Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2641: God of Time

A storm of cheers erupted from the Kronos supporters, sweeping across the stadium like a tidal wave. The thunderous chant of Julian’s name was quickly drowned beneath the overwhelming arrival of a figure revered as a god among gods.

Kronos—the Time Sovereign, Lord of the Kronos Faction—stepped into the arena.

The battlefield itself seemed to bend to his presence. He was no ordinary warrior. His tall, imposing figure moved with the grace of inevitability. His silver hair flowed down past his shoulders, and his eyes shimmered with swirling galaxies.

Unlike his sons, Kronos had long since ascended to the pinnacle of the One-Cosmos Grand Magus Realm. He had mastered the synergy between cosmic energy and forged a bond with the most elusive Law of Time.

According to Jinkan’s intelligence, Kronos had remained in this realm for centuries—not due to a lack of talent or resources, but because of how profoundly intricate his comprehension of time had become. As a result, he stood as one of the most overpowered One-Cosmos Grand Magus in the Magus universe.

Kronos smiled faintly, almost wistfully.

”Be proud that you, an Earthborn, have come this far.”

He raised a hand—and summoned a colossal scythe. Its blade was obsidian-black, crackling with fractal lightning and runes that pulsed with forgotten power. The air warped around it.

Then Kronos unleashed his cosmic power.

A pressure descended upon the arena so great that even the strongest of spectators felt it crush their lungs. The air burned with the weight of stars.

”Let the next round start!!” Shouted Hermes.

Julian reacted immediately. His halo burned brighter. His four golden wings flared, and he launched himself into the air, sword and shield ready. No hesitation.

The battle began with a sonic shockwave.

Julian surged forward with divine speed, his shield deflecting rippling energy blasts from Kronos’s mere presence. His sword flashed in arcs of blinding gold. He went all out, unleashing everything he had against the most powerful foe he had ever faced.

But Kronos parried them with the casual grace of a predator swatting aside insects. His scythe, impossibly massive, moved like a whisper through the air. It spun in wide arcs that warped the very air. With each swing, Kronos created temporal afterimages, making it nearly impossible to tell which blade was real until it was too late.

Julian struggled.

His blade landed late. Too late. Kronos had already moved, and his counterattack arrived a heartbeat early. A slash of cosmic power struck Julian square in the ribs, sending him tumbling through the air, his shield shuddering with the impact.

The crowd gasped as Julian’s body flipped end over end before slamming into the marble floor with a crack that echoed across the arena.

Kronos did not relent. He advanced like a phantom, vanishing and reappearing with flickers of displacement. Julian leapt to his feet, wings flaring wide to take to the air, but his follow-up slash missed again—off by half a second. Kronos’s next strike connected with his leg, sending him spiraling.

To the untrained eye, it looked like Julian was losing his rhythm, misstepping over and over. But to those who understood the deeper arts of magic, it was something else entirely.

Kronos had begun to bend time.

The god of time had subtly warped the flow of seconds around his opponent. Julian’s perception was altered. His movements, once fluid and precise, now seemed staggered—half a beat too late, half a breath too slow. It was as though he was stuck playing in a song that Kronos conducted alone.

Julian’s holy strikes missed their mark by inches.

”What’s wrong?” Kronos taunted, his voice now sounding as though it came from multiple places at once. ”Is that all you have?”

Another strike—this time to Julian’s back, followed by an uppercut from the blunt end of the scythe that cracked his jaw.

The Earth faction reeled.

This was the true might of Kronos—leader of the Kronos faction, God of Time, a peak One-Cosmos Grand Magus whose very presence distorted the laws of nature. ȒÃƝꝊＢЁš

Despite all his divine power, Julian was now caged within an invisible prison—a temporal labyrinth.

Julian stumbled again as he blocked another impossible blow, sliding back across the arena floor. Blood leaked from a wound on his side, and his golden aura flickered under the strain.

Kronos’s voice rang out again, calm and condescending.

”Don’t disappoint me now. Show me... what you’ve prepared to face me.”

Julian’s lips pressed into a hard line.

He breathed once. Deeply.

Then he whispered a sacred verse under his breath.

The golden flames around his body surged higher, and his wings widened. Sacred sigils spiraled across his armor. Flames of holy judgment wrapped around his limbs.

Julian adjusted.

Little by little, his footwork became lighter. His strikes were more fluid. He began to anticipate Kronos’s movements.

Another clash—Julian deflected the scythe not with brute force, but with a perfectly timed twist of his shield. His sword followed up with a streak of light that forced Kronos to tilt his head, narrowly avoiding the strike.

This was what Julian had prepared to fight the god of time.

Instead of trying to fight against the flow of time, he did something else—he cloaked his body with rotational blessings, using the Flame of Faith not only as protection but as a temporal stabilizer.

His form glowed brighter. His steps steadied.

He launched forward, and this time—his strike landed.

BAMM!!

A solid blow against Kronos’s scythe, their weapons locking with a blast of force that split the ground below.

Julian then unleashed his first series of advanced techniques: [Radiant Cross]—a devastating cross-slash infused with holy energy that split the ground in golden streaks, pushing his opponent back.

A faint line of blood marked Kronos’s lips.

He paused, eyes narrowing slightly.

Then he smiled—not in mockery, but in something closer to respect.

”You are indeed a rare breed...” Kronos said. ”Unfortunately, you were born mortal.”

Julian, eyes focused, countered between breaths. ”You are wrong!! It’s because I was born mortal that I become what I am.”

Kronos’s eyes narrowed. The smile faded.

”You speak with the wisdom of a mortal too,” Kronos replied, his voice colder now. ”But soon... you will understand.”
