Stealing Spree

Chapter 2942: What will you do?

”I went home. It seems you’ve fallen back asleep. Good night.”

Half an hour later, Futaba, who seemed to have been jolted awake, picked up her phone at the bedside table and saw that message from her boyfriend. She showed it to me, clearly wanting to hear my thoughts.

”You’ve forgotten about him being there. I guess it’s good that he didn’t try coming up to check on you, right? Otherwise, he might’ve heard something he shouldn’t have.” I said.

I had no idea why his message wasn’t even confrontational. It was as if he decided not to mention the fact that he had already caught us and even watched us for some time before retreating.

Is he going to pretend he didn’t see anything, or is he just too terrified to face the reality of what happened? I wondered as I watched Futaba stare at the screen.

The lack of aggression in his message seemed to show that. I guess he decided to let the night pass, or he didn’t want the confrontation to lead to Futaba breaking up with him; hence, he decided to play a game of ignorance.

He’s willing to become an oblivious cuck just to keep being with her, huh?

”Un. But that’s not really the case, right?” Futaba put down the phone and turned her head to me.

Doubt was clearly visible in her eyes. Having spent quite a few years together, he probably knew how he would act. He wouldn’t just leave like that after coming over in the middle of the night.

In any case, since I already decided to tell her about him anyway, I nodded in response.

”I see...” Futaba muttered, biting her lip as guilt flashed across her beautiful face. She then buried her face in my chest, her voice muffled. ”He must have seen something.”

”He did,” I answered calmly, tracing the line of her shoulder with my hand. ”He might not have seen everything but he knew what transpired here.”

”W-what should I do, Onoda-kun?”

”Let’s see... do you regret doing all this with me?” I asked, my hand moving back to caress her head, stroking her luscious hair.

Futaba didn’t answer immediately. She remained silent for a few seconds, her breathing heavy against my chest. Then, she tightened her hold on me, squeezing my waist with a strength that betrayed her apparent fragility.

”No,” She whispered, her voice gaining a sudden, sharp clarity. ”I don’t regret it. Not a single second of it.”

”Me too.”

”Really? You’re not just comforting me, are you?”

”Of course not. I mean it. Futaba, I could’ve stopped you anytime, yet I didn’t. What does that mean?”

”You succumbed to my temptation.”

Futaba looked up at me, looking a bit playful and apprehensive at the same time. She was probably worried I’d make some excuse and not admit it, or she expected me to answer differently. Either way, she wanted to see through my thoughts.

”This girl... let’s say I really did succumb to it. But aren’t you the same?”

”Y-yes. I can’t... wait for another session.”

”Pfft. I didn’t expect the sensible Futaba to be this much of a pervert.”

”Who are you calling a pervert?! Hmph!”

Futaba pinched my waist in retaliation, though the gesture lacked any real force. Eventually, she softened up as she stared at me again, waiting for me to tell her what to do next.

I cupped her cheek, caressing it gently. ”You know I want to say break up with him right away. But I understand it’s not for me to decide. Nevertheless, I also don’t want you to feel pressured. Tell me your thoughts first.”

”My thoughts...” As she repeated that phrase, Futaba’s eyes turned downcast. She was truly conflicted at the moment.

After all, now that she got enough rest and the desire and pleasure had settled down, her mind became a little bit clearer.

She knew she had betrayed her boyfriend but her affection for him, even if it had been overshadowed by the intensity of our connection, wasn’t something she could erase in a single night. She looked at the ceiling, her expression drifting into a state of deep contemplation.

”Onoda-kun, I think I’m going to be a horrible person. Tomorrow, I’m planning to act normal. To be that good girlfriend to him. If he doesn’t bring up what he’s seen, I’ll also play along with his attempt at ignorance and deceive each other even if guilt starts eating away at me.” Futaba sighed, her voice trembling slightly. ”I’ll wait until he confronts me about this. And when he does... I’ll confess everything. How I found ’someone’ who’s very compatible with my special constitution and how I asked that ’someone’ to help me explore it.”

I couldn’t help but let out a soft, amused huff. She was trying to be honest while using the most roundabout way to describe our affair. She wanted to maintain a facade of dignity even as she admitted she was choosing me. It was a fragile strategy, but for someone like Futaba, it was the only way to transition without a total emotional collapse.

”Are you sure that’s what you want to do?”

”Un... Onoda-kun, I remembered what you said. That if we crossed the line, I’d be yours and yours alone. But...”

Her voice trailed off, showing more conflict on her face.

Before she could open her mouth again, I pressed my thumb to her lips. ”I get it. It’s not easy to let go of years of history for a few hours of pleasure and a spark of chemistry.”

Futaba blinked, her eyes shimmering. She had expected me to be possessive, to demand she end it right now while the heat of our encounter was still fresh in her veins.

But my words had given her a space to breathe. That small act of understanding seemed to do more for her than any physical pleasure could.

She leaned into my touch, rubbing her cheek in my palm.

”If that’s what you planned to do, then I’ll support you. After all, I respect you and your decision. Just remember that you’re mine now.”

”Un. I remember.”

”Really? If I say I’ll be jealous if you hold hands with him even when I’m not looking, what will you feel?”

”I will feel amused?”

”That’s a question mark.”

”Ugh. I mean, I couldn’t help but imagine you huffing in jealousy. This handsome face... that should be amusing.” Futaba also brought her hand to my face, pinching and stretching it out.

”Heh... So you’re intent on making me jealous. Should I show you how possessive I am?”

”Pfft. No need. I already know. Otherwise, you won’t tell me I’m yours. And only yours.” Futaba rolled her eyes before chuckling softly, ”But how will you be jealous if you don’t know it happened?”

Ah. A good question. But it’s not something I won’t be able to answer.

”I probably won’t know but I’m such an overthinker. Ask Akane and Fuyu and they’ll tell you.”

”Pfft... Be serious, Onoda-kun.” She lightly hit my chest before staring straight into my eyes again, ”I’ll avoid physical intimacy with him as much as possible.”

”Alright. I guess that’s fair. I can’t be hypocritical, saying one thing about respecting your decision and then getting angry when it’s a situation that’s out of your control.”

”Un. Now that’s the considerate Onoda-kun that Akane and Fuyu kept on praising.”

”Considerate, huh? How am I considerate when I basically plucked you away from your boyfriend?”

I didn’t just pluck her away, I also plowed into her until she came undone and forgot how to breathe.

Anyway, I know I’m like a bundle of contradictions in this situation. And at the same time, like Futaba said, I’m trying my best to be considerate of her own situation. Since what had transpired was the result of our mutual desire, it was only fair that she should be the one to resolve her previous relationship in her own way and at her own pace.

I couldn’t dictate what she should do about it. I could only tell her what I think and support her. Of course, once everything was settled, I’d still claim her from him regardless of his reluctance or intent to keep being oblivious.

My possessiveness won’t allow me to share her with him, even if what they will have is just pretending that everything is still fine.

Well, nothing is certain yet. It still depends on how that guy will act tomorrow. If he confronts her... then I’m certain Futaba will break up with him right then. She knows there’s no going back for her. As for affection? I’ll naturally give her plenty.

”I mean, you’re such a considerate bastard, Onoda-kun.” Futaba giggled before once again snuggling deeper into my embrace.

”You don’t have to use that adjective. I’m just a bastard.” I chuckled as I captured her lips again. ”Well then, let’s set everything aside for now. I should help clean you up.”

”Eh? But I... I have taken a bath already.”

”That was before all this. Look at you. If you didn’t fall asleep, I would have brought you to the bath already.”

Futaba’s face turned crimson, and then she finally turned her attention to her current state. Naked and sticky, she looked like a doll that had been played with far too roughly.

Likewise, I wasn’t faring any better. Even with the cool air of her room, the heated passion we had earlier got us both sweaty. And while she was asleep, the warmth of our bodies had created a sticky mess on the sheets.
