Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 839: Spades! A flush, who wins and who loses?

While Joyce was still hesitating, the young man beside him suddenly let out a laugh, then tapped on the gambling table.

Everyone looked over, including Joyce.

The young man at the gambling table simply leaned back lazily in his chair, then looked at Joyce with a provocative expression, asking in a playful tone, ”Whatʼs the matter? Sir over there, you were the one who started this game. Iʼve gone all-in; arenʼt you going to follow?”

Since youʼve already entered the game, what are you still struggling with?

If you were going to hesitate, you should have just honestly folded at the beginning like the others.

What is the point of putting on this act now?

With Xiao Heʼs words, the atmosphere at the previously relaxed gambling table changed abruptly.

It seemed that in that instant, what was originally an entertaining game turned into a true life-or-death duel.

Even the surrounding environment became more chilling.

Meeting the young manʼs face, which was half-playful and half-malicious, Joyce took a deep breath. For some reason, a chill welled up within him.

Joyce was already beginning to regret it.

He shouldnʼt have intentionally provoked Xiao He after realizing his true goal.

As an excellent investor and an opportunist who knew exactly when to act, Joyce shouldnʼt have made such a mistake, but he was also a gambling addict.

Therefore, having understood the implication behind Xiao Heʼs words, Joyce had no choice but to continue and call the bet.

Except this time, he also went all-in.

”Wow, youʼre going all-in too?”

Bao Wenqi exclaimed and looked at Dong Huai, while Dong Huai hesitated for a moment, not making a decision immediately.

Instead, He Ziyeʼs gaze shifted back and forth between the two, then he said with a smile, ”Werenʼt you two very calm just a moment ago? Why have you both suddenly lost your heads? If you go all-in like this, what will you do in a little while?”

Between the two of them, there would definitely be a loser who would go ”bankrupt” on the spot.

Wasting millions in chips in one go was a significant amount; even in their high-end casino, it wasnʼt something to be squandered so casually. After all, rich people werenʼt stupid; they didnʼt have endless money to burn.

He Ziyeʼs words were actually a friendly reminder for the two to calm down.

Especially for Joyce, who had just called the bet.

However, Joyce just smiled, tapped the two face-down hole cards in front of him, and said with a smile, ”I feel like my luck is definitely good this time.”

After thinking it over carefully, Joyce still felt he had a chance.

The cards in his hand were excellent, and he had a complete chance to fight for the pot. As long as a flush could be formed later, his hand would either be a flush or a straight flush, which would be enough to secure the win this time.

Therefore, in Joyceʼs view, his current odds of winning were still quite high.

As for He Ziyeʼs reminder, he had indeed taken it to heart, but he still wanted to gamble against Xiao He.

Ever since he started playing Texas Holdʼem, he believed he had honed a high level of skill in reading people.

But Xiao He made him unable to see through him.

”Very good. It seems Mr. Joyce is also a fascinating person who enjoys challenging thrills.”

Xiao He smiled with satisfaction, then looked at Dong Huai over there, ”So, Young Master Dong, do you plan to call?”

Dong Huai, who was still observing, fell silent. Instead, Bao Wenqi decisively expressed his stance to fold one step ahead of him, ”I wonʼt call.”

It would naturally be better to let Xiao He face that foreigner. This way, regardless of the outcome, he wouldnʼt offend either party, and he could also test Xiao Heʼs financial capability to see if it matched the results they had investigated previously.

”Then I wonʼt call either.”

Dong Huai finally used his brain a little; after realizing the confrontation between Xiao He and Joyce, he immediately withdrew.

Thus, the dealer flipped over the final card—the King of Spades!

It appeared!

Everyone present gasped, and those who had already exited the game couldnʼt help but focus all their attention on the remaining two players.

Even He Ziye, who had been pulling at the clothes of the woman beside him, completely stopped his actions and placed all his attention on the card table in front of him.

As for Zheng Ji, who had a low presence from beginning to end, he lit a cigarette on the side, then, while slowly exhaling smoke, silently watched the two players in front through the haze, his eyes flashing with a dark gleam.

Currently, the community cards had actually produced four cards of the same suit!

Such a probability was an extremely rare situation! As long as either of these two had a Spade in their hole cards, at the very least, they could form a flush, and the winning odds would be very high!

Of course, if someone didnʼt have a single Spade in their hand, then the outcome of this gambling game was basically settled, without any suspense.

But the problem lay here; players without Spades had naturally withdrawn from the game in the later rounds, including Dong Huai, who had been raising. His withdrawal in the final round was mainly because he didnʼt have a Spade and couldnʼt form any other pairs or sets.

And the reason Joyce chose to keep calling, and even went all-in on the final round, was most likely because he had a Spade in his hand!

As for Xiao He...

He Ziye glanced at the board and inconspicuously looked at the unflappable Xiao He.

Xiao He had gone all-in very early. At that time, the community cards hadnʼt developed, and there was no obvious trend. By the time the later card patterns emerged, Xiao He could no longer withdraw, so no one could be sure if he had a Spade card in his hand.

Joyce, on the other hand, had a gleam of excitement instantly burst into his eyes!

A flush, it was complete!

But while happy, Joyce looked at the cards in his hand, feeling a faint sense of regret in his heart.

It was just a pity that it was so close! Otherwise, this hand wouldnʼt just be a simple flush, but a straight flush! Or even the rare royal flush in Texas Holdʼem!

A straight flush is something an ordinary person would find hard to encounter even once in a hundred games. As for the royal flush, the rarest and most scarce in Texas Holdʼem, it is truly one in ten thousand. Even with the casino having been open for so many years, it was rarely seen.

【Straight Flush: Five consecutive cards of the same suit】

【Royal Flush: A - K - Q - J - 10, of the same suit】

And currently, the hole cards in Joyceʼs hand were: Jack of Spades, Ace of Hearts.

His Jack of Spades, combined with the already revealed 6 of Spades, 10 of Spades, King of Spades, and Ace of Spades, had successfully secured 5 cards of the same suit with different values. Moreover, looking at the board, his Jack of Spades had a high value and significant combat power.

The only pity was that this public 6 of Spades wasnʼt a Queen of Spades; otherwise, he would have had 10-J-Q-K-A of Spades, a royal flush, and would have successfully killed the game!

Perhaps it could have even caused a huge sensation throughout the entire casino tonight!

A scene like this might be something a gambling addict would be lucky to encounter once in a lifetime!

Thinking of missing such a glorious, high-light moment, Joyce couldnʼt help but wring his hands in regret.

Afterward, he couldnʼt help but look at Xiao He again.

Xiao He was still just that calm and collected, holding his cards and looking at the gambling game in front of him, as if this game that decided his ”entire net worth” had nothing to do with him.

This also pulled Joyce out of the joy of imminent victory. He continued to stare at Xiao Heʼs expression, but really couldnʼt judge what kind of hand Xiao He held.

However, this answer would soon be revealed—

Because the remaining two players had gone all-in, the dealer didnʼt beat around the bush, and the game quickly reached the showdown stage.

The first to reveal his cards was, naturally, Joyce.

When he revealed the Jack of Spades, everyone gasped and then looked at Xiao He one after another.

It was known that Joyceʼs cards and the community cards had formed a straight flush. Currently, Joyceʼs hand was: 6 of Spades, 10 of Spades, Jack of Spades, King of Spades, Ace of Spades.

(In the case of the same hand type, the card values are compared. Here, since both are straight flushes, the hole card values of both sides will be compared.)

Even if Xiao He had a Spade in his hand and had formed a flush, it would be very difficult for him to beat the Jack of Spades in Joyceʼs hand.

Unless Xiao He held the Queen of Spades.

—Is that possible?
