Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 566: Ascending the Heavenly Path, Singing Along the Way

Above the Foundation Establishment Realm lay the Boundless Sea of Bitterness.

Just as Lu Yang stepped out from 【Star-Plucking Tower】, that infinite, all-encompassing Sea of Bitterness suddenly revealed a hazy, illusory silhouette.

‘Lu Yang.’

The illusory figure gradually solidified—it was none other than Ancestor Tingyou. His gaze carried a trace of concern, as if it could pierce through the Sea of Bitterness to peer into the present world.

But in the very next moment——

“Rumble!”

Several beams of wondrous radiance—formed from Fruit Positions—swept through and almost instantly engulfed Ancestor Tingyou. Yet, when the light faded, he remained completely unscathed.

“Damn this Illusory-Real Fruit Position.”

In the Sea of Bitterness, a sword-wielding youth with handsome features appeared, his gaze toward Ancestor Tingyou brimming with killing intent. However, beneath that hostility lay a deep, concealed wariness. He was none other than 【True Lord of Heaven-Bearing Virtue】, the very one who had just launched the first strike against Ancestor Tingyou.

This was far from their first encounter.

In truth, they had hunted Ancestor Tingyou for a full thirty years, yet each time, he had evaded capture through the use of 【World Without Worry】.

【World Without Worry】 was neither offensive nor defensive.

Yet it had reached its pinnacle in terms of “evasion.” With Ancestor Tingyou’s unparalleled brilliance, he had pushed the Fruit Position’s traits to the limit.

At least, in single combat, early- and mid-stage Golden Core cultivators stood no chance against him. Only through group encirclement could they pose a threat. As for the only two late-stage Golden Core cultivators in the world today—【Angxiao】 was trapped in the Underworld and unable to act, while 【True Lord of Path-Spreading in Rigid Form】 was in poor condition and unwilling to intervene.

And so, against all odds, he had survived to this day.

“How now, Daoist Friend—are you worried about that demon dragon?”

“Speaking of which, Jiayou, you were practically livid when you ascended back then. Who would’ve thought, times have changed—even a demon dragon can now seek the Golden.”

“And it seeks the 【Heavenly Fire】, no less.”

“What on earth has happened in the present world? Has the Dao Court been usurped?”

As the True Lords conversed, they had already formed a great formation, trapping Ancestor Tingyou at its center. Seeing he had no path of escape, they finally relaxed.

“Today, if you don’t die, you’ll be crippled!”

“No rush. As long as we seriously wound Tingyou this time, loosen the seal of 【World Without Worry】 even slightly, we’ll be able to break through the barrier and observe the present world.”

Amid the circle of True Lords, Ancestor Tingyou’s expression remained calm. He simply pushed the profound mysteries of 【World Without Worry】 to their limit, completely concealing himself in the void.

‘I’ve revealed myself on purpose this time, to draw these True Lords in.’

‘Especially those four from the Dao Court—so long as their Fruit Positions are entangled with mine, they’ll find it difficult to exert influence on the present world. That should give Lu Yang a better chance.’

With this thought, Ancestor Tingyou became all the more resolute.

‘I hope that child doesn’t push himself too hard. The opportunity will come—I’ll win him the time!’

Above Star-Plucking Tower, Lu Yang suddenly felt a stirring in his heart. He raised his head and looked toward the heavens, his gaze piercing through the Foundation Establishment Realm and gazing upon the vast, boundless Sea of Bitterness above.

‘...Ancestor?’

His eyes flashed like lightning, though the brief resonance had already been cut off. Still, he had gained insight—his ancestor was above that Sea of Bitterness, likely engaged in relentless battle.

All for the sake of his Golden Core ascension!

Lu Yang raised his brow, gazing around. Wherever his eyes landed, even without releasing his aura, the Laws of the Immortal Kingdom surfaced of their own accord, expanding his authority.

His foundation was even deeper than Hongtian’s.

After all, Hongtian was merely the Immortal Court’s National Teacher, not the foremost cultivator. And now, with no True Lords present, no Dao Lords revealed, Lu Yang stood peerless across the Five Regions of the world!

The next second, Lu Yang formed a seal over his chest and intoned in thunderous voice:

“Matching the Hidden Seal of Xuandu, Ascend to the Forbidden Heights Above!”

【Blessed Land of the Mysterious Capital】!

In an instant, Lu Yang opened the Heavenly Gate above his head, drawing forth the myriad vistas within the 【Blessed Land of the Mysterious Capital】—pavilions, palaces, and tens of thousands of dwellings all began to manifest!

Compared to Hongtian, he didn’t even need to manifest divine abilities one by one. Instead, he fused them all into one, gathering into a brilliance as if containing ten thousand Dao. With that, a brilliant eruption occurred—melding with the golden essence, elevating the mysteries, raising the blessed land high into the air—he stepped directly into the Foundation Establishment Realm!

The speed of it all was astounding!

When Hongtian had sought the Golden Core, he had to manifest each divine ability step by step, building the stairway carefully, fearing a waste of golden essence. But Lu Yang had no such hesitation.

“Boom!”

A thunderous roar echoed as a magnificent golden radiance lifted beneath Lu Yang’s feet, transforming into a golden bridge stretching from beneath him directly into the realm of the 【Heavenly Fire】!

A smooth path to the heavens—achieved in a single stride!

Lu Yang’s sudden outburst caught everyone off guard. With no prior buildup, by the time the world’s Foundation Establishment cultivators reacted, he had already stepped onto the golden bridge.

Wherever the bridge passed, the Foundation Establishment Realm quaked. Lu Yang’s figure blazed with brilliance; sun and moon rotated around him, and all the world’s fate coalesced at this moment. So vast was this convergence that it surpassed illusion and transformed into real manifestations—True Dragon, Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise, White Tiger—all appeared in vivid radiance.

All was the natural culmination.

Thus, Lu Yang strolled casually upon the golden bridge, still finding time to look around and gaze down upon the world, like a traveler enjoying the scenery along the road.

At the same time, the entire Foundation Establishment Realm resonated with him.

Mountains, rivers, sun, moon, beings, palaces—the glory of all Nine Provinces seemed to converge upon him alone, rendering him transcendental, like an immortal ascending in flight.

On the other side, the 【Heavenly Fire】 responded as well.

No summons, no gaze—only the sun and moon falling from the sky as the once lofty 【Heavenly Fire】 unexpectedly descended on its own toward Lu Yang!

So fast—unbelievably so!

In just a few blinks, Lu Yang had already arrived before the 【Heavenly Fire】. Without hesitation, he guided the blessed land and rammed straight toward the Fruit Position.

“Dang——!”

A tremendous reverberation echoed through the Foundation Establishment Realm. Some of the weaker, newly established cultivators even vomited blood, their fragile Dao Foundations tottering.

Before the 【Heavenly Fire】, Lu Yang let out a deep sigh.

“Still... too late.”

Right before him, an invisible great net had separated him from the 【Heavenly Fire】. One side blocked his entry, the other side descended upon the Fruit Position.

It was the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】!

Staring at this wondrous treasure that had helped him so much yet now barred his final path, Lu Yang’s face showed a trace of disappointment.

In that moment, he had hoped to launch a surprise assault while everyone’s attention was elsewhere and seize the Fruit Position directly. After his debate with Hongtian, he had meditated for ten more years—his Dao attainments already complete. If he could catch the Dao Court off guard, it would’ve been a perfect outcome.

“.What a pity.”

Lu Yang calmed his emotions, and the disappointment faded from his face: “Still, perhaps this is better. Let’s have it out in one final battle and end all these karmic threads!”

With those words, all depth vanished from Lu Yang’s expression.

Instead, he burst into hearty laughter.

Amid his laughter, he stepped forward once more. The golden bridge beneath him, gathering myriad phenomena, all converged into one and crashed thunderously toward the great net!

“This thing—I’ve hated it for a long time!”

A butterfly caught in a spiderweb—even if it escaped by chance, the web remained, intact and ever-ready to ensnare again.

So long as it remained, his heart would not be free.

He would tear it apart!

In the next second, Lu Yang wielded the 【Tribulation‑Overcoming Wave】, empowered by the 【Unyielding Sword Intent】. Sword Qi tore through the present world, shattering the Thirty-Six Layers of Gang Clouds, and thunder roared across the sky:

“Kill——!!!”
