Earth's Greatest Magus

The academy year pressed forward with a relentless focus on training.

Every member of Hall 6 was dedicated to honing their abilities, pushing themselves beyond their limits to prove worthy of the prestigious new hall they now called home.

For Emery, this period of intense focus was no different. Apart from his weekly guidance sessions and coaching Shinta and a few others, Emery spent most of his days immersed in his training.

His primary focus was the cultivation of his nature core. Using the [Verdant Ascension] technique, Emery deepened his connection to the mystical Elysian tree, a sacred force tied to the very essence of nature. The technique not only amplified his mastery over the law of nature but also served as a conduit through which he communed with the tree, learning its ancient secrets and unraveling the mysteries of life and growth.

When not focusing on the law of nature, Emery turned to the [Prism of Light] technique, the gift he had received from a celestial being. Through deep meditation, Emery improved his comprehension of the law of light. The dual training in both nature and light complemented each other, gradually enhancing the balance within his domains.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks melted into months. Emery’s routine became a harmonious rhythm of cultivation and teaching, each session fueling his progress

One month.

Two months.

Three months.

In the fourth month, Emery’s training was unexpectedly interrupted by thrilling news from the Utopia City Gene Center.

The air crackled with anticipation as he received word from Master Bob and Master Reikun, the two esteemed gene masters spearheading the Supreme Gene Project. Their research had finally begun to bear fruit. After meticulously collecting and experimenting with thousands of blood samples from various sources, they achieved a remarkable breakthrough, realizing a 30% increase in efficiency in their gene manipulation processes. This improvement was no small feat; it meant they were now able to create a higher strain of acolytes, one that would surpass the limits of what had been previously thought possible.

With this newfound breakthrough, Emery stepped away from his rigorous training regimen. He immediately summoned all the available apothecary masters to assist him in developing new gene booster recipes tailored to the enhanced capabilities of the newly created strain.

The potential of the new strain was immense, and he was determined to harness it fully. He initiated discussions with the masters, brainstorming ideas and combining their extensive knowledge. Each faction had its own methodologies; the Ouroboros and Silvermane also summoned their masters to contribute their own recipes, adding to the wealth of experience in the room. For nearly two decades, Emery had honed his craft, creating gene boosters through a meticulous process that involved the careful blending of acidic poisons and potent reagents.

With VIA’s assistance, alongside the formidable Chututlu’s venoms and his own unique [Photosynthesis] ability, Emery embarked on the creation of an upgraded version of the renowned [Legendary Blood Elixir].

The lab buzzed with activity as he and the other masters worked side by side, measuring, mixing, and experimenting with various ingredients. The air was thick with the scent of rare herbs and volatile concoctions, the atmosphere electric with the promise of discovery.

“SUCCESS!!”

After countless trials and adjustments, they finally achieved a breakthrough: this new elixir exhibited twice the potency of its predecessor. Those who had previously consumed the elixirs and reached their limits could once again experience the benefits, enabling them to push their abilities further than ever before.

Despite this remarkable progress, Emery was keenly aware of the limitations that remained. Like the original version, the new elixir’s effects were capped at half-blood gene rank 6, losing potency for those of higher rank. This meant that while the elixir would benefit many, it would not be as effective for peak magus or grand magus, most of whom had already reached rank 7. Nonetheless, the breakthrough was significant enough to send ripples through the Half-Blood community.

The potential of the [Legendary Blood Elixir] was vast; with sufficient resources, acolytes could boost their gene rank, enhance their physical prowess and spirit power, and even awaken latent abilities they had yet to discover.

As the news of their success spread, excitement enveloped the academy, drawing attention from factions across the realms, all eagerly sought access to the new elixir, hoping to seize the opportunity to elevate themselves. Emery, alongside the Ouroboros and Silvermane factions, wasted no time in launching their own versions of the newly enhanced gene boosters.

Each faction achieved similar results, quickly establishing their presence in the marketplace. However, Emery was fully aware that he could not compete with the massive resources of the Ouroboros and Silvermane, whose extensive networks and wealth allowed them to produce in far greater quantities.

Recognizing this limitation, Emery forged a strategic alliance with the Insectoid race. They offered a substantial investment in exchange for a share of the profits. In return, Emery agreed to provide exclusive batches of the elixirs to the insectoid race. This partnership not only provided Emery with the funds he needed to keep up with the competition but also secured a strong, long-term ally.

Despite these efforts, the overwhelming demand for the new gene boosters soon led to a scarcity of certain rare materials. As supplies dwindled, Emery and the other masters were forced to scramble, racing to find alternative ingredients or create less potent versions of the elixirs. This created a tense atmosphere of competition as each faction sought to maintain its edge in the market.

Emery had anticipated these challenges. He swiftly developed specialized recipes tailored specifically for the different half-blood races. His research had led him to create distinct elixirs that catered to the unique genetic makeups of the serpents, the insectoids, and the wolf half-bloods. These customized formulas were more efficient and better suited to each race’s needs.

The timing of the elixirs’ creation couldn’t have been better, as the academy’s half-year exams were fast approaching.
