The system takes me to fly

Chapter 107 Petition of Western Medicine

The atmosphere in the courtyard was stiff, and the head housekeeper and Xu Yi faced each other silently.

The chief steward was expressing his displeasure with Xu Yi’s move on behalf of his master and giving him a silent warning. However, this friendship of being a loyal servant and protecting the master only made Xu Yi feel inexplicable. We are already in modern society, and we are still doing the same things as in ancient times. Isn’t it hard to think?

After a long time, Xu Yi still looked at the golden flower on his own, and by looking at its appearance, one could tell what kind of thoughts he was thinking.
”Mr. Xu, aren’t you afraid of offending my master?”

The big butler asked with a frown, feeling that Xu Yi didn’t know what was good or bad, the master treated him with courtesy, er, but the other party behaved like this, but it was not reasonable for him to be a guest. When they met for the first time, they disrespected their master, and this time they made another move that caught everyone’s fancy.

Xu Yi sneered: ”What, the loyal housekeeper wants to seek justice for your master?”

”Do you need me to remind you? This flower pot was originally mine. Your master should be satisfied with ’borrowing’ it for a few days.”

　”you……”

Xu Yi’s reticence almost irritated the butler, but remembering that this person was a guest that the master had specially confessed to, he could only hold back his anger and leave.

”A domineering and arrogant person, do you really think you are a noble just because you are wearing a veneer of etiquette?”

With a sneer, Xu Yi commented on the owner of the Zhou residence in this way.

On the surface, it looks polite and polite, but in fact it is just hypocrisy, and the arrogance and unreasonableness in his heart can’t be concealed no matter what.

The big housekeeper who came to ”seek justice” left sullenly, while Xu Yi admired the golden flowers nonchalantly, but a small one could bloom with unusually beautiful colors, like a flower body made of soft gold, Xu Yi could not help but feel I watched it for a long time.

　……

”Nine golden flowers can be made into medicinal materials, which can be stored longer.” Mr. Zheng circled around the nine-thread golden grass. This little old man has seen many strange medicinal herbs, but like the golden silk grass Ordinary is rare.

”Although the medicinal effect will inevitably be weaker than that of flowers, it can be used at any time in the future, so it can be used as an emergency item.”

Knowing the efficacy of the medicine from Xu Yi, the way Yan Lao looked at Jinsicao was no different from seeing the magic medicine.

”Teacher, each of you picks one of the blooming flowers and concocts them for fun... Cough, I’m wrong, it’s for research, and what the old men do is very rigorous research.”

Xu Yi generously gave up the flowerpot, originally he wanted to say that it would be fine for the old men to play with the flowers, but the Chinese medicine team cast disapproving looks one after another, so he could only change his words dumbfounded.

The nine golden flowers were carefully plucked off by the old men, and the gentle and slow movements were afraid that one mistake would destroy the whole. It was difficult for Xu Yi to say that the petals of the flowers of the nine-line golden grass are very firm, even if they are whipped a few times with a stick, it will be fine.

The flowers of the golden silk grass were picked off, Xu Yi picked up one of its leaves, watched the golden thread that had disappeared after blooming slowly reappeared, and looked at it with interest for a long time.

”The leaves are the most poisonous, followed by the roots and stems. There are only records of flowers being used as medicine in my memory, and the efficacy of others has not been verified, so it will be difficult to deal with it all at once.”

Xu Yi originally just wanted to take revenge on the third elder, but he was not sure whether the Golden Silk Grass could be used, and now he was in a little bit of a dilemma, fearing that the poison would be too poisonous to control, thinking whether to destroy the Golden Silk Grass Lose.

　”Doctor Xu...”

The weak voice was because he was afraid of disturbing Xu Yi, but also because the owner of the body lacked energy and was naturally feeling weak and short of breath.

”It’s you guys, are you feeling better?” Xu Yi turned around and saw the person coming, and asked with a faint smile on the corner of his mouth.

”We... want to thank Dr. Xu...”

　”that……”

The three of them moved from the western medicine group to this place, and it took a lot of effort. Seeing Xu Yi now, they felt a little embarrassed to reveal their purpose.

”Let’s just say it straight. I’m not a savage beast. Can I still eat you?” Seeing the hesitant expression on the other party’s face, Xu Yi raised his eyebrows and asked them to state their request directly.Anyway, he can choose not to agree to something that is too difficult. Simple things are just a matter of effort.

”We... want to test this herb for Mr. Xu.”

The three of them finally summoned up their courage, and the leader spoke.

”Well, you need to know that this untested medicinal herb can poison people to death.” Frowning unhappy, Xu Yi didn’t want these three people to be poisoned to death.

”What’s more, you still have a month or two to wait for the special medicine.”

”Doctor Xu, there is no hope for a special medicine.”

The leading western doctor said with a sad face: ”If it is the mixed virus in the early stage, maybe it can be saved, but now... how much original virus is mixed with this mixed virus, no one can tell.”

”Nowadays, a dead horse can only be treated as a living horse doctor, so I ask Dr. Xu to promise us...”

”Please, Doctor Xu, just promise us.”

The feeling of waiting to die day after day is too uncomfortable, they want to try it and let themselves live.Even if I die, I want to leave with dignity, no longer living the last journey of life

　”Oh, all right.”

Sighing helplessly, since it had reached this level, it seemed unkind to refuse to agree. Xu Yi agreed to the requests of the three people opposite him and decided to use the untested Golden Silk Grass on them.

”Everyone chooses a part. The leaves are the most toxic. If you are not careful, you will be poisoned and die. The stem is at the back, and the roots are at the end. This is the ranking of toxicity. You can discuss how to choose.”

After introducing the details, Xu Yi stopped talking, closed his eyes and rested his mind, anticipating countless plans.

Not long after, the leading western doctor came to tell Xu Yi the result of their discussion.

　”I choose the leaves.”

The leader, named Meng Jiakang, is now in his mid-thirties. He was originally a famous young doctor with unlimited fame, but now he has entered the stage of waiting for death. He didn’t want to die like this, and thought about giving it a try. Life or death would depend on the outcome, and whether God would let him live.

　”I choose the stem.”

　”I choose the root.”

The other two people also confirmed their choices.

　……

　”Xu Yi, are you sure?”

When Mr. Yan heard about this, he never relaxed his brows. This kind of treatment whose process is uncertain and experimental results are also uncertain made the old man’s heart ache.Just for the sake of concocting a strange flower, the stupid apprentice was coaxed into taking the position, which made the old man couldn’t help but complain about the three Western doctors.

If the experiment fails, the apprentice will bear three lives in the future! What about the rest of my medical career? If the stupid apprentice had a weaker heart, wouldn’t his future be ruined? !
”Teacher, I think I’m quite sure, so don’t worry...”

Xu Yi thought that if a dangerous situation appeared in the experiment, he would probably be able to make people survive it by using life-sustaining techniques and new acupuncture techniques. At most, their bodies would become worse.According to Xu Yi’s other estimates, the poison of the golden silk grass should be blood poison, and if it is applied to the skin, the toxicity will probably be weaker.

”Confused!” He looked at the foolish boy with hatred.

Elder Yan felt that his apprentices looked stupid no matter how they looked at him. He used to think that Xu Yi was a smart person, but now... he was so worried that he wanted to grab his ear and shout—quickly give up, silly boy!

Being cared about by her master, Xu Yi felt warm in her heart and looked at the old man with a smile and persuaded: ”Why don’t you, teacher, watch by my side and check it for me?”

”You child, you still want to drag the old man into the water.” He raised his arm as if to knock Xu Yi on the head.

Obediently bowing his head, Xu Yi pretended to be obedient and comforted the worried old man. His heart became warmer and warmer, as if he were soaking in warm water.

Then, the dry-mouthed old Yan still failed to convince Xu Yi, and was tricked into being an assistant and supervisor instead.

Meng Jiakang led the two Western doctors behind him to clean the entire arm, and watched Xu Yi nervously as he worked.

Xu Yi first took off the roots, stems, and leaves of the nine-thread golden grass, respectively, the length of a finger, and then put them into three medicine mortars to grind them into green grass juice. In each mortar, the medicinal materials in the basic formula such as Dongshenghua, Chunkucao, Guizhengum, etc. are gradually added. Because of the addition of fresh herbs, the final product is a slightly moist medicinal powder.

Putting on rubber gloves on both hands, Xu Yi said to Meng Jiakang before applying the medicine: ”Whether the medicine powder will work or not, no one knows. After you apply the medicine powder, your arms will have a strong burning sensation.” Burning pain, and the reaction to this drug will continue into the early hours of tomorrow.”

”Because you chose the blade, the level of pain will be higher. During this period, if you feel that you can’t bear the pain, you can choose to give up and continue the treatment.”

Meng Jiakang pursed his lips: ”I want to live.”

”Very well, I hope you can always maintain this determination.”

Xu Yi nodded with satisfaction, admiring the other person’s desire to survive.

With gloved fingers, he scooped up a small pile of medicinal powder, carefully applied it all over Meng Jiakang’s entire arm, and then wrapped the arm with breathable gauze layer after layer.

　”Well!”

The burning pain was as if the whole arm was being put into the fire. Meng Jiakang clenched his teeth, and large drops of cold sweat fell from his forehead, and his face was distorted in pain.

Looking at Meng Jiakang who endured the pain and never cried out, Xu Yi felt that the other party should be able to survive this crisis in his life, so he turned his head to let the other two get ready as well.

After changing gloves twice and applying powder to all three people, Xu Yi sat aside and watched their reactions.Perhaps the threat of death was too great, but Xu Yi was surprised that even the weakest Western doctor could endure the pain without letting out a loud howl.

Unexpectedly, they were all tough men.In this way, Xu Yi hoped that they could get through this test smoothly and survive well.

After all, as a famous doctor, regardless of his character, his medical skills are not too bad. If he survives, he can treat thousands of patients.
