Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2252: Trip

Surprisingly, it took Shinta over 150 hours in the Plant Origin Room to finally break through her 6th pillar, propelling her to the peak of mid-stage rank 9 among the acolytes. The long and grueling process tested her patience and determination, but her perseverance paid off. Fortunately, the extended use of the Origin Room was fully sponsored, thanks to her newly elevated status among the Hall 9 acolytes.

Upon her return, Shinta sought out Lucius and, through her persuasive efforts, secured even more support. She managed to purchase some of the most expensive and rare items compatible with her dual affinity for darkness and plant elements. Among these was a particularly rare set of techniques, known as [Duskvine Hex], which cost Lucius more than a few million spirit stones and 200,000 contribution points.

It was a series of ancient curse spells, each designed to inflict harm, weaken, or even kill its target. The techniques were powerful, complex, and perfectly suited to her unique elemental combination.

Lucius, expecting Shinta to now focus on training with the rest of the team, was surprised when she instead vanished from Hall 9, reappearing at Hall 60 to seek out her father.

There, she continues her study and practice of the Dao divine technique, striving to perfect the balance between her two elements under Emeryʼs guidance.

After spending hours guiding Shinta, Emery became increasingly certain that the mysterious energy emerging within her core was none other than the essence of Devour—an energy similar to his own.

Recognizing the significance of this discovery, Emery decided that Shinta needed a deeper understanding of this power, so he planned a special trip for the two of them.

It was a father-and-daughter journey to one of the more moderately safe Khaos waypoint destinations—a dense jungle planet teeming with towering trees and magical beasts, untouched by human civilization. ”What are we doing here?”

”Weʼre here to hunt,”

Emery explained that the purpose of this trip was not just to train but to help her tap into her beast nature, to feel the pulse of the wild, and to understand the harmony between life and the elements.

The two of them transformed, their bodies shifting into their respective forms, and they began to run through the dense forest. For hours, they sprinted across the jungle, their senses heightened as they became one with the natural world around them.

They hunted, stalked prey, and reveled in the thrill of the chase. Emery encouraged Shinta to let go of her inhibitions and fully embrace the primal power within her, just as he had learned to do many years ago.

This experience was particularly crucial for Shinta, who had spent most of her life within the structures of the serpent factions. The freedom and wildness of the jungle offered her something new—a way to connect with the law of Devour and her dual elements. These were lessons that Emery himself had learned from the fey sisters two decades ago, and later, from Heorgar fifteen years ago. Now, he was passing on that knowledge to his daughter, hoping it would guide her in mastering the complex and potent energies within her.

After spending an entire day observing Shintaʼs transformations and abilities, Emery began guiding her in developing her own Devouring technique. As he assessed her current capabilities, it became clear that Shintaʼs claws werenʼt efficient enough to harness the full potential of the technique. Instead, she would need to rely on her fangs.

”Really? Like the bats?” Shinta asked, slightly dubious.

Emery nodded a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Over the next few days, the two of them remained in the jungle, dedicating their time to refining Shintaʼs abilities. While she practiced her new technique, focusing on honing her predatory instincts, Emery took advantage of the environment to further explore his newly learned true body. He used his clone to scout the surrounding areas, searching for high-level beasts that could be useful for their training, as well as rare high-tier materials for his apothecary endeavors.

They ventured deeper into the uncharted parts of the continent, moving farther away from the waypoints. Finally, after days of intense practice and relentless hunting, Shinta managed to properly execute the [Spirit Devour] technique. The sense of accomplishment was evident in her eyes as she successfully absorbed the essence of a powerful creature. Ȑ𝐀ΝÒ฿Е𝘚

Emery, watching her with pride, said, ”Good. Now that youʼve mastered the basics, itʼs time to push yourself further. Start hunting stronger creatures.”

Using his divine sense, Emery kept a watchful eye on Shinta from a distance, allowing her the freedom to hunt on her own while ensuring her safety. He carefully selected her targets, focusing on nature and darkness-type creatures that would complement her abilities and offer the best conditions for her to refine her skill.

Shinta eagerly took to the task, integrating her newly acquired [Duskvine Hex] technique into her hunts. The curse spells made it easier for her to weaken and capture her prey before proceeding to devour them. As she honed this deadly combination, Emery observed her progress with satisfaction.

”Very good,” To keep her spirits high and maintain her energy, he would reward her by preparing nourishing meals before she set off on her next hunt. Each successful hunt bolstered Shintaʼs confidence and skill, driving her to push further.

Days passed as they continued this rigorous routine. Shintaʼs relentless pursuit led her to slay over a hundred high-level magical creatures, each kill filling her spirit core with potent energy. Once Emery saw that her core was fully charged, he introduced her to the next stage of her training: the [Spirit Absorption] technique.

With each creature she devoured and the energy she absorbed, Shintaʼs comprehension deepened. The mysterious essence within her, which had been building up for months, began to solidify. Under Emeryʼs careful guidance, Shinta made remarkable progress and finally broke through to the next rank.

[Seventh pillar was formed - Devour]

”Congratulations,” Emery said, his voice filled with pride. Shinta beamed with joy, her elation palpable.

The ten-day trip had been a resounding success, allowing Emery to accomplish several key objectives. Shinta not only mastered the devour technique and achieved a significant breakthrough, but the time they spent together also deepened their bond.

Moreover, the trip yielded an unexpected treasure—a rare Ashenbark tree, a tier 6 wood that was highly compatible with his Elysian trees. Recognizing the opportunity, Emery left his true clone behind to search for more of these valuable trees while he and Shinta made their way back to the academy.
