Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1437: Mission For The Midnight Shadows

Kent didn’t ask for the Midnight Shadows to meet him simply to tell them he is back. He came with a mission in mind, and now that he has their attention, he has decided to reveal the details.

”The reason I asked you here is to tell you all I am back. Yes, I am the Faceless Assassin, or at least I used to be. And yes, I am also Kent Madson—not that anyone will believe you if you tell them. But keep it a secret for your own safety.

I revealed my identity only to help you. One day, when you find yourself in trouble, there is a chance my name will come in handy. I happen to have some powerful friends out there,” he smiled, and so did the Midnight Shadows.

Kent knew that in order to keep his Midnight Shadows safe, he had to make sure he had a handle on everything. If he were to hide who he is from them, they wouldn’t know who to go to if they couldn’t find their way back home.

Normally, they had been doing well while he was away. However, with the mission he had in mind, they would be entering uncharted territory, and with how his fame has spread, there is no doubt his name will carry both good and bad fortune.

He wants to make it a good fortune because once he ascends, the 13 lives he has lived will come into play. He will bring back his 13 legions and ensure that all under his command are protected.

So he wants his name to spread far and wide so that one day, when it is mentioned at the right place and at the right time, they will be helped.

Of course, there is also the issue of his belief that nobody would believe them. After all, he had no reputation as an assassin, so there is just no way anyone would believe them if some were to leak this information to the rest of the universe.

But even if they were to be believed, there is just no way anyone would focus more on that. After all, the Faceless Assassin was known as someone without a face.

If Kent is indeed such a person, then what is the guarantee that he is indeed the Faceless Assassin? What if the Faceless Assassin merely borrowed his face?

There are so many ways he can spin this, and it would make sense. However, after all that is said and done, the question still remains: why did Kent reveal such a big secret to the Midnight Shadows?

”I called you here because an enemy from the past is back, and she aims to take this universe by storm. What I am about to say is hidden knowledge from the Dark Era. In fact, not even the Universe Council knew this important detail.”

Crimson Dagger furrowed his brow, hearing what Kent said. He lived and fought during the Dark Era, so he knew whatever Kent had to say was significant.

”During the Dark Era, when the Night Riders reigned supreme, there lived a race called Dark Creatures or Dark Fiends, depending on how you want to see it.

This race was the natural enemy of this universe, just like how the Void Beasts were enemies during the Primordial Era.

So, like what happens every Era, they breached this universe and attacked, aiming to kill and plunder. However, the brave warriors of this universe, led by the legendary Night Rider Captain Karl Duskbane, led the charge, and for years, a fierce battle raged.

In the end, we won after several great sacrifices.” Kent paused and let the weight of his words settle in the air.

”However, I just found out we fought only half of the battle because back then our main enemy colluded with our own people and found a way to escape death. Now she is back, and she calls herself the Dark Queen.”

”Impossible. The Dark Queen died. I witnessed it myself,” Crimson Dagger said, his expression filled with confusion.

He was a True God then.

Unlike many who went into slumber to pass the Eras, he chose to remain conscious and, for Eras, fought many harrowing battles. This was his way of recruiting more shadows.

The day the Dark Queen died, he was injured and was being escorted away from the battlefield when the veiled lady put her sword through the Dark Queen’s heart.

He saw her die.

”On the contrary, my friend, the Dark Queen died twice. The one you witnessed was her sister, who assumed the role of the Queen of the Dark Creatures. She was killed by the second-in-command of the Night Riders.

However, her second death came at the hand of Karl Duskbane, the Captain of the Night Riders. But even that death was a means to an end.

Recently, my friends encountered a version of her, and she revealed she is back and has started her domination. Somehow, there are traitors in this universe who are aiding her.

So I am here today to remind you all why I formed the Midnight Shadows in the first place.” They all became quiet, including Crimson Dagger.

The reason why he is feared even by Celestials is due to how much battle experience he has under his belt. He is the kind of assassin who has a million and one ways to kill his target.

However, even such a person is now quite simply because something he thought had long been handled is now back, and he just can’t wrap his mind around it.

”I created the Midnight Shadows so we can fight the battles in the shadows, away from the light. The threats that nobody sees coming are ours to handle, ensuring no harm comes to the innocent and defenseless.

So, while it will be dangerous, from today onward, our mission is to hunt down every possible version of the Dark Queen and eliminate her. This also extends to all who are aiding her.

They must all be eradicated silently and in the shadows. I am working on a way to locate her. Once that is done, the Midnight Shadows will start receiving missions at random. But for now, use the shadows, change your faces, and blend into the universe.

Use all you know to locate this dark threat and destroy it.”

Every last Midnight Shadow responded to the mission. They had long ago decided to be part of something big.

Many were on a dark path, but after they were sworn into the ranks of the Midnight Shadows, their lives gained a sense of purpose, and that purpose had now revealed itself to them.

”I know it is a big mission, but I trust my shadows, and I know you will get the job done.”

Crimson Dagger stood up and walked to the front. ”Head back to your various outposts. The mission details will be posted soon. Once received, you must move out. The earlier we get started, the better.”

They nodded, and soon every last one of them, including some of the Immortals, left. The only ones left were Adin, who is the leader of this Midnight Temple.

Black Arrow, Silent Requiem, and Thousand Blade also remained. Aside from them, Kent and Crimson Dagger were also there.

Kent had a mission for Thousand Blade, so he asked him to stay. Since he came with the other two, they decided to wait too.
