All People: I Slay Gods with Martial Arts

125: Chapter 124 Conferring the Title of Great Xia KingFollowing Ji Xingyue’s explanation,

Ye Xiu also learned about the importance of Luck.

The Luck that originally belonged to the dharma-ending age was being gradually devoured by the Imperial Court as Xing Mu established it.

If Great Xia could not be reformed and a Fengshan ceremony performed,

then the Luck belonging to this dharma-ending age would likely be entirely swallowed by the Imperial Court.

”General, regarding your strength, this humble girl has an idea.”

”What idea?”

Ye Xiu was slightly taken aback; he was still pondering the meaning of the Fengshan ceremony.

Great Xia’s rule of law for over two hundred years

had been quite successful.

If it were suddenly changed to the rule of men, although it wouldn’t cause any major chaos, it wasn’t the original intention of Great Xia’s founding.

Ji Xingyue saw through Ye Xiu’s thoughts.

After organizing her thoughts, she explained, ”Using all the Luck of the dharma-ending age, we can let the General condense an Immortal Body and reach the level of the Supreme Realm.”

”The idea is good, but devouring Luck is likely not that easy.”

”That is why we must perform the Fengshan ceremony.”

Ji Xingyue didn’t seem concerned about the sensitivity of the topic.

She spoke bluntly, ”If you do not wish to be an Emperor, you can re-establish Great Xia’s cabinet system and serve as the new leader. I believe Speaker Sikong will not object.”

Ye Xiu fell silent.

Although he wanted to use the power of Luck, he did not want to interfere in managing the affairs of Great Xia.

He didn’t have that much energy.

”The General need not worry too much. This humble girl will arrange for others to handle the rest. You only need to become a faith—the faith of Great Xia,” Ji Xingyue said very considerately.

”Then, thank you.”

”The General has helped me several times; this humble girl must do something for the General.”

High above the Endless Sea,

the two discussed the specific plan.

Only then did they return to the power center of Great Xia, Yanjing City.

Ye Xiu didn’t concern himself with any matters regarding the Fengshan ceremony, leaving everything to Ji Xingyue’s operation.

He only stayed in the city for a single day.

During this day,

aside from briefing Sikong Tianwen about the matter of Luck, there was nothing else.

As night fell,

Ye Xiu stepped into the heavens, crossing the brilliant river of stars.

He arrived at the surface of the sun within the Endless Fire Domain; this was the best place to comprehend the Dao of the Radiant Sun.

There was no other place like it.

...

...

Three years later.

Yanjing City.

Under Sikong Tianwen’s intentional guidance,

Ye Xiu’s deeds of suppressing the Ghost Realm and exterminating various Domains across the heavens were widely circulated.

The Noble Families and the Daoists, under Ji Xingyue’s influence, also promoted the rhetoric of a savior to boost Ye Xiu’s prestige.

From then on, the prestige of the Great Xia Martial God rose to an unimaginable height.

It reached the point where someone called out for the title of King of Great Xia.

Only then did the Cabinet open discussions for this meeting.

Inside the meeting room.

Due to the connection of the nine cities, the Great Xia Cabinet meetings were now held face-to-face.

Sikong Tianwen sat in the primary seat, looking at the councilors from the nine cities.

After a long silence,

he finally spoke, ”Currently, the Imperial Court has been established. Although it seems to have no impact on our Great Xia on the surface, as those from the dharma-ending age, it is time for us to consider some things.”

As his voice fell,

the councilor from Chaoge spoke up: ”The Imperial Court acts extremely overbearingly, and many Domains have already been exterminated. I suggest that establishing diplomatic relations with them is the Righteous Path. After all, as fellow members of the Human Race, the Imperial Court won’t go too far.”

”Heh... Begging for diplomacy is the diplomacy of a weak nation. My grand Great Xia has over a dozen Domains coming to pay tribute; how can we use the diplomacy of begging?”

The councilor from Luoyang was very upright.

After rebuking Chaoge, he continued, ”Regarding the recent matter of public sentiment, I personally feel there is no need for discussion. Since General Ye has made so many contributions to Great Xia, granting him the title of King of Great Xia loses us nothing.”

As soon as these words were spoken,

everyone present fell silent.

King of Great Xia!

This was no joke.

For the Great Xia Cabinet, such power was essentially finding a leader for themselves.

Although Ye Xiu’s achievements were indeed terrifying,

titling him the King of Great Xia was something that affected everyone’s interests.

Some were willing, while others were not.

After a long silence,

Ji Xingyue spoke up: ”I won’t waste words. Who agrees, and who objects?”

As she spoke, she was the first to pick up her ’agree’ ballot.

Everyone present was stunned.

The Ji Xingyue before them had changed too much. Unlike before, when she did anything with absolute rationality and would only vote after a detailed understanding,

in recent years,

it was as if she had become a different person.

While she was still incredibly cautious in her work, in some matters, she seemed more human.

She could be influenced by joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness.

The Speaker hadn’t even announced the start of the vote yet; how could she agree directly?

Sikong Tianwen watched this scene, laughing heartily in his heart.

”Alright, since everyone knows about this matter, this old man won’t dally. We will now hold the vote for General Ye Xiu’s title as King of Great Xia.”

Saying this, he gave a light cough and looked toward the three councilors from Luoyang, Tianfu, and Yanjing.

The three councilors understood immediately.

They instantly raised their ’agree’ ballots.

Seeing this, although the others were somewhat hesitant, the momentum was already established. If they blindly objected, they would not only offend the Speaker’s faction,

but also the Noble Families’ faction.

This was not something they could withstand.

One by one, the ’agree’ ballots were raised.

Sikong Tianwen looked around, nodded, and then announced, ”The proposal for the King of Great Xia has passed.”

After saying that,

he continued, ”Now we shall discuss the distribution of power. Say whatever you wish to say.”

As his voice fell,

Ji Xingyue directly stated her position: ”Since he is King, he should have absolute power. For instance, the power to audit the nine city councilors should be handed over to the King of Great Xia.”

The target of these words was very obvious.

Everyone present looked at Sikong Tianwen.

The audit power for the nine city councilors was originally in the Speaker’s hands.

Regarding this,

Sikong Tianwen didn’t care in the slightest. He had long wanted to hand over power to Ye Xiu, but unfortunately, Ye Xiu was simply too busy.

He was either in secluded cultivation or dealing with potential threats to Great Xia.

Now, hearing Ji Xingyue’s words,

the old man didn’t care much and directly stated his position: ”Since he is the King of Great Xia, he cannot just be a Puppet. Real power must be given. I agree to hand over the audit power belonging to the Speaker to the King of Great Xia.”

Everyone present was an old fox.

How could they not see that Sikong Tianwen and Ji Xingyue were working in tandem?

As one resolution after another passed,

the title of King of Great Xia was thoroughly settled.

Although he didn’t have the same treatment as an ancient emperor,

he held absolute power within Great Xia.
