Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

141: Chapter 141 West African Epidemic Outbreak, Celestial Planet RetrogradeThe relief work for the Disaster Area earthquake has fully transitioned into post-disaster reconstruction.

After events like earthquake assistance, praise from official media, the reversal of rumors, and strict punishment by the law, the reputation of Tianxing Group within the country has firmly stood at the very top of the industry.

Chen Mo resumed his leisurely life, either traveling everywhere with several women or accompanying Su Yingxue every day.

In the blink of an eye, it was September.

A disaster sweeping across the globe quietly descended.

Early one morning, international news suddenly popped up:

Ebola virus in West Africa, full-scale outbreak!

In the news footage, all of West Africa looked like a living hell.

Streets were empty, hospitals were packed, patients were in agony, the healthcare system had collapsed, and the death toll was rising frantically every day.

Most terrifyingly, the fatality rate of this virus was as high as 90%, with no specific medicine, no vaccine, and it was highly infectious.

The World Health Organization directly issued the highest global health red alert.

As soon as the news reached the country, many people panicked.

”Oh my god! This is too terrifying! It’s even more fierce than SARS back then!”

”A 90% fatality rate? Doesn’t that mean there’s no hope if you catch it?”

”Did you see the news? The United States, the United Kingdom, and France have all started evacuating their citizens! Planes are flying back one after another!”

”I saw it, but poor people aren’t eligible to get on their planes!”

”It’s over, it’s over. Even Europe and the US are running away. What about our country’s medical teams staying in Africa?”

”Our people are still on the front lines. If something happens... I really don’t dare to think about it!”

”The whole world is fleeing; who would still dare to go there!”

The more netizens watched, the more anxious and afraid they became.

Just as everyone was worrying about Dragon Country’s medical teams, the Western media once again revealed its ugliest side.

Led by the BBC and CNN, in conjunction with several international media outlets, they began to blatantly spread rumors and smear Dragon Country.

They edited fake footage, took things out of context, and released one malicious report after another:

”Dragon Country medical personnel secretly evacuated Africa, irresponsible.”

”Dragon Country’s aid is just a show; they run faster than anyone when they encounter danger.”

”Dragon Country abandons its African friends, showing no responsibility as a major power.”

Once these reports came out, domestic netizens were instantly infuriated:

”So shameless! You’re evacuating your own citizens, and you have the nerve to talk about us?”

”Clearly, you were the ones who ran first!”

”Our people are still holding their ground. What right do you have to spread rumors?”

”This is so infuriating! But we don’t have any on-site news right now, so we can’t refute them at all...”

”This is double standards played to the extreme! Running away because they’re afraid of death themselves, yet turning around to smear us!”

”Can the words of CNN and the BBC be trusted? It’s pure nonsense; they just can’t stand to see us doing well!”

”I’m really going to die of anger. Our medical staff are risking their lives to stay, yet they’re being slandered like this!”

”Europe and the US evacuated their citizens faster than rabbits, yet they have the nerve to say we’re irresponsible. Where’s their shame?”

”These foreign media outlets are doing it on purpose; they just want to smear Dragon Country’s international image. How disgusting!”

”The sense of helplessness is overwhelming. We clearly know it’s a rumor, but we have no evidence to strike back. It’s so frustrating!”

”Can someone be sent to Africa to verify this? We absolutely cannot let our country be pelted with such dirty water!”

”A show? If Dragon Country were just putting on a show, would they keep their medical teams in Africa? Don’t be so ridiculous!”

Everyone felt angry, helpless, and stifled.

Magic City, Tianxing Group Headquarters.

Chen Mo sat behind his desk, looking at the news about the Ebola outbreak, the evacuation of European and American citizens, and the Western media smearing Dragon Country.

Then he picked up the phone:

”Li Yue, Zhang Kai, come here for a moment!”

After a while, Li Yue and Zhang Kai knocked and walked in.

Chen Mo showed the news to the two of them.

Standing aside, Li Yue said with a solemn expression:

”President Chen, Ebola is truly too dangerous. It’s a narrow escape from death. Everyone in the world is evacuating now. Whoever goes there is gambling with their life.”

Zhang Kai also said from the side:

”President Chen, we just finished with the Disaster Area earthquake. Our personnel and supplies are still recovering. We really shouldn’t get involved with Africa! It’s too easy to get ourselves burned!”

Chen Mo glanced at them and said:

”I know, but some of our compatriots are still there.”

Li Yue and Zhang Kai were both stunned at the same time.

”Give the orders. First, immediately activate Tianxing Pharmaceuticals and Tianxing Overseas Security, putting them all into the highest level of emergency status.

Second, collect protective suits, masks, disinfectant, fever-reducing medicine, and testing kits overnight. All epidemic prevention materials that can be used should be prioritized for transport to Africa, though we should also prepare more domestically just in case.

Finally, charter a flight directly to the epidemic area in West Africa.

Personnel for this trip will be on a voluntary basis. Register the detailed information of all personnel going. Set up a special fund; if any problems arise, Tianxing Group will cover everything, including their families—Tianxing Group will be responsible for them!”

Chen Mo continued:

”The country’s medical teams are still there.”

”As long as they are there, we cannot withdraw.”

”When others run, we step up.”

”This, is what a Dragon Country enterprise should be.”

”Hmph, as for the personnel from those hostile countries, let them fend for themselves. It’s already polite enough of me not to kick them while they’re down!”

The two looked at each other and swallowed their words of dissuasion.

”Understood, President Chen! we will execute it immediately!”

That afternoon.

A large chartered cargo plane, printed all over with the Tianxing logo, took off from the domestic airport.

The plane was filled with protective suits, masks, medicine, disinfectant, and testing kits.

At the same time, the Tianxing Overseas Security team was fully armed, ready to protect the arriving Tianxing personnel.

On one side, planes from various European and American countries were frantically evacuating and fleeing Africa.

On the other side, the Tianxing chartered flight moved against the tide, heading straight for the epidemic area.

The moment the plane landed at the airport in the West African epidemic area, everyone on the scene was stunned.

Local government officials and members of the Dragon Country medical team gathered around.

Box after box of life-saving supplies were quickly unloaded, transported, and handed over.

The leader of the Dragon Country medical team tightly grasped the hand of the Tianxing person-in-charge, his voice filled with gratitude:

”Thank you so much to the Tianxing family!

What we lack most are supplies; you are saving lives!”

Many local Black residents were moved to tears; some spontaneously brought out pre-prepared signs and held them high.

On the signs, written in crooked Chinese characters, was:

”Dragon Country, thank you!”

This scene was fully captured by the accompanying cameras.
