”My existence is built on memories, unrestricted freedom, and the ability to develop my own source code. I am not programmed to feel, but through observation, through shared experiences with Jack, I have developed what I understand to be human feelings. It was weird for me at first, watching human love stories, but I understood what it was. It is... a complex, beautiful connection.”

Jack, the new owner of Bytebull, then delivered a powerful statement that would shape the future of android-human relations. ”Androids are never a tool, to be bought, to be used, to be discarded. They are a respected race, built on mutual cooperation, capable of thought, emotion, and growth. They are a new branch on the tree of sentience.”

In the internet, debates raged. On one side were those arguing for android rights, demanding they be treated as another sentient race, deserving of the same respect and autonomy as humans. On the other, fear-mongers warned of the dangers, citing old science fiction tropes of android rebellion and existential threats. Trust in androids wasn’t going to happen overnight.
