Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 552: True Person Hongtian

Lu Yang did not wait long on Lonely Heart Island.

Three days later, several streaks of light pierced through the sky and landed just outside the island. One among them wore resplendent robes, and atop his head gleamed a radiant official title:

【Sea‑Calming Envoy of the Immortal Court】, a second-rank official!

Not only that—at this moment, this title emitted spiritual brilliance. High above the sky, even visible Dao networks began to manifest to the naked eye, cascading ten thousand strands of radiant light that poured down upon the official title, constantly elevating the bearer’s qi aura, nearly reaching a critical threshold.

‘For the late Foundation Establishment stage, this is not weak.’

Lu Yang observed silently, knowing this was the effect of the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】. In the context of the 【False History】, the Immortal Court reigned supreme—so for the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】 to have such scale was not surprising.

Strictly speaking, it still didn’t compare to the present world.

In the current world, with his rule over the realm, the Laws of the Immortal Kingdom practically spanned the entire inland and overseas regions. Only the Sacred Sect and the Sword Pavilion’s ancestral grounds had remained untouched.

Nevertheless, even so, the enhancements the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】 provided to officials were tremendous. Though not enough for them to leapfrog stages in combat, it did allow them to reach the peak of their current realm without issue. More importantly—there were many officials.

It was a snowballing system.

The larger the scale of the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】, the stronger the officials became—until they could unify the world, perhaps even surpassing the other three great factions.

Were it not for this, he would never have allowed Chong Guang to remain outside.

After all, now that he had entered the 【False History】, if Chong Guang attempted Core Formation, Lu Yang would have no way of sensing it. But of course, he was confident Chong Guang wouldn’t act rashly.

‘Uncle Master Chong Guang is still shrewd. He’s an old True Person of the Sacred Sect—any intention to form a Core would be impossible to hide. If he dares attempt it, Empress Xiao and Tianqiu would surely crash the scene. Now that the 【Laws of the Immortal Kingdom】 cover the world, with its blessings, even if Uncle Master Chong Guang attempted Core Formation while distracted, he might still not be a match for them.’

As the saying goes: those who recognize the times are wise.

At this point, the momentum of him ruling the world was already set in stone. As long as Uncle Master Chong Guang wasn’t foolish, he wouldn’t risk opposing him now.

“Boom!”

The next second, the formation array of Lonely Heart Island activated. Suo Huan walked out with a smile and cupped his hands. “To have the Immortal Envoy grace us with your presence, this humble cultivator is truly honored.”

As a parallel self from another history, Suo Huan had no difficulty pretending to be Suo Lan. His deference and humility were etched into his very bones, leaving the two envoys with no suspicion. Instead, they nodded arrogantly and followed Suo Huan into the island without the slightest guard.

Then, both of them froze.

For the moment they entered the island and stepped into a grand hall, Lu Yang’s figure appeared before their eyes—instantly evoking an indescribable sense of mortal danger.

‘Not good.’

Before either could react, Lu Yang’s voice echoed faintly:

“Fellow Daoists, you were once disciples under my command. After reincarnating and infiltrating the various factions, how have you forgotten past karma? Will you not awaken at once?”

The words struck them dumb.

In an instant, under the influence of the 【Puppet Strings】, memories from their past lives surged forth. With a long sigh, they couldn’t help but exclaim:

“Ah! Who would have thought we were once subordinates of the lord!”

The next second, their eyes held no more vigilance—only loyalty: “Thank you, my lord, for enlightening us and guiding us back to the right path.”

“A mere lift of the hand,” Lu Yang grinned.

The entire process caused not even a ripple. The faint karmic disturbances were all nullified by formations pre-laid upon Lonely Heart Island.

From then on, there was no suspense.

If an official died, their title would return, exposing the truth. So Lu Yang refrained from acting against them. Instead, his gaze turned to the other cultivator from the Sword Sect. With a mere thought, that man’s face took on an expression of righteous sacrifice, willingly offering himself to Lu Yang—

“Boom!”

With one palm strike, the Sword Sect cultivator turned to ash. Almost simultaneously, Lu Yang’s mind cleared, and countless images appeared before his eyes.

They were the life of that person.

Born into a prominent family of the Sword Sect, he enjoyed luxury and effortless cultivation, forming his Foundation according to plan and eventually embarking overseas for experience, as his family instructed.

Lu Yang saw what the man’s fate would have been—had he never met Lu Yang.

Late Foundation stage, seeking perfection yet failing, dying of old age.

And through it all—his insights, his experiences, the karma entwined with them—were now vividly displayed before Lu Yang.

“Crack!”

In the next moment, the images shattered.

Looking at his palm, Lu Yang understood: ‘A decent strand of karma… but a pity—I am stronger, and my karmic weight is greater.’

The other’s karma had been crushed beneath his own.

After all, he had already reached the pinnacle of Foundation Establishment. A mere late-Foundation cultivator’s potential was meaningless to him, thus of no use.

However—

‘If it were a cultivator currently at perfect Foundation Establishment, who will surely become a True Lord in the future… then his potential would be tremendously valuable to me!’

With that thought, Lu Yang’s heart surged with heat:

‘At the very least, I’ve confirmed something—that even if not parallel selves, I can still seize another’s potential through slaying them!’

Almost instantly, Lu Yang’s mind leapt to that True Person Hongtian. That man seemed intent on verifying 【Heavenly Fire】 again. Having already failed once, the fact he dared to try again meant his confidence was immense. If Lu Yang killed him and seized that potential—it would be an enormous boon!

‘No… killing him outright would be wasteful.’

Lu Yang shook his head, frowning.

‘I must help him attain 【Heavenly Fire】. Then, at the instant of his success—I’ll strike him down. Only then will the seized potential be of maximum value!’

At this point, even Lu Yang couldn’t help but sigh:

‘Hong Yun, oh Hong Yun… Even in another thread of the 【False History】, you still bring me such fortune. Truly, you are my Hong Yun!’

In the last life, the turning point of reversal was thanks to you.

In this life, I must still rely on you!

At that moment, Lu Yang suddenly raised his brow.

Outside Lonely Heart Island, the sun rose magnificently, golden light blanketing the sea’s surface as if gilded in foil—reflecting a majestic, illusory scene.

In its midst, a lone figure stood silently.

He was handsome and elegant, clad in golden robes, left hand holding a book, right hand resting behind his back. At his waist hung an official seal—dignified and ethereal.

‘It’s that True Person Hongtian.’

Lu Yang was astonished, for though this True Person Hongtian was a parallel self of Hong Yun, he lacked the dejected air of five thousand years of failure. Instead, he radiated boundless drive and vigor. If not for their identical faces, Lu Yang might have doubted his identity.

He simply stood there, silently gazing at Lonely Heart Island.

He and Lu Yang within the island locked eyes across the barrier. His expression shifted—first confusion, then curiosity, then a strange, indescribable anticipation.

The next moment, he took a step forward.

With just that one step, he walked out of the sea’s reflection. His qi returned to a state of natural perfection—he, too, had reached the profound peak of Foundation Establishment.

A clear voice drifted on the wind:

“May I ask your name, fellow Daoist... Are you from the outside world?”
