Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1154: Becoming a Disciple

The old man and woman entered the immortal cave again, having been summoned.

The last time they saw the sect leader was a year ago, so getting summoned this early was a shock to them.

Mostly, they can go 1,000 years without seeing or hearing from her. However, in just a year, they got to meet her twice, all because of a mortal.

”Sect leader, is everything alright?”

The old man asked.

He and the old woman are the acting sect leader and vice leader while the main sect leader is away. In fact, for much of the sect’s history, many disciples came and went without knowing the true sect leader.

She is walking a path that requires her to cultivate ten emotions simultaneously. That is not something that can be achieved while she is focusing elsewhere. So she is always in seclusion.

”Is today the sect disciple selection trial?” she asked.

The old man and woman nodded. ”Yes, sect leader. We managed to pick 450 potential disciples after our people personally handed the invitations to them after seeing what they can do.”

The old lady took over. ”However, it seems we have another genius among us this time around. A young man climbed the Infinity Stairway in under a month.”

The image of the redhead she saw a few seconds ago came to her mind.

Just now, when Jest coldly spoke to the arrogant bastard who provoked him, the sword realm that the Seraphina lady uses manifested in Jest.

Perhaps he didn’t even notice, but as the owner of this sword realm, she did, and that shocked the hell out of her.

Sword realms are unique. Two people cannot have the same sword realm. This means a person cannot cultivate another person’s sword realm.

So there was just no way Jest could manifest the ’Arrogance Sword Dao Realm.’ But he did, and she saw and sensed it.

There was no mistaking it.

She cultivates the Ten Emotion Sword Dao Realm, so she knows when one part of her sword realm is used by someone else.

”The young man who climbed the Stairway, do you know his background?” the green-haired lady asked.

The old man and woman shook their heads.

”I see. Since he climbed, he has automatically become a disciple. Accept him and offer him the chance to see if he can pass the Sword Bridge.

If he can pass three levels, take him to the Purple garden and let him stay there.”

The old man and woman looked at each other, clearly taken aback by the sect leader’s decision. The Sword Bridge is a heavenly item that every disciple strives to have a chance to use once in their lifetime.

In the sect’s history, only a handful of disciples have used it. In fact, many core disciples never had that chance, and they probably never will.

So, giving a Sword King who has no background, and even a mere outer disciple, a chance to use it is like making him the target of everyone’s attacks.

Everybody will hate him regardless of how talented he is.

Also, the acting sect leader and vice clearly hate the idea of allowing an outer disciple who had no merit to use the sword bridge... something powerhouses send their children to try their lock with.

”But sect leader, isn’t this a little too sudden? We know nothing about this kid, and for some reason, I feel like he has disguised his appearance.

Of course, I am not sure of that, but for someone who can’t even show their real face, giving the sect’s most prized treasure to him is not something many will like.”

”I don’t care how you or anyone feels... Just send the kid to the Sword Bridge... That is an order.”

The old man nodded. ”I am sorry for questioning the leader’s command. I will accept my punishment.”

”Just do as I say and get the kid into the Sword Bridge.” They nodded and left.

The green-haired lady looked at Jest, who was seated and cultivating to recover his energy before the trial began.

Although he may have played tough just now, the truth was that his entire body was aching. Climbing millions of steps within a month is not something a mortal should be able to do. However, Jest did, and now, all he could do was recover.

Thankfully, his recovery was coming along much faster. In no time, he had recovered about 80% of his strength and was slowly moving toward complete recovery.

Meanwhile, murmurs continued to spread among potential disciples.

”That was chilling. Even though he didn’t direct his threat to me, I felt his threat in my gut, and I know for a fact this bastard is cooked.”

”He definitely is cooked. Just look at him, still in shock even after minutes had passed.”

The young man, who had tried to use his status as the heir to an immortal family to disrespect Jest, still looked pale, his expression devoid of life as he stared at Jest in a daze.

He is an heir of a powerful immortal family. He had met many immortals, but none had made him feel fear until Jest came. Now, nobody can tell what is going on in his head.

However, they know one thing: if he gets into the sect, Jest would indeed have a legal reason to kill him, and that is as simple as challenging him to a death match.

He can, of course, decline his challenge, but that will only prolong his eventual death.

”If I were him, I would just leave and not set foot here ever again.”

”That is indeed a sound plan. However, knowing the trouble our families go through and the pain we had to endure just to secure a spot in this trial, I am sure he wouldn’t leave.

He is a Sword Emperor and a Life Stage cultivator after all; maybe he still has the belief that he can escape certain death.”

”Hahahaha.” One thing about the immortal families—they always look for each other’s downfall, so whenever they get the chance to ridicule each other, they don’t slack off.

Suddenly, the large door opened, and two old people, a man and a woman, walked out. Everyone sitting inside a carriage jumped down and put away the carriages.

Many recognized the two elders as the sect leader and vice leader of the Whispering Wind Sect.

Jest, who had recovered, had to stop and also stood up.

’Immortal Lords, huh... But why are they looking at me with indignation?’ Jest sensed their stares, and for some reason, he felt like they didn’t like him.

’I am overthinking it. Maybe they recognized my greatness and want to leave an impression.’ After convincing himself, Jest smiled in his head.

The old man was the first to speak. ”My name is Immortal Lord Ritsu, the acting sect leader of the Whispering Wind Sword Sect.” He turned to the old lady.

”And this is Immortal Willa, the vice sect leader.”

”Welcome, everyone.”

Everyone, potential disciples, bowed.

Jest remained standing like a tree.

This didn’t escape Immortal Lord Ritsu and Willa’s gaze. However, they said nothing.

”We only came here today to welcome you, since after today, some of you will become part of this family. Nevertheless, be happy you at least had a chance.”

After saying that, Immortal Ritsu turned to Jest. ”What is your name, boy?”

”Jest.”

”Pardon me,” he said.

”My name is Jest, old man.”

Many disciples gasped, hearing how Jest addressed the old man. However, to their shock, Immortal Ritsu smiled. ”Bold name for a brat.”

”I get that a lot, but I guess all credit goes to my mom, who had a sense of humor.”

”That, I guess, she had. In any case, we are here for you.”

”Lucky me, I guess.”

”You climbed the Infinity Stairway, so automatically, you are a disciple. However, because of your remarkable feat, you now have a chance to challenge the Sword Bridge. Do you accept?”

Jest first turned toward the immortal heir whom he had promised to kill and made the throat-slitting gesture, causing the poor kid to break into a cold sweat.

Immortal Ritsu and Willa narrowed their eyes, seeing this, and sighed.

’This kid is interesting,’ they both thought.
