Hero of Darkness

Chapter 1184: The One and Only

Despite their reunion for the first time since Kahn entered Vantrea, the expected cordial meeting between both the God of Darkness and the Hero of Darkness suddenly turned sour and that of confrontation.

It was mainly because the original timeline’s Kahn, aka the Martial Emperor, was supposed to take over the new Kahn’s body and lead the upcoming crusade against the Demon God with his knowledge of future events; something that was agreed upon between him and the God of Darkness.

Instead, the original Kahn decided to let the current timeline’s to stay in control and willingly passed away from the world. Hence, the God of Darkness was already both disappointed and angry.

Yet, the casual behavior the new Kahn displayed while conversing added more salt to the wound instead. And it greatly displeased the God of Death possessed the power to even kill the other Gods and Goddesses.

At this moment, the insurmountable deathly aura emitted by the god had killed Kahn too many times, yet his soul was brought back to life at the same time, enacting the god’s fury.

”You’re not my equal, not my subordinate, not my ally or even my underling.

You are but my servant, BOY!” bellowed the God of Darkness in rage.

”An absolutely useless retard from an insignificant world whose life was shaped by my will before he even realised.

If not for my powers and our plans... You wouldn’t have even survived the Conclave of Heroes.” reminded the God of Darkness.

This was, as a matter of fact... a fact!

Although it was the original Kahn and the Elder Dragon Baaltaraaz who returned to the past... it wouldn’t have happened without God of Darkness’ help and powers at all.

The new divine abilities, his survival during the Conclave of Heroes at the hands of an enemy who came from the future, were evidently because of the God of Darkness’ involvement.

Even Kahn could not refute or disregard this truth about his new life.

”You seem to have grown more complacent and conceited during these years, it seems.

Or perhaps you want me to summon another soul from somewhere else and put him in your body?” iterated the god of death with a malicious voice.

”This is not the World Boundary... This is the Eternal Abyss.

This is my absolute domain that even other Gods can’t enter without my permission.” he iterated in an authoritative tone.

”So give me a reason...” said God of Darkness.

He made an angry but very effective threat....

”Why should I let ’you’ return to the real world?”

******************

A minute of utter silence passed; even the torture of the Elder Dragon and the Godbeast Baihu, along with millions of others in the back, momentarily stopped.

With a snarky remark, the God of Darkness again...

”Why? Do you have no answer now that you’ve realized what your position in our agreement is?”

However, instead of responding meekly, Kahn’s expression turned cold. Yet, he responded in a calm and collected voice.

”Sure, you and the original me may have paved the way with your mumbo-jumbo time-travel and regressor bullshit.” he stated brazenly.

”But do you think it was all rainbows and sunshine for me till now?

I could have simply chosen to give up! I could’ve stopped walking on this so-called ’easy’ road that you bastards created for me.

It was ’I’ who walked on that road! It was ’I’ who sweated and bled through all those trainings, those battles, and situations where I faced imminent threat to my life.

Do you think anyone else would want to suffer the immeasurable pain and torture that ’I’ went through just to get strong?” he asked firmly.

”You think anyone else possesses my mind, my will, and my nature?” confronted Kahn with facts.

”You don’t know what I have been through, you don’t know what I have done, and you have no idea what I am capable of.” he iterated with a resolute and kingly voice.

”If you think any wannabe can be like me... then you don’t know me son.”

******************

The confrontation between Kahn and the God of Darkness had reached its peak, beyond repair at this point. It escalated to the point that God of Darkness was moments away from erasing Kahn’s entire existence.

But the very next moment...

BOOM!!!

A massive aura erupted that broke through God of Darkness’ unfathomable pressure.

Kahn’s soul had taken his true Cosmic Form, his blue body radiating an otherworldly aura as tattoos and inscriptions appeared over his legs and arms, turning them pitch-black.

This was the current true form of Kahn Salvatore. A being that transcended the laws of reality and couldn’t be considered human in any aspect.

The truth was that his soul wasn’t that of just a normal mortal anymore, but now it was also infused with the Cosmic Aether, the literal essence of the Multiverse... which allowed Kahn to break free from the subjugation.

Swoon!

Kahn’s entire body started growing.

Hundred meters, then a kilometer in height.

Soon a thousand kilometers, then ten thousand kilometers!

In front of God of Darkness, the absolute ruler of death, Kahn had broken free from his constraints... in his own domain.

Finally, Kahn’s body turned dark blue, towering over a hundred thousand kilometers tall in height. Even the previous beings that he saw before were now smaller than ants to him.

Now, Kahn was at least on the same level as the God of Darkness sitting on his throne.

”Do you see the irony of this situation?” asked Kahn.

God of Darkness slightly tilted his head, looking at Kahn’s defiant countenance with both ire and amusement.

”I am the Hero of Darkness, yet I’m being admonished by the very god that chose me in the first place. Asking me to prove my worth.

And now, I’m breaking from your authority of this realm using a power that I gained from the divine ability created by another God.” stated Kahn in a stern voice, not backing down from his rebellious stance.

”But do you know why I regret this moment now?” he asked coldly.

”Because I was given a choice that could have changed my life and freed me from your agreement.” he revealed.

”What choice?” asked God of Darkness, agitated but curious.

”When I achieved the 4th Enlightenment in the Space Law... I met Raum, the God of Space.” declared Kahn.

”What?!”

God of Darkness was shocked.

”He offered me a choice... to ditch you and join his side instead.” revealed Kahn.

”Raum! That bastard!!! He dares?!!” shouted God of Darkness in fury.

His wrathful killing intent surged 10 times than before.

[[Author: Planned so freaking long ago for this exact moment when they meet again. With the whole Dimensional Law divine ability, Space Law Achievements, Linchpin of Multiverse, and God of Space meeting Kahn.

Do you know how hard it is to keep everything perfectly tied together with the old and the future plots that I planned years ago?]]

Kahn, in return, smirked and spoke.

”And honestly, I feel like I should have. Because you, on the other hand, have kept too many secrets from me.

You haven’t truly helped me in any way. Even Kravel’s blessings have turned far more useful to me over the years than anything you offered me yourself.

Forget receiving any help, even the Divine Abilities that you guys made me choose... not a single one of them came directly from you.

As for the System itself... the main architect was the original me, you simply put the instructed information in it.” elaborated Kahn with a snarky gaze.

”So sure, go ahead. Replace my soul with someone else and send them into the real world.

What difference does it make if the entirety of existence is bound to be annihilated anyway?” stated Kahn.

At this point, he was revealing so many irrefutable facts one after another.

”You gods and deities can play house amongst yourselves. At least I won’t have to witness your bickering anymore.” said Kahn.

”Hell, you can even summon other Kahns who entered different worlds or lived even more competent lives than I have.

Then ask them if they can achieve the same accomplishments in the same scenario,” he said with a dignified tone.

”Ask them if they can gain the recognition of Deities of Blacksmithing and forge an Ancient Rank weapon?

Ask them if they can achieve the 4th Enlightenment in the Space Law in such a grand fashion that even the God of Space himself has to show up?

Ask them if they can run successful businesses, underworld organizations, or a mercenary guild in different empires?

Ask them if they can unite a whole empire under their name and become the beacon of hope for billions of people at the same time?

Ask them if they can go toe to toe with other Heroes even without using any of the divine abilities or the divine weapon like I did?

Ask them!... If they can endure all these hardships, responsibilities, and yet succeed every single time like I have?!” stated Kahn, reminding the God of Darkness of his real accomplishments that even other Heroes in the present era would pale in front of.

Kahn then stood in a firm stance and spoke in an indomitable tone...

”You asked why you should let me return to the real world since I don’t have any use like the original Kahn?”

”That’s your answer.” he stated as his silver hair and shining white eyes glowed even brighter.

”There are a million others just like me.

Who cuss like me, who just don’t give a fuck like me.

Who dress like me, walk, talk and act like me.

And just might be the next best thing, but not quite me.” iterated Kahn quickly.

And the very next moment, he revealed the one fact even the God of Darkness couldn’t deny...

”Because ’I’ am the only me!”
