Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2902: Cultivation

From Gwen’s uncertain condition to the increasingly complicated situation surrounding Dawnstar, Emery understood that none of these matters could be resolved in a matter of days.

For many, such pressure would already begin to erode their focus, and even among high-level magus, there were countless examples of individuals whose cultivation had been disrupted by unresolved emotions.

Anxiety, ambition, fear, and desire. In more severe cases, they could manifest as inner demons, dragging even powerful magus into a spiral of self-destruction from which they could not return.

Emery was well aware of this danger.

Fortunately, walking the path of balance had tempered his mind, and his experiences had forged a mental resilience that allowed him to acknowledge these emotions without being consumed by them. Rather than dwelling on what he could not yet change, he directed his attention toward what was within his control.

His immediate priority lay in refining the artifact he had recently obtained—the Sun and Moon Disc.

Unlike the version he had encountered within the Cosmic Palace, which had existed only as a projection, the artifact in his possession was real. It was a top-grade treasure that required complete refinement before it could be wielded, and the process was far more demanding than anything he had anticipated.

From the very beginning, it became clear that this was not a task suited for ordinary methods.

These were spirit weapons—treasures designed specifically for Spirit Masters, constructed with intricate layers that required precise synchronization between one’s soul power and the artifact itself. Their nature was fundamentally different from conventional weapons.

Under normal conditions, he might have been able to approach the challenge with steady progress, but his current state made things far more difficult. His injuries had yet to fully heal, creating instability within his sixth-layer pagoda, making it difficult to maintain the level of mental control required.

Even with the assistance of the Astra link artifact, which enhanced his senses and allowed him to better grasp the structure of the weapon, progress remained painfully slow.

Hours passed, yet the result was minimal.

At best, he could cause the disc to tremble slightly, barely lifting it from its resting state. The gap between that and actual control was immense, and the realization gradually settled in that at this pace, it would take months before he could even begin basic manipulation, let alone utilize the techniques embedded within the weapon.

After careful consideration, Emery came to a conclusion.

Even if he were to fully recover, wielding such a powerful top-grade treasure would still remain beyond his current capabilities.

The limitation did not lie solely in his physical condition but in his limited mastery over soul power and mental control. Without addressing that foundation, any attempt to force progress would only result in wasted effort.

With that understanding, he made the decision to stop and shifted his focus toward something else.

The Cosmic Palace Knowledge Halls.

As he entered the hall, he considered searching for a divine technique, perhaps a supreme spirit champion legacy that could strengthen his control over his spirit attack and grant him the refinement he lacked. A path centered on cultivating the soul.

However, that plan will have to wait as there was already something else waiting for him within the hall.

The second form of the Stellar Beast Emperor legacy.

Without hesitation, Emery returned to the inheritance space and stood once more before the second stone tablet. As he had done previously, he summoned both of his avatars, allowing them to assist in the comprehension process and significantly accelerate his progress.

As his attention focused on the tablet, the name of the technique revealed itself.

[Stellar Beast Core Assimilation]

The moment he began to study it, the knowledge contained within the tablet unfolded rapidly, forming a complex visualization within his mind. Unlike the first form, which emphasized physical execution, this technique presented itself as a network of connections—intricate pathways resembling a star system.

At the center of this system were two cores.

His own.

And that of a stellar beast.

The method described was not one of simple absorption but of assimilation, where the essence of a stellar beast could be refined and integrated into his own existence.

Despite its complexity, Emery immersed himself fully in the comprehension.

Time passed unnoticed.

By the time he completed the initial understanding, seven days had already gone by.

[Times Up]

Without delay, he moved to a specially prepared cultivation chamber within his Terra Neo territory, a place built upon a rich spirit vein that continuously supplied him with the energy required for such an undertaking. As his physical body absorbed the surrounding energy, his consciousness shifted inward, entering his inner world.

There, the Star Devouring Beast awaited.

Its massive form loomed within his soul space, radiating a presence that was both ancient and overwhelming.

Following the pathways he had learned, Emery began the process of assimilation.

Day after day, the connection between him and the beast deepened, the once abstract pathways gradually becoming tangible links that bound their essences together. The process was neither smooth nor easy, as the beast’s nature constantly pressed against his own, testing the limits of his control.

Yet he endured.

Weeks turned into months, and with each passing day, the bond grew stronger.

[Your soul power increases]

[Your understanding in the law of devouring has increased]

The improvements were steady, reinforcing his belief that he had chosen the right path.

Then, after three months of continuous cultivation, the breakthrough came.

With a deep, resonant roar that echoed within his very soul, the Star Devouring Beast responded to his efforts, and Emery successfully ignited thousands of the smaller stars within the stellar system, completing a minor constellation, a first out of three parts of the cultivation.

A surge of primal energy flooded through him, its intensity stirring his emotions while simultaneously strengthening his core.

During the process, he felt a noticeable change within his body.

His recovery had accelerated significantly, shaving off a considerable amount of time that would otherwise have been required to fully heal.

However, that was not the only change.

As his connection with the Star Devouring Beast deepened, something unexpected revealed itself.

Emery began to sense a profound energy emanating from the golden runes etched across the beast’s massive form. These runes, which he had previously regarded as part of the creature’s natural structure, now pulsed faintly with a mysterious resonance—as if responding to his growing understanding.

”What is it?”

The question slipped from his lips almost instinctively.

Focusing his divine sense, Emery carefully probed the runes, extending his awareness toward them. What he felt was not mere energy, but something far more complex—an imprint, perhaps even a message embedded deep within their structure.

It was ancient.

Profound.

And just as he began to reach toward that hidden meaning—

A voice broke through his concentration.

Coming from beyond the cultivation chamber.

It was Klea.

”Those Astiel are ready to meet.”
