Lord of the Truth

Chapter 2337 Identity Card

Mid Sector 100—

”....” Jabba focused intently on the Treant Bark sheet spread across the entire length of the table, his unwavering gaze fixed upon it as though every inch of its surface concealed answers he had yet to uncover.

No one knew how many hours—or even weeks—had passed while he remained in exactly the same position, studying that sheet without interruption. The pace of his breathing and the sluggish circulation of blood through his body indicated that he was deliberately keeping himself in a near-dormant state so he wouldnʼt need food or water, minimizing every unnecessary bodily function in order to preserve as much of his attention and stamina as possible for the task before him...

He held an ordinary ballpoint pen in one hand while supporting his forehead with the palm of the other, occasionally tightening his grip around the pen without ever putting it down. His eyes were opened as wide as they could be, refusing to blink more than absolutely necessary.

His muscle mass had returned to a reasonable level for a human after ascending to the Emperor Realm once again through Body Cultivation. He sat there with a well-built physique, yet without a single tattoo on his body. His hair remained braided into thick plaits, while both sides of his head were still cleanly shaved, giving him the same familiar appearance that had accompanied him for years.

If Robin were to walk in now, he would think he was looking at the very same scene he had witnessed inside Jabbaʼs tent in Greenland after defeating the Warlords. There was only one difference...

Jabbaʼs eyes no longer radiated that other color—not even in the slightest—as he stared at the sheet, no matter how long he continued observing it or how deeply he concentrated.

And there was another difference...

Instead of bizarre patterns and intertwined runes covering the sheet in incomprehensible formations, it was filled with... numbers and letters, countless symbols arranged in an orderly yet bewildering manner.

”Tsk...” Jabba finally moved slightly, letting out an irritated sigh before slowly standing up and making his way toward the side of the room, where an extraordinarily wide table was filled with an overwhelming number of blood samples stored in jars of different sizes and shapes, neatly arranged in long rows.

Jabba walked all the way to the far left, picked up a random jar without showing the slightest preference, opened it, and stared silently inside.

Then—

Jabbaʼs eyes were no longer motionless.

Click.

They emitted no light whatsoever, yet they were no longer still.

Jabbaʼs circular irises began spinning rapidly for several seconds as he stared at the blood. Anyone observing his eyes, which had taken on the appearance of swirling vortexes at that moment, would discover that countless numbers and letters had begun emerging within those spirals, constantly appearing and disappearing as though being calculated in real time.

But Jabba...

Was seeing something entirely different.

Above the jar floated what resembled a small window, something akin to a written record composed of strange letters and numbers that even Jabba himself hadnʼt understood until years had passed and his understanding had gradually deepened. Every character glowed with the very same color as the blood beneath it, as though the information itself had been extracted directly from the sample.

The slightly exhausted Jabba began reading:

Category: Living Being

Primary Identity: Beast

Existential Age: 157,000 Years

Affinity: Wind, Poison

Essential Traits: Flight, Coiling, Venom Injection

Secondary Traits: Thermal Vision, Rapid Regeneration

Mutations: Gigantic Wings, Abundant Venom Glands

Identity Stability: 49%

Potential Identity: Savage Flying Serpent

”Huh?” Jabba raised the jar slightly in surprise, his brows immediately drawing together. ”Identity Stability is forty-nine percent? How?!”

He began staring at the blood even more intensely, causing additional letters and numbers to appear one after another while the exhaustion on his face continued to deepen, as though every extra piece of information demanded a corresponding price from his mind.

Beneath every major heading within that record lay an enormous number of mathematical equations—equations Jabba had gradually become accustomed to over the years after spending an unimaginable amount of time deciphering them, despite never having been taught their underlying principles by anyone.

Among all of them, Jabba focused on the Identity Stability section, carefully examining every minute detail, every variable, and every calculation in an attempt to determine the exact reason why the percentage had reached only forty-nine percent instead of a far higher value.

In cases like this, Identity Stability generally represented how closely a being or substance remained to its original identity, measuring the extent to which its existence had preserved its fundamental nature without drifting away from the source that had originally defined it.

For example, humans were the purest intelligent race Jabba had examined so far. Among the people he had inspected, their Identity Stability generally ranged between ninety-one and ninety-four percent, with only minor differences from one individual to another. As for other mutated or transformed races, the value usually fell somewhere between seventy and eighty-five percent, depending on the extent of their mutations, the complexity of their evolution, and how far they had diverged from the human race over countless generations.

Even among beasts, the more a creature was mixed with multiple races or bloodlines, the lower its Identity Stability became, as though every additional lineage diluted the integrity of its original existence. Yet he had never before encountered an Identity Stability below fifty percent, no matter how unusual the specimen had been... So what did it mean when instability had actually surpassed stability?

Could it be that the part defining it as a serpent and the part granting it wings were, in a sense, trying to separate from one another, each attempting to establish itself as an independent identity rather than remaining part of the same lifeform?!

”Argh!” Jabba continued pushing himself, forcing his eyes to remain focused on the information before him until he could no longer even hold the jar in his hand.

Bang!

He dropped it in complete shock before staggering back toward the table where the Treant Bark sheet lay spread open, his steps becoming noticeably unsteady from the strain placed upon both his body and mind.

”Hoo~” Jabba repeatedly rubbed his forehead to improve the flow of blood through his head, trying to dispel the growing dizziness, then grabbed a Pearl of Energy with his left hand while holding the pen in his right and immediately began writing without allowing himself even a brief moment to rest...

More numbers and letters rapidly covered the sheet, while increasingly complex equations—resembling advanced algebraic expressions—overlapped one another, filling every available space with layer upon layer of calculations until the once-empty surface became almost completely occupied.

”....” Jabba pulled his hand back for a brief moment, his brows tightly furrowed, before glancing upward toward several blank areas that had yet to be filled, then back at everything he had just written, silently comparing every calculation in his mind.

He slowly extended his hand upward again and began adding several equations that had previously been missing, carefully placing each one exactly where it belonged as though every symbol depended upon the position of the last.

”....”

Jabba slowly withdrew his hand, his face completely devoid of expression as his eyes quietly swept across the finished calculations one final time.

The equations on the sheet were now finally complete, yet he showed no trace of satisfaction.

Instead, he immediately began reading everything again from the very beginning... once, then three times, then five, carefully verifying every equation, every number, and every relationship between them to ensure that nothing had escaped his attention.

Only then did his expression gradually change into one of overwhelming shock.

He had torn apart more than fifteen sheets just like this during the current week alone, believing every one of them to be fundamentally flawed before reaching this point!!

Without hesitation, Jabba bent over the sheet once more and reread everything for the sixth time before suddenly shouting,

”Good heavens!!”

As he clutched his head as though it were about to abandon him and run away on its own, completely unable to process the implications of the conclusion he had just reached!!

Then, without wasting another second, he rolled up the sheet, stored it inside his ring, and rushed straight through the door, moving so quickly that he almost forgot the exhaustion weighing down his body.

Silence—

The moment Jabba stepped outside, he found himself standing before an enormous hall occupied by more than ninety people. Each of them was carrying a stack of documents, or standing together with several others in what appeared to be productive discussions, with conversations taking place throughout the entire hall while researchers continuously walked from one group to another exchanging reports and ideas.

”....” Jabba immediately forced an awkward, hesitant smile onto his face, instinctively feeling as though every pair of eyes was looking at him with annoyance and contempt simply because he had emerged from the room that almost nobody had ever seen opened.

These people were part of the researchers of Sky Opening City in Mid Sector 100. Among them were also a number of Truth Chosen. Technically speaking, every one of them worked under his supervision, yet this was the first time he had ever seen most of them in person, since he had almost never left his research room after assuming his current position.

”.....”

”.....”

Chatter. Chatter.

After only a few seconds of surprise caused by the opening of a door that was practically never opened, everyone returned to their conversations, those passing by resumed walking, and the loudmouth resumed shouting as though nothing unusual had happened.

”Phew~” Jabba let out a breath of relief, the tension in his shoulders easing ever so slightly. ”Looks like they donʼt know me any better than I know them... Good.”

He then resumed walking forward at a hurried pace, eager to reach his destination before anyone decided to stop him.

”Haha! Looooord Jabba, the Master of Sky Opening City, finally decided to come out?!”

”...?”

”.......?!!”
