Demonic Po*nstar System

Chapter 756: Fangirls United

”No... We’re still here,” Sarah sighed.

Kira chuckled. ”Calypso might honestly be game for that. She’s surprisingly easy to get along with, especially for being an infernal demonic monster who should be tearing humans apart on sight.”

”See?” Leia spread her hands. ”Dreams do come true. When I see her, I’ll get on all fours and beg for an hour straight.”

”...I’ll tell Kaiden,” Emilia threatened with narrowed eyes.

”He can come too, of course! There’s enough sexy demonic thighs for the both of us. And if he doesn’t want to share, I’ll be happy even to rest my head in the sand...”

”Sorry, Leia is really messed up,” Sarah apologized.

”Hey. I can hear you.”

”...We’ve been part of the fandom for a bit now, she’s not that bad~” Kira and Rika giggled together.

The twins let the laughter settle, then tilted their heads in scary perfect sync.

”Okay. Fun stuff aside for a second. Can we talk work?”

”...Please,” Sarah said after getting over how creepy twins moving together could look.

”So here’s the thing,” Kira started. ”You three already know the numbers. Kai’s streams have been averaging over a million live viewers in recent days, peaking at five million. Those are insane numbers for any content creator on the planet.”

”And they’re about to go up,” Rika added.

Emilia blinked. ”Is there even an up from here?”

The twins looked at each other. Then back at the camera.

”Miss Internet Wifey,” Kira said gently. ”This is the Awakened Media Platform. Magical translation. No language barriers. No regional locks. The potential viewership isn’t millions.”

”It’s billions.” Rika let that land. ”Technically, every person on the planet.”

The call went still.

”We’ve talked about it a lot overnight,” Kira went on, and the playfulness in her voice was gone. ”We got hired around midnight and had been going over their internal analytics since. We arrived at a decision.”

She leaned forward. Rika leaned forward at the exact same angle.

”Our goal is to have Kaiden reach one billion simultaneous live viewers.”

A different silence from the Leia fantasy. That one was bewildered. This one was still.

”One billion,” Sarah repeated.

”One billion.” Kira nodded. ”An actual operational target. Not a vision board number meant to wow witless investors. This is the number we intend to hit.”

”Nobody in history has done that,” Leia said. The goofiness was gone. ”No one’s even gotten anywhere close.”

”Nobody in history has been the group of eccentric anomalies that we, the five of us, are working for,” Rika responded.

Another pause. Shorter this time.

”While it’s lovely to get to know you three, our colleagues... We didn’t call just to say hi.” Kira’s grin was gone now. ”We called because getting to our goal requires a machine, and you three are already part of it.”

”Part of it how?” Emilia asked. Her back had straightened against the cushion. She wasn’t curled up anymore.

”The human mind is fickle.” Rika leaned back, arms crossed loosely. ”Fandoms even more so. A single well-placed comment can start a hype train or a hate mob. The difference between the two is often just who speaks first and how they frame it.”

”You three know this already. You’ve been doing it.” Kira ticked a finger toward the camera. ”Emilia, when Kai’s team began their ’magnanimous help’ in the basin, your comment reframed the whole thing. ’They chose this.’ Three words. Suddenly the narrative wasn’t ’Kaiden turned into a bloodthirsty man who lost his wits,’ it was ’wronged man does what is reasonable.’ The spam train started from your comment.”

Emilia’s cheeks went pink, but she didn’t look away.

”Leia.” Rika grinned. ”You’re a different beast entirely. Your analytical breakdowns turn casual viewers into soldiers. Girls who were sitting on their couches half-watching a stream while rubbing their bellies suddenly grab their pitchforks and ride into the comment section ready to die for the cause because you wrote three paragraphs calling for war.”

”Hehehe.” Leia had nothing to offer besides smug snickers while examining her nails with a silly grin sitting on her face.

”And Sarah.” Kira’s voice warmed. ”Head mod. There since stream one. Your word carries weight that no one else could earn, because that train had already departed months ago. No one can replace being the first follower who became head mod. When you speak in chat, people listen. You think you’re just a humble moderator, but to us, you’re more like an institution.”

Sarah opened her mouth, closed it, and reached for her Nutella jar instead.

”There’s a reason Kai made you three official.” Rika held up a hand before anyone could deflect. ”He’s a benevolent man who wanted to reward loyalty, yeah. But he’s also a deceptively smart man. He recognized what you are. You’re no mere chat moderators. You’re part of the Sinners.”

A beat. The three mods sat with that.

”So.” Kira clapped her hands softly. ”Coordination. Now, we all know how the gang operates.”

She and Rika exchanged a look and giggled.

”When it comes to them, schedules are... suggestions,” Rika offered diplomatically.

Kira snorted. ”We’re not handing you a color-coded content calendar with fifteen-minute blocks.”

”What we can do is keep you in the loop,” Rika picked up. ”What the team’s targets are, what they’re feeling, what kind of content is likely coming, what mood they’re in. General direction, not a script.”

”Same goes the other direction.” Kira mirrored her twin’s posture. ”You feed back to us what the community is feeling. What they want to see more of, what they’re getting bored of, what’s exciting them. That intelligence shapes what we push.”

”One thing, though.” Kira’s tone shifted just slightly. ”This kind of access means you’ll know things before the public does, also stuff like internal targets, team dynamics, strategy. We’ll need to update your contracts with a non-disclosure clause.”

”Done,” Leia said instantly.

”Obviously,” Emilia added.

”Was that even a question?” Sarah asked.

Kira and Rika smiled at each other.

”We figured.” Rika winked. ”But we had to ask officially.”

The seriousness held for another moment before Kira let it soften. She leaned back, and a familiar grin crept across her face.

”One more thing. Since getting hired, we’ve had access to the insider analytics. Viewer retention, engagement patterns, subscriber conversion, all of it.” She glanced at Rika, who grinned at the camera. ”We’ve seen the data on what your interventions actually do to the numbers. Your impact is... honestly kind of ridiculous.”

”You three are not getting nearly enough credit.” Rika shook her head. ”As far as we’re concerned, if Kai and the girls are the superstars on stage, you three are the superstars behind the curtain. The best in the business at what you do, and we mean that.”

Emilia smiled. Small, close-lipped, the kind she wore when the capitalist in her was quietly satisfied.

Leia leaned back on her bed, arms behind her head, grinning at the ceiling.

Sarah took a slow spoonful of Nutella and aimed it at the camera.

”I think,” she said, ”we’re going to make one hell of a team, us five.”

Five fangirls. Five women who’d somehow landed the jobs they would’ve killed for. All of them fired up and on the same page, united by a number so absurd it could only be chased by people crazy enough to believe it was possible.

One billion.

They had work to do.
