The Golem Mage

583: New Golem…

It was finally the second day, and the highly-anticipated second round fight between Onyx Academy and Gates Academy was about to commence.

The instructors were going from room to room, urging all members of the team to assemble and prepare for their Departure.

As they were getting ready for the second battle which they were participating in, scheduled to take place in the afternoon, as Selene passed, she banged on Alec’s door and called out to him.

“Alec, let’s go!” she exclaimed.

Through the locked door, Alec’s muffled voice reached her, “You guys go ahead, I’ll meet up with you all before the second match begins.” Alec said.

While Selene wanted to pull him out and have him witness the battle between Onyx Academy and Gates Academy, as their fighting style was somewhat similar to Alec’s own, she decided to respect his request and knew he would keep his word.

The team bid their farewells as they passed by Alec’s door.

The Dean, on the other hand, felt an urge to question Selene about Alec’s absence from the group.

However, he quickly realized that Selene had the authority to make decisions for the team, challenging her leadership at this moment would only undermine her capability, especially considering her dedication to the team.

Reluctantly, the Dean suppressed his curiosity, acknowledging that he had already intruded enough by bringing in two new instructors they didn’t like.

So he didn’t want to risk further alienation from the team.

Unlike the team and the new instructors, the Dean would be seated in the VIP section during the match.

With that in mind, he made his way towards the door as he desired to leave before the whole team, while the rest of the group proceeded to the arena.

Alec, on the other hand, remained astonished by several things, for instance, he had the opportunity to push his strength to the limits when he entered the beast forest during his slumber.

One thing he had overlooked was the fact that all his basic stats had reached the 200 point.

After engaging in intense battles with low and Mid Tier 5 beasts and emerging victorious, he now realized that his strength couldn’t be merely defined by numerical values.

It felt as if reaching those two hundred units had brought about yet another profound change to his entire body.

Although he would have loved to continue exploring his newfound strength upon waking up, but Alec knew there were more pressing matters that demanded his attention.

And presently, he stood before the refined Tier 5 Spirit Metal, which had undergone refinement from Alec’s Mana.

Earlier, Alec had anticipated difficulties in refining the metal due to its higher level compared to his realm.

However, after his breakthrough to the Tier 5 Mage Realm, he discovered that refining the Spirit Metal had become surprisingly easy for him.

Before him stood the refined metal, no longer resembling a black rock.

By utilizing his Mana, Alec had expertly compressed and carved the metal into the desired shape of the golem he sought to infuse with life.

Taking a step back, Alec admired the golem’s carefully carved form in front of him.

Hovering beside him, the ancestral book that had been gifted to him with the Golem Scroll seemed to levitate as if guided by an unknown force.

Alec extended his hand and drew the book closer to himself, gripping it tightly.

His eyes were fixed on the picture within the pages.

With unwavering focus, he used the intricate drawings in the book to confirm whether he had truly accomplished a perfect image.

“Finally, you have decided to create the Mage Hunter Golem.

Took you long enough,” remarked the system spirit golem at Alec’s side, observing the lifeless, refined golem body in front of them.

The Mage Hunter Golem had been recorded in the book passed down among the patriarchs of the Gordon clan.

After finally gaining access to knowledge about the various golems crafted by the Gordons from the system, Alec became enamoured with the design and power that the Mage Hunter Golem offered.

He had always planned to create it, but he lacked the necessary connection and channels to obtain the primary material required—the unrefined Spirit Metal.

However, now that he had secured the spirit metal and skilfully carved the desired golem shape, he could finally proceed with its creation.

With the reassurance that he had successfully shaped the golem, Alec took a few steps back, folding his arms, and touched his jaw contemplatively with his right hand.

He stared at the imposing new form of the golem standing proudly before him.

The golem stood tall in its humanoid form, slightly surpassing Alec’s own height, boasting a robust and bulky build reminiscent of a heavily armoured knight.

Instead of a left hand, a rounded hook-like appendage occupied its place, while a dark blue orb replaced its eye at the center of its head.

After ensuring the completion of the body refinement process, Alec summoned a rune pen from inside his space ring.

Following the instructions read from the levitating book that accompanied him, Alec diligently began drawing and engraving Rune symbols all over the golem’s body.

With each stroke of the pen, the enchanting symbols came to life, aligning with the ancient instructions passed down from the Gordon clan.

After twenty minutes of meticulous engraving, Alec completed the placement of all the requisite runes.

Now, only one final step remained, and it was the fact that he needed to cast the “create golem” spell for the golem to be infused with life.

“Shape and soul should merge, as the molded Giant awakens,” Alec began casting, as the runes he had drawn around the golem’s body started to glow.
