Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2675: Temporal Duel 4

Minutes earlier...

The battle teetered on a knife’s edge. The dark version of Emery, already bloodied and battered in his half-primal form, found himself cornered, his strength waning under the crushing force of the dark elf Talaro. Victory had been almost certain for the elf—until the skies lit up in hues of crimson and gold.

Morgana descended like a burning comet, her arrival announced by a wave of cosmic flame that swept across the battlefield. The chilling domain conjured by Talaro began to melt away under her radiant heat.

Vayarel followed close behind, his presence no less fierce. Without hesitation, he leapt to aid Livi, who still rode atop the writhing serpent beast, locked in battle with five skeletal monstrosities.

Meanwhile, Morgana unleashed a barrage of fireballs that forced Talaro to halt his assault and retreat, gliding backward through the air.

”You’re right on time...” the dark Emery muttered, panting. Blood dripped from a gash along his ribs, his form flickering with unstable energy.

Morgana’s eyes met his, and without needing to say a word, she understood. She could feel it. The familiar essence of Khaos burned within this version of Emery, and their blood bond told her all she needed to know.

Without a word, she reached out and placed her palm firmly on his shoulder.

A surge of warmth flowed from her hand, like sunlight melting frost. Her cosmic flame dove deep into his flesh, seeking the icy poison embedded within. A sharp hiss echoed as fire met frost.

”Thank you,” he muttered. ”I really needed that...”

Across the field, the dark elf, Talaro, hovered midair, his expression twisted in fury. His breath came short, jaw clenched. He had been so close. Victory was within his grasp. One more moment, one more strike, and he would have crushed a Khaos champion underfoot. But now—another had appeared.

Three Khaos champions.

Each marked by the presence of the Khaos guardian—Killgragah, Chututlu, and Dragototh.

His lips moved in a whisper, more prayer than threat. ”My lord... I will prove it. I am the one. I am your most faithful servant.”

A sudden pulse of power surged around him

Shadow descended—a monstrous presence rippling with otherworldly energy. Dragototh emerged in full form, infused with the strength of three cosmic realms. Twin sabers shimmered in his arms, and a suit of freezing armor encased his form.

Morgana stepped forward, casting a wall of searing flame.

WHOOSH!

The freezing saber cleaved through it. Frozen air rushed in as Talaro burst through the breach, his form blurring with spatial magic. Morgana startled; the dark elf moved too fast.

”I’ll take this!” Emery shouted as he stepped forward, bending the space, and with Void Blade raised, he met Talaro’s lethal strike head-on.

BAMM!

Emery blocked just in time; his Void Blade groaned against the twin sabers, raw power clashing with absolute chill.

Though Emery’s Primal Form granted him enhanced strength, it wasn’t enough to stop the force entirely. Both arms trembled violently from the clash; the numbing cold gnawed through and slithered up his limbs like a serpent of frost.

Morgana didn’t wait. She extended her hand again and summoned a surge of her Cosmic Flame, condensed into a pulsing tide of heat that she launched straight into Emery’s body. Ｒ𝐚ɴȱʙĚȘ

Flames enveloped him in an instant—purifying, empowering, and burning away the invasive cold.

”ARRRGHH!!” Emery bellowed inpain.

Yet from that agony, power surged. The shadows around him stirred, and behind him, the formless image of Chututlu manifested in a flickering silhouette, lending its strength to push Talaro back.

Without missing a beat, Morgana followed up. She twirled, casting three consecutive Firebolts, their trajectory spiraling unpredictably like phoenix feathers. One struck home—slamming into Talaro’s side. He grunted and staggered, a curl of smoke rising from his armor.

Through their soul-linked bond, she could feel his limits and focus her energy precisely. Even with her Dawn Transformation, even with Cosmic Flames coursing through her, she lacked the raw close-quarter dominance to withstand Talaro’s three cosmos battle power. Especially now, with her full strength partially suppressed by the realm restriction.

So she adapted.

Instead of challenging Talaro directly, she played the role of support, casting ranged attacks and manipulating elemental conditions.

Emery and Morgana moved in perfect rhythm—attacking, countering, and covering one another’s vulnerabilities. With every strike, they defied the overwhelming might of Talaro and his frost-forged avatar, Dragototh

But their coordination wasn’t enough to last. The longer the fight dragged on, the more strained Emery became.

The next blow came in hard. Talaro blinked through space—flickered behind Emery like a phantom—and drove both sabers down. Emery was sent flying, blood spilling from his lips.

”Emery!!” Morgana shouted, her voice tight with panic.

Without hesitation, she stepped forward and unleashed [Hell Inferno].

A searing wave of flame blasted across the battlefield—a tidal burst of red and gold that roared like a furious dragon. The air itself curled away from the heat as the inferno swallowed Talaro in a sweeping arc.

The frost-armored elf grunted and recoiled, forced to leap back. It wasn’t enough to injure him—but it was enough to buy them a moment.

”Heal up... I’ll hold him!” Morgana shouted, sliding into Emery’s place.

But Emery lifted his hand weakly, eyes still burning with determination.

”No... you can’t. He’s too strong.”

And he was right.

Talaro’s speed was unnerving. The way he phased between spaces, using his mastery of spatial laws, made him nearly untouchable.

Then, Emery made a decision.

He reached into his robes and pulled out a small, familiar pill—glowing faintly. Morgana’s eyes widened.

The Dual Refinement Pill.

The same one she’d taken not long ago.

The pill granted terrifying boosts to the physical body—temporarily elevating one’s strength, speed, and pain resistance to unnatural levels. But the cost was steep. Consuming it once was dangerous. Twice was foolish. Thrice was borderline suicidal.

And Emery?

This was his fourth pill.

He smiled grimly, already lifting the pill to his lips.

”How do you think I’ve lasted this long?”

He crushed it between his teeth.

For a heartbeat, nothing happened. Then—

BOOM!!

His body surged with energy. Muscles tensed, veins glowed.

From the depths of Khaos, Killgragah’s grating voice echoed:

added Chututlu.

The battle resumed.

He charged.

The two-on-one skirmish pushed toward its final crescendo. Morgana continued casting, weaving defensive flames and disrupting Talaro’s advance, while Emery stayed close as the vanguard.

His void blade danced like a storm. Each strike came faster, harder—but every blow also took something from him.

Though empowered, Emery’s body was fracturing from the inside. His veins bulged unnaturally, skin cracking with streaks of violet and black. Blood mixed with void energy leaked from the corners of his eyes.

Still, he pressed on.

Then came the moment.

The effects of the pill have finally gone.

He was done. His body couldn’t take more. But as he looked across the battlefield, a weak smile played on his lips.

”My job is done...”

A roar echoed from the far side of the battlefield.

Kronos screamed in agony, while the other Emery stood victorious.

Talaro cursed in annoyance.

”Dammit!”
