All People: I Slay Gods with Martial Arts

140: Chapter 139 The Embryonic Form of the Heavenly Dao, the Human Emperor’s Contingency PlanAfter the starship entered the Human Emperor World, it quickly landed within a grand palace complex.

”An Imperial Dynasty?” Ye Xiu watched the rows of guards patrolling in an orderly fashion, feeling slightly surprised.

He had originally assumed that the Human Emperor World would be like the Changsheng World, ruled by the Daoist school.

He hadn’t expected this world to have entered the era of an Imperial Dynasty, establishing a complete dynastic system.

After everyone disembarked from the starship, those waiting to welcome them on the grand plaza approached.

”Fellow Daoist Qing Xuanzi, I didn’t expect you to be leading the team this time, haha. We brothers must have a few drinks this time.” The leader was burly and very rugged, yet his cultivation had already reached the Immortal Realm.

Qing Xuanzi looked at the rugged man before him. He chuckled and said, ”Your Highness is joking.”

”I am not joking with you, Fellow Daoist. If it hadn’t been for your rescue back then, I fear I would not have been able to successfully verify my Dao.”

As he spoke, he had already pulled Qing Xuanzi aside, beginning to chat about his insights over the years.

After ten minutes of pleasantries, the group was quickly arranged to stay in a main hall.

”Brother Ye, this is the Dayan Imperial Dynasty. Its influence is on par with the Changsheng World, ruling over the entire Human Emperor World. Furthermore, the Dayan Imperial Dynasty has seventeen Immortals, making it the strongest among the three worlds. It is rumored that the founding Old Ancestor is still alive.” Mu Qingqing explained.

Ye Xiu nodded. He had indeed sensed a power within the imperial palace that was not inferior to the Sect Leader of the Changsheng World. The source came from underground.

However, this power was already decaying; clearly, it was nearing its limit. It must be that founding Old Ancestor.

”Fellow Daoist, regarding the Dao of Responsibility, that Senior is the most qualified to discuss it. If you wish to understand it, I can introduce you.” Qing Xuanzi interjected from the side.

”No need. If he wishes to advance further, he will seek me out himself.” Ye Xiu shook his head slightly, went to the lounge in the main hall, and began to continue sensing the fundamental Dao within the Human Emperor World.

Seeing Ye Xiu so aloof, Mu Qingqing sat to the side, feeling somewhat dejected.

As an elder, Qing Xuanzi sighed softly and patted Mu Qingqing on the shoulder.

”Qingqing, you and he are not from the same world. Do not fall too deep.”

”Junior Martial Uncle, I didn’t...” Mu Qingqing said, already running out of the main hall to find her close friend.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Ye Xiu, sitting cross-legged in the lounge, felt his ears twitch slightly.

An aged voice suddenly reached his ears: ”Fellow Daoist, you do not look like someone from the Changsheng World. May I ask where you are from?”

”Are you the founding Old Ancestor?” Ye Xiu opened his eyes and, looking through the ground, saw an old man wearing a dragon robe sitting withered in a secret chamber.

”Founding Old Ancestor? Heh... I suppose so.” The Old Emperor smiled bitterly and continued: ”Fellow Daoist’s cultivation is the most impressive I have ever seen in my life. No wonder I felt the cultivation of the old Daoist Qing Yu drop before; it turns out it was because he met you.”

”You are stronger than that old Daoist. At the very least, even before I arrived, you were already trying to find a way to draw a line between yourself and this world.”

Ye Xiu took a step. He instantly arrived in the underground secret chamber. The old man before him was already on the verge of death.

”Before, I dared not confirm whether this path was right or wrong. Until I saw you, Fellow Daoist, I knew the path was correct. Unfortunately, I am too weak.”

”No, you are quite a figure. It is just that the Dao in the Human Emperor World is far more terrifying than you imagine. It is not that you are too weak, but that the Human Emperor is too strong.” Ye Xiu shook his head slightly.

This Old Emperor was on the verge of decay, not because his lifespan was insufficient. When stripping away the Heaven and Earth Law, the Dao this old man had pioneered must have suffered extremely severe damage. Added to the influence of the Human Emperor’s Dao of Responsibility, his immensely powerful Dao energy had actually fed back into the world; it would be difficult not to die.

The Old Emperor smiled bitterly for a long time. Then, with a tone of request, he said: ”Fellow Daoist, could you accompany me to a place to fulfill a promise?”

”No time.” Ye Xiu refused directly. He had no time to play promise games here. As time passed, the Supreme Realm experts in the Boundary Sea could return at any moment. At the moment, fully elevating the Heaven and Earth Law to the same height as the Immortal Ascension Method was the only thing that needed to be done. As for anything else, it was best to avoid it.

”In this world, there is not much that can catch your eye, Fellow Daoist, but I hope you can accept this.” As the Old Emperor spoke, he took a golden orb from his bosom. On this orb was a faint remnant spirit, seemingly alive, possessing a trace of instinctive consciousness.

”What is this thing?” Ye Xiu took the orb and examined it carefully. After studying it for a good while, he still couldn’t find any use for it.

”This is the Spirit of the Dao, born after countless years in the Human Emperor World.”

”I don’t see what use it has.”

”It is used to stabilize the world. I no longer have the chance to use it, but perhaps you might find a use for it, Fellow Daoist.”

”Stabilize the world?” Ye Xiu touched the golden orb, feeling the weak consciousness within. Suddenly, his heart gave a start. Could this be the embryonic Heavenly Dao? After all, the Main World had a Heavenly Dao. Since Supreme Realm experts evolve worlds according to the Main World, they would definitely consider the layer of the Heavenly Dao. Could this thing really be the embryonic Heavenly Dao? He put away the golden orb and said to the Old Emperor: ”Tell me, what place?”

Seeing Ye Xiu relent, a glimmer of hope rose in the Old Emperor’s heart. After a few seconds of silence, he slowly rose from his seat: ”Fellow Daoist, follow me.” As he spoke, he had already disappeared from the secret chamber.

Ye Xiu followed behind the Old Emperor, heading deep underground. After a few minutes, the two arrived at an extremely deep underground world. This place was shrouded in flames, the high temperature melting the rocks to form a dark red magma world.

The decaying Old Emperor raised his hand slightly. The magma world immediately split apart, revealing an altar.

”Fellow Daoist, could you destroy this altar for me?”

”You had best not break this thing. No wonder this world is targeting you; I didn’t expect you to have even brought this thing here.” Ye Xiu shook his head slightly.

This altar should be the Human Emperor’s contingency plan. Even without touching it, he could sense a trace of the Supreme Realm aura from it. It belonged to the Human Emperor. He had once felt the same aura on the day of Xing Mu’s coronation. Although the aura in the altar was countless times weaker than that day, it was indeed the same source.

”I can feel that there is something inside calling to me; it is a cry for help.” The Old Emperor seemed to be possessed, his eyes bloodshot, staring fixedly at the altar.

”It can even bewitch an Immortal?” Ye Xiu looked at the altar, a hint of wariness in his eyes.

The Human Emperor had left a consciousness within the altar. After countless years, this consciousness had begun to develop its own thoughts. This thing was extremely useful. If the Human Emperor were to die in battle in the Boundary Sea, he could easily be resurrected by relying on the consciousness within the altar.

”Snap... Immortal power surged, turning into a barrier, completely sealing the possessed Old Emperor.”

After a few seconds, the bloodshot veins in the Old Emperor’s eyes gradually faded: ”Thank you, Fellow Daoist.”

”It is nothing. You had best not harbor designs on this thing; it is not something you can handle.” Ye Xiu reminded him.

The decaying fellow before him had likely been trying to fuse with the altar’s consciousness all along. Unfortunately, he had failed. As a result, he was countered by the consciousness and almost became a Puppet of the altar’s consciousness. However, this guy was quite decisive. To avoid being controlled, he had directly severed all ties between himself and this world.
