Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2025: Rumors

As expected, Katʼs outspoken attitude and influence quickly spread the rumors of a certain ”magic pool” among the acolytes, causing rumors to ripple through the academy within hours.

Word of the poolʼs extraordinary effects circulated rapidly.?It wasnʼt just helping acolytes break through their realms; there was also the increased battle power, and some even claimed an improvement in their aptitude percentages.

”No way! Increase in aptitude? How much of an increase are we talking about?”

”I gained a 1% increase! My aptitude is now at 70%! I can hardly believe it!”

”I got a 2% boost! I swear Iʼm not making this up!”

Such testimonies fueled the excitement, and soon, curiosity turned into a fervent desire to witness the phenomenon firsthand. A buzz of anticipation filled the halls as acolytes eagerly discussed their plans to visit Hall 120 and experience the pool for themselves.

Moreover, the fact that the benefits were offered freely, without any contracts or demands, only added to Emeryʼs newfound popularity. He was now not just admired for his skill as an instructor but also revered for his generosity.

The following day, a steady stream of curious acolytes flocked to witness the renowned ”magic pool” for themselves. Emery, recognizing the demand, implemented a strategic approach to manage the influx.

He permitted a limited batch of ten acolytes per day to enter the pool. Regardless of their origin, whether from the lower realms or not, all were granted entry free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. However, those who applied for admission to the hall were given priority access.

In a strategic move to entice potential recruits, Emery unveiled a superior product to be bestowed upon those who committed to joining the hall by the end of the month. Leveraging his expertise, he had crafted two-tiered products: the [Earth Body Cleansing] for Earth realm individuals and the [Sky Body Tempering] for sky-level acolytes, ranging from rank 7 to 9.

Both products were meticulously formulated by Emery, drawing inspiration from his extensive knowledge of apothecary. The [180 Celestial Meridian Pills] served as the master recipe, while the [Heavenly body tempering] bath by Master Dulin provided additional insights. These concoctions were designed to enhance oneʼs physique and spirit, offering tangible benefits to those who partook.

While the physical benefits were guaranteed, the increased aptitude experienced by some was deemed a natural side effect of the purification process, beyond Emeryʼs direct control. Each individual experienced unique outcomes based on their inherent potential and receptiveness to the treatment.

This strategic approach epitomized Emeryʼs true intent: by offering the lesser product as a complimentary sampler and reserving the superior variant as an incentive, he aimed to attract new members to Hall 120.

Within three days, a total of 30 eager acolytes had ventured into the transformative waters, with 11 among them expressing a keen interest in joining Hall 120.

”18 acolytes!! Yes weʼve almost reached the minimum quota!” exclaimed Klea, her excitement palpable as she beamed with satisfaction.

”Among this batch, four of them have A aptitude, with two hailing from middle realm worlds,” added Damo, diligently recording each newcomerʼs details in his trusty notebook.

As the success of their strategy became evident, Damo turned to Emery with a question, ”Master, this strategy seems to be highly effective. Should we consider increasing the number of acolytes permitted to enter the pool?”

Emery, however, shook his head in response. He was not inclined to squander his valuable ingredients. Besides, maintaining a limit on entrants also allowed more time for the rumor of the magic pool to spread further andprovided an opportunity for more talented acolytes to emerge.

With nine days remaining until the deadline, Emeryʼs strategic approach still had the potential to benefit dozens more acolytes. He reasoned that the longer the queue, the greater the likelihood of potential recruits aligning themselves with Hall 120.

While they observed the new acolytes honing their skills in the yard, a sizable group of twelve acolytes made their entrance through the gate, with Kat leading them.

”Magus, today Iʼve brought all my brothers to witness the famed magic pool,” Kat addressed Emery with unexpected respect, her demeanor a departure from her usual brashness. She earnestly requested permission for them to experience the poolʼs effects. However, Emeryʼs response was firm.

”Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate you today as we have a limited quota,” he explained.

Damo leaned in and whispered to Emery, informing him that some of these acolytes were well-known second and third-

year students. He urged Emery to reconsider and make an exception for them.

Emery regarded Kat with a gentle smile before replying, ”The next available date is in three days.”

Surprisingly, Emeryʼs refusal did not provoke any negative reaction from the group; instead, they all expressed willingness to patiently await their turn. However, Kat had arrived with another purpose in mind. ŘÁΝóʙЁš

”Magus, I have a strong intention to join your hall, and some of us do too, but we are waiting for our big brotherʼs decision,” Kat expressed earnestly. ”He will be here shortly, and I hope you can convince him.”

Emery nodded, understanding the significance of the leaderʼs approval. The term ”big brother” was a nickname for their leader, a figure of immense importance within their group. As they awaited his arrival, Damo mentioned a name—the leader was a famous acolyte from a humble background who had managed to break into the top 100 rankings and received a place among the top 10 halls. He was a proud role model for all lower-realm acolytes.

During the wait, Emery listened intently to more stories about this young man. He learned that the leader had started their small group from scratch and had gone to great lengths to defend them against arrogant acolytes from prominent factions. It was thanks to his strength and prestigious rank that their group had been able to survive in the academy.

The sincerity in their words and expressions stirred anticipation within Emery as he looked forward to meeting the man. However, Damo, with a more impartial perspective, warned him of the young manʼs tendency towards arrogance.

Minutes later, the young man finally entered the gate—a fierce-looking figure with messy grey hair and a formidable large sword strapped to his back. He strode confidently forward, but as his gaze fell upon Emery, a flicker of surprise broke through his cold expression.

Ignoring Kat and the group, he approached Emery with purpose, and to everyoneʼs surprise, he offered a gesture of deep respect and introduced himself. ”I am Dillion Gray,” he announced. ”I didnt realize itʼs you... Itʼs my honor to finally meet you… Savage Magus.”
