Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 659: Chapter 285: The Witch of the Water Spirits

In the depths of the shadowy forest.

Four Black Mages sat around the altar, fanatic glows flickering on their faces.

Their figures twisted and bizarre in the dim candlelight, the air filled with a blend of dark magic and ancient spells.

Tonight, they were no longer simply searching for a soul but had set their sights on that mysterious island in the distance.

”We need to sacrifice the entire island!”

The gaunt wizard said in a hoarse yet firm voice, eyes ablaze.

He pointed to the yellowed old map, marked with the island’s location, surrounded by complex runes drawn in blood.

”Only through the sacrifice of this land can we summon the demon sleeping in the abyss.”

Another burly wizard with a full beard sneered coldly, ”But the island is surrounded by Water Spirits and Protectors, we need bait to lure them away.”

”I have a way,” the Long-haired Mage smiled slightly, pulling out a gem glimmering with green light from his bosom.

”This crystal can confuse any Water Spirit; once it’s cast into the lake, they’ll surely be drawn away.”

”Good idea!” the gaunt wizard nodded excitedly, ”When they are all gathered, we can cast the spell to plunge the entire island into darkness.”

The elderly wizard, who had been quietly listening, slowly stood up, looking up at the night sky,

”Sacrificing the entire island means countless souls will be consumed. We must be prepared to welcome the chaos and frenzy after the demon’s arrival. But if successful, it will greatly enhance our power!”

The four Black Mages exchanged glances, the evil thoughts in their hearts swelling ever larger.

Beneath that shadow, they could no longer suppress their inner longing for power and destruction.

As the preparations for the ritual proceeded, the island also seemed to perceive the looming unrest, a deep and ominous sound of waves echoed from afar.

”Tonight, let this land be our key,” the gaunt wizard said through gritted teeth.

As night fell deeper, the four Black Mages decided to launch their plan, summoning the entire organization.

They gathered beside the ancient altar, surrounded by the hidden and dark woods.

The air was filled with a tense and excited atmosphere; everyone knew tonight would decide their fate.

”All units move out!” the gaunt wizard commanded loudly, his voice echoing in the silent forest.

At his command, mages clad in black robes emerged from the shadows, holding magic staffs, spells, and various magical tools, each displaying fanaticism.

”Prepare, set off!”

The Long-haired Mage directed the organization’s magical apprentices, who began drawing complex and mysterious runes on the ground.

As the runes were gradually completed, everyone’s figures became hidden.

Members eagerly anticipated stepping onto that mysterious island, their hearts burning with desire for power and conquest.

”Set off!” the burly wizard roared, stepping onto the island.

A cold wind hit their faces, meanwhile, they felt a strong sense of unease and resistance.

Moonlight fell on the island, gently rippling like silver water waves.

However, beneath this calm lay countless Protectors.

Water Spirits, Ancient Guardians, and other powerful creatures, they were alertly watching everything.

”Split into groups! Find the Water Spirits and draw them away,” the Long-haired Mage swiftly commanded.

They divided into several groups; some were in charge of casting the Confusion Spell, while others prepared for battle against any island Guardians that might appear.

However, just as they began to lay out their strategy, the island’s calm was broken.

A streak of light flashed by, and a young, powerful witch emerged from the woods, draped in a teal cloak, holding a scepter that emitted a warm glow.

”You cannot harm this island!” she said firmly, ”Here is where our strength and faith lie; you will not succeed!”

The Black Mages exchanged glances, disdainful.

”Ridiculous! Do you think you can stop us?”

The gaunt wizard sneered, ”Tonight, we will sacrifice this island, and you are powerless!”

The witch slightly closed her eyes, feeling the continuous gathering of the power of nature around her.

Behind her, the water flow of the island began to surge, a blue halo gradually emerged—this was the power of nature instinctively reacting to the invasion of dark forces.

As the witch loudly chanted the song of nature, the island was instantly swept up in a raging storm, meanwhile, the evil magic within the black robes also unfolded, various spells interlaced vigorously in the air.

As the battle broke out, the Black Mages engaged in fierce confrontation with the island’s Guardians.

The air was filled with the scent of magic, spells and sorcery interweaving in the night sky, as if shrouding the entire island in an exotic glow.

The Black Mages mercilessly unleashed their powerful dark magic, the gaunt wizard first swung the magic staff, a black lightning streaked across the night sky, striking a Water Spirit directly.

With nowhere to escape, the Water Spirit let out a wail and immediately turned into ash.

The surrounding island Guardians witnessed their comrade’s tragic death, anger and fear tangled together, they desperately fought back, using the water flow and the power of nature to resist the invaders.

But despite the witch leading the resistance, the island’s Protectors were few, while the Wizard Organization surged like tides.

Spell after spell was unleashed, turning the beautiful island into wreckage.

Huge stones were overturned, trees fell with a crash, innocent creatures were slaughtered in the chaos, everything became exceedingly tragic.
